It was... big?

'Do I call that a palace? It looks like freaking Himeji Castle!'

It didn't look exactly like Himeji Castle(the one j.a.panese palace I've seen) but it had a very similar style in its construction.

A base layer of grey stone going up to a slanted red roof which led to a second layer, like a layered wedding cake almost.

Except really big. With separate towers that ended in ornate arches coming off the roof's to the style of j.a.pan's ancient buildings.

Arrow skits for archers, high walls to bar entry, placed on a mountain with a path leading to it so as to be well situated.

The one issue was...

"Why is it upside-down?"

Yeah. The whole freaking thing, INCLUDING THE MOUNTAIN, was upside down, with the tip of its tallest tower touching the dark ocean.

The mountain extended beyond my lights reach too, so who knew if an ENTIRE PLANET was up there. I wouldn't doubt it in the abyss. This is supposed to be a chaotic and crazy place.

'Well it's the first thing I've found... so I go in?'

I looked at the window on the tower's top floor, which I could totally jump into.

I walked across the dark waters and leaped in an elegant sort of hop, lifting both legs clear and extending them, expecting to land.

Yet suddenly gravity tugged on my gut in a strange fas.h.i.+on as it flipped, my momentum switching from rising and falling to rising and then RISING.

I reacted quickly, instinct honed by all the bulls.h.i.+t I've been dealing with. My legs swung up in front of me, my tail swinging as well, rolling myself in the air by the momentum to land on my feet.

I felt the s.p.a.ce change the second I entered the tower, like the difference between salt and lake water.

"Huh. There's light now?"

A harsh, blood-red light lit up the room, and it seemed to be coming from the window?

I looked outside, dispelling my globe of fire that is been using as a light, just to freeze.

"What the fuuuuuuck?"

I saw a h.e.l.lscape(pun TOTALLY intended!) of volcanic ash covering a blackened earth, cracks of magma in the ground all over, extending from the castle's hill all the way to a rocky horizon, where the ground just... dropped off.

Red hazy clouds filled the sky, giving off that harsh lighting, and they hung about even or slightly below my height.

The clouds only had a s.p.a.ce where the castle was, clearing out a ring around the tower, and looking up, I could see the surface of the dark ocean as if it were the ceiling of this world.

"What the LITERAL h.e.l.l?!"

'I... do not understand... how by ANY dimensional laws this even WORKS."

You know what? It's fine. Not like I'm in f.u.c.king h.e.l.l or anything. Not like I'm cut off from the dungeon and can't even open my menu. Not like a.n.a.lyze is the only dungeon-related thing that works cause it's actually a part of me.

Not like I jumped into a building and LITERALLY SWITCHED WHAT REALM OR h.e.l.l I WAS IN.

No. Not at all.

I breathed, deep and slow. "Relax Kyoku. Breathe, and then think. What should I do?"

First off: take inventory of self.

I looked down at myself. I had no flute, no sword, no spirits(so no spirit magic, s.h.i.+t), and my clothes were a strangely ceremonial looking pair of loose white pants, held by a piece of rope bound into the belt-loops, and a white robe with black and red lines on the edges and seams.

And... oh yeah. I had a hole in me.

'I should probably be freaking out that a 3 inches in diameter hole is punched through the center of my chest, but I'm honestly kinda getting over the strangeness of h.e.l.l.'

Alright. So I'm gonna a.s.sume my soul is damaged somehow, cause I'm noticing a few things.

First off; I still can sense mana, a.n.a.lyze things, and detect changes in s.p.a.ce, but my ability to feel out the soul wavelengths with my own feels REALLY HARD to do. Like near-impossible.

Then there's a hole in my chest, and this is my literal soul, so that's a big "You Are Wounded" sign.

Finally the weirdest part of my current state: half of my mana is missing.

Like all those golden-white mana lines that contain the light and ice energies in me? Nowhere to be found.

All this soul has are the black miasma and red pulsing veins. That's... not concerning at all.

'So I'm split in half? Wait... that sounds like the Another Kyoku Skill. Did my soul split in half? Is there two of me in h.e.l.l?!'

Right. There's me, the "dark" half it seems. Also ooh! I have cla.s.s on my fingers? And wow! My tail is bigger and bus.h.i.+er. Also any fur seems less "gold-red" and more "blood-red" right now.

Sorry, point is I'm pretty sure there's a "light half" of me wandering around SOMEWHERE in the G.o.dd.a.m.n multiverse of this Dimension.

