I tried to poke Shade, and he was curiously soft? Like... newborn kitten soft. As if he was a little fuzz ball. A little "Drew~!" came out as I poked him.

'Oh my G.o.d he's so cute.'

I'm going to label this spirit as male, just cause that's what sort of vibe his soul gave me. Plus the souls he's been formed of were mostly male. I'll label the next one female.

'Hey, aren't you supposed to give me 2 spirits for successfully doing this?'

Gah. Still sucking my wallet away huh?

I petted the little ball of black, and he happily cooed. I looked over at Luna to see stars in her eyes as she stared at Shade.

'Ah... this guy has a fan club already I see.'

I sighed, and spoke aloud. "Let's get to it then."

I walked to the stairs and went down them, Shade orbiting me like a little moon, and Luna followed.

'Oh yeah. Why did he come up here?' The thought flitted across Luna's mind, and was answered soon by the large treasure chest in the center of the room.

"Ahahaha! Let's see what kind of treasures a Dungeon makes! Also why do dungeons make these?"

I felt a bit of a cold sweat on my forehead. d.a.m.n that's scary! Doesn't that make me the fly?

Luna went to open it, but I stopped her.

"Why aren't we opening it?"

"I want to make sure it isn't a mimic."

"A what?"

"Mimic. A monster that takes the form of a treasure chest so it can eat you."

Luna blinked. Did such a thing exist?

I carefully scanned the mana and soul energy in the room.

'Do mimics not exist? No a dungeon can create whatever it likes, so a mimic is never impossible. Always be cautious! But this time it seems to be okay. But as Dark Souls taught me: if you see a treasure chest, you're probably already dead.'

And on that note of sage(?) advice, I opened the treasure chest.

Inside was... a spear?

Wooden shaft, clear and strong, appears to be Iron-Maple wood(one of the variants I evolved for housing). A leaf-bladed spear-tip, made of a red gemstone, like a ruby or something.

Thanks a.n.a.lyze. So. A magic weapon of fire. I think I'm all good on that though...

"Hey Luna? This spear can absorb light to charge its own mana, and uses it or your own to release fire blasts with every stab. Would you like it?"

Luna blinked, taking a step back and pointing at herself. "Me?"

"Well duh." I rolled my eyes. "I already have fire spells, Fenrir can't use it, so you're the only one left silly."

A light blush came over her cheeks. "S-shut up! I know!" And she jumped forward, grabbing the spear.

I looked at the mana inside out of curiosity, and got this.

***

Spear of Sunlight

Mana: 50/200

Regenerates 1 mana/30 seconds in strong sunlight.

'That storage capacity isn't bad... better than my own at first. I wonder if I could create 'mana batteries' of a sort?'

<...that's literally="" something="" a="" spirit="" does.="">

'...I knew that.'

***

Dark Spirit: Shade

Mana: 0/150

***

Alrighty... I put 150 mana of the darkness element into him, and watched as he doubled in size.

'Neat gimmick.'

So with a living battery of specifically Dark magic, I decided to talk to him about it.

I held Shade in the palm of my hand and felt out the... link? It was like a string from my soul to his.

I put an intention into it, like the intent of a spell. "Hey little Shady. From now on, you can take 1 of the 5 mana I regenerate every second, okay? Make sure to grow nice and strong."

I also made it so that the part of my brain a.n.a.lyze used, and was partially owned by the Dungeon, would manage him and the other spirits constantly, and gave R&D Kyoku the task of continuously feeding spare soul energy and overflowing mana from when I'm already full on it(so 5 mana a second, unless Shade is taking some in which case it's 4), and feeding the embryos with it every second the spirit vessel is in contact with my body.

It'll tire me out faster, but the more I get the better. Now, let's test out what a spirit can do!

I focused on the link between us, and moved my mana through it to use it through Shade. Darkness pooled out of him, forming into a dagger with the concept of weakening, similar to Draining Darkness, but more meant to rapidly drain specific areas that it strikes.

I guess the idea is that I could destroy a spell by sucking away its focal point with one of these.

'Disable a what?!'

I looked at the little spirit. 'Did you... add in that part?'

He gave a happy trill.

So... a spirit can add intent and abilities to magic to improve it based on what you are already trying to do. That is gonna be very nice for when I'm in a fight. As the multi-me's have proven, 2 minds is better than one.

I looked around and scanned by the map again, but there wasn't much else to note, so I gestured for us to get going and climbed the stairs back to the tower's top, and then began the climb back down to the roof.

After we reached there, we began to run again, a new companion among us 3, now 4.

I mentally tracked the positioning of guards, and stopped us a few times when the guards were just below, to ensure they wouldn't hear us above.

I also was paying very careful attention to female Naga's. Apparently only the females are cold blooded. Huh.

And no! I'm not paying attention cause they're all nude, I'm paying close attention because they're heat detection is annoyin-...

"..."

'...using the idea that the darkness hides things, can I cover my heat signature with dark magic with the intent to hide?'

I focused on it, and a think grey mist began to slowly drift from Shade, with some ice energy from me to create a barrier of cold and shrouding darkness around us.

'Hey Dungeon, a.n.a.lyze won't tell me if I can still be detected by heat-vision or senses!'

<...you are="" sometimes="" ever-so-slightly="" impressive.="" but="" it's="" been="" noted="" that="" you="" shouldn't="" expect="" everything="" to="" be="" easy="" here.="">

'Why's that?'

'...oh f.u.c.k me. That had a presence of pure death. If that's in here then I'm gonna die.'