'In other words... all I gotta do for now is make sure I find the other me and-'

'-find the other me and make sure he doesn't get into trouble.'

I nodded, looking at my pale golden fur and long, soft fingers. My white clothes with golden and icy blue lines on the seams were pretty loose and comfy actually.

I looked again at the golden mist in myself and the white lines making up my veins.

Then I looked up. "Course, That only works if this IS h.e.l.l. Cause nothing about this seems h.e.l.lish to me."

Fields of bright green gra.s.s stretched away from the hill I stood upon, with soft white clouds that I could see had golden buildings floating on top of.

'...wait. What if I'm in the Heaven of the Fox G.o.d? Like whatever's left of the Heavenly Realm or Divine Realm is the Fox G.o.d After it got shattered? And the dark me is in h.e.l.l? Wouldn't that make finding him impossible?'

I shook my head. No! The divine realm was shattered, so this must just be a really twisted h.e.l.l that intends to f.u.c.k with your head!

I began walking, figuring standing around wouldn't help much.

***

"Well first things first. Let's explore this castle."

I turned away from the red sky's and looked at the room, with a stairway downwards in the farther corner.

'I should take notes from this castle design, cause d.a.m.n this is cool. I should make this be the kind of building I change the Shrine into to guard the Dungeon Core. Oh yeah. Lake filled with water elementals led by Aqua, with a castle in the center with many traps and guards. That's the Dungeon I'll make.'

I walked down the stairs, and drew up short as an intense smell of rotting flesh hit my nostrils.

"Eugh. That's disgusting. This is the moment I DO NOT enjoy the super-senses."

I looked at whatever was causing it.

"What the f.u.c.k is that?!"

You know what... this really is h.e.l.l. Cause I've had to say that sentence SO MANY times now!

A bulb of red, pulsing flesh was growing out of or attached to the wall opposite the stairwell, and the stairs further down were next to it.

It pulsed, a ripple of red light coming from within, showing a shape of some... thing... inside.

'Why do I feel like that's a disgusting flesh egg or some s.h.i.+t? Oh right. Probably cause I'm in the literal wet-dream of any horror fanboy. h.e.l.l.'

And I'm... going to have to go right next to it to go down.

"Yeah. Okay. I'm just going to set you on fire before you can pull any bulls.h.i.+t with me."

I cast FoxFire, letting the five fireb.a.l.l.s launch at the flesh sac thing.

'Alright!' It hit and they all exploded, blood and meat flying out from the explosion.

I raised my hand in victory, only to freeze as I heard a "THUMP!" of something hitting the ground.

'Oh f.u.c.k no. Please be it's corpse. Please.'

"Thump! Tap-Tap, THUMP!"

Whatever it was, it was moving. And therefore not even-more-dead-than-being-in-h.e.l.l.

'What is that anyways? Oblivion? Ooh. That's a scary thing. No wait! I'm an idiot, if something dies in the afterlife, it'll go to the river of souls. Duh.'

I looked as the meat was mushed away by a twisted, malformed red arm with black claws. It reached up, and then extended further, a second elbow coming into view as it kept extending, until both the elbows bent, placing a hand on the ground.

A second arm slowly rose, then bent to the ground.

Finally it lifted itself out, a twisted mess of burned, scarred, and malformed flesh and bone sticking out.

Fur covered it's whole body, a long head on a serpent-like neck reaching out with its fangs. Long hair from the top of its head and down its neck, like the mane of a horse, reached down several feet past its head and neck, dragging on the ground and obscuring it's eyes and some of its body.

It's torso was a round ball with the neck and arms sticking out, and two tiny feet the size of a toddlers stuck out the bottom, with knees that bent the wrong was an ma.s.sive curving claws like a velociraptor.

'That thing reverses the functions of its arms and legs, and it is f.u.c.kING NIGHTMARE FUEL.'

It's head slowly raised... and I could feel its intent to kill causing the very mana in the air to vibrate with murder.

'Oh... f.u.c.k.'

"HEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHH!"

It's mouth opened, and it screamed, high pitched and sounding like it should break gla.s.s, leaving my head ringing.

Spittle sprayed as a wave of stinking rotten flesh-smell hit me like a truck, it's breath so horribly overwhelming I felt like I was about to puke.

"Oh f.u.c.k me, FOXFIRE! FOXFIRE, FOXFIRE, FOXFIRE!"

Yeah! 20 fireb.a.l.l.s is NOT TOO MUCH! Actually you are right. I should send more.
