Life is a fleeting thing, that is if you are a mortal who does not cultivate. But for those who do cultivate, life goes on for as much as you raise your cultivation.

By the time you reach Saint stage your lifespan already reached 500 years. If you reach dominion realm, you will be able to live for thousands of years.

Humans were the kind of race where they wish for life as they envied the long-lived race such as the elves and the spirit beasts.

Elves were known for their ordinary lifespan to be as long as 500 years in the shortest. That is them not cultivating. Elves were originally people of nature, their life force was much greater than any other race.

In the end, what this boils down to is that humans longed for a long life so they can find possibilities for themselves. But if one has to suffer for millennia with the memory that haunts them awake, is living be better than dying?

As w.a.n.g Ling rode on the back of his partner, he meditated to calm his heart and mind. He was seated in a cross-legged manner and inside his energy palace was his saint soul seated in the same manner.

His consciousness was deep within his energy palace. Two flames were in hands and he was concentrating in many things.

He circulated the [Overturning Nine Heaven Art], [h.e.l.l Dominator Body], and the [Extreme Yin Yang Art] at the same time. He was also using the [Light Bearer] innate technique and the [Soul Devourer] innate technique without a problem.

With the help of Extreme Yin Yan Art, w.a.n.g Ling was capable of managing his many forms of qi without a problem whatsoever. For anyone to attempt this other than he would result in that person dying by implosion. But w.a.n.g Ling's mind was capable of tasking himself into different things at the same time.

The myriad of things he was taught by his 'master' in the past was to learn how to mult.i.task as much as possible. Even when he was just a mere 11 years old lad in the previous era, w.a.n.g Ling had worked hard to become a quick-witted individual.

Having a deep mental capacity could be said some kind of gift to him by his one and only master. w.a.n.g Ling embraces this gift to him by using it to the fullest.

While circulating his qi and absorbing the souls of his targets, w.a.n.g Ling's cultivation was soaring. As he and Bai Xue had the agreement of traveling while cultivating, w.a.n.g Ling and Bai Xue had significantly raised their cultivations.

w.a.n.g Ling was already at the borders of grand saint stage. As he and Bai Xue moved without rest towards the Thunder Domain, w.a.n.g Ling continued to cultivate.

Upon entering the Thunder Domain in the 4th month of the year, w.a.n.g Ling managed to break through the barrier of the grand saint stage. He was now an official early-grand saint stage cultivator.

He first solidified his cultivation and changed roles with Bai Xue. He became the mount and Bai Xue began cultivating using the blood she had saved up in vials. She fell asleep as w.a.n.g Ling flew away in a hurry.

w.a.n.g Ling sped away, his wings were not out, but he was using Soaring Devil. The two halos were out in the open, absorbing the qi to resupply his body what he had lost.

Being someone with the bloodline from Heaven, he was really sensitive when it comes to qi.

From his experience, he had made a clear distinction that separates devils from the holy race. Devils are beings that have a st.u.r.dy body and was battle oriented. While the Holy Race was sensitive to qi and was masters of qi manipulation making them especially adept in using the elements.

These two points made w.a.n.g Ling wonder of the true natures of the Devils and Holy Race. He was only making a.s.sumptions after all. The truth was still hidden beyond the realms, he still did not know what is true and what is not.

But base on the bloodlines he possesses, w.a.n.g Ling's a.s.sumption might just be true. w.a.n.g Ling smiled bitterly and flew away as quickly as he could. He was avoiding the cities and the areas where spirit beasts frequent.

Thanks to the map he had bought, w.a.n.g Ling was slowly getting used to trouble. But there were times when w.a.n.g Ling chose to stop and intervene with some minor events. A good example of this was when w.a.n.g Ling was nearing the Thunder Domain.

According to the map he had bought, w.a.n.g Ling was near the edge of the domain. But he didn't really need a map to know if that was true or not, after all, the surrounding area had been having thinner sheets of ice.

While he was near the edges of the Frost Domain. w.a.n.g Ling saw a village getting attacked by a group of bandits. Currently, he was not wearing his devil mask and was instead wearing his white scholarly robes that was made of top-notched materials.

The village was not a big one, it was only composed of several small houses and its residents were mostly composed of middle-aged people and some youths. From where he was at, he could see approximately fifty people going around fighting the invaders.

Hundreds of bandits were going around killing and hunting the residents of the village. There were bandits hacking and slas.h.i.+ng the men trying to fight back and some were dragging the women away.

He was of no man of great virtue. He will kill those who tried to kill him and will not actively help people from the goodness of his heart alone. So it would be totally out of character of him to save the village that was being attacked by bandits.

Two young women stumbled as they were running away from a scar-faced bandit who had a l.u.s.tful look on his face. The two ladies had a look of fright, tears stream down their faces as they both mumbled, "H—help!"

The scar-faced bandit only laughed at their frightened mumblings as he shouted, "There's no one going to help you!"

But at that exact moment, w.a.n.g Ling swoops down from above with the golden light from his bloodline. It provided him a divine and soothing glow. Descending like some divine being, w.a.n.g Ling surprised the bandit.

Standing before a bandit with his backs turned to the young ladies, w.a.n.g Ling said, "Are you alright?" it was a simple and overused wording, but it was truly comforting in the ears of the two ladies.

They nodded as they pleased, "Please, help our village."

"Don't worry, I will do just that. Stay there and do not move." w.a.n.g Ling answered with a calming tone of voice. His voice was soothing to the ears of those who heard it.

"Who are you!?"

The bandit who saw w.a.n.g Ling descend from above felt his knees buckle as instinctive fear encroached all over his body. Someone who had the ability to fly from above only meant one thing, saints were present.

Being a lowly bandit himself, he was nowhere near being an almighty saint. Because if he had the ability to become saint, he wouldn't be here rotting away in a job of robbing and pillaging people of their possessions. That is if he was some maniac.

w.a.n.g Ling showed a valiant figure to the people who saw him and to his opponents, showing an undisguisable figure and aura of someone divine.

As he looked at the bandit, he only showed a smile and without any preconceived notion. He started wreaking havoc all around the village. Moving around the village killing the bandits and in the end claiming the head of the bandit leader.

After claiming the head of unnamed bandit leader, w.a.n.g Ling presented it to the village chief who was an old man, saying, "Take this and present it to a City Lord, it might have some value."

After saying that piece, he got ready to leave. But as he was just about to fly away the old man asked him, "May we know of our benefactor's name?"

w.a.n.g Ling stopped as he answered, "w.a.n.g Ling." he then flew away at breakneck speed leaving behind the elder who was left stupefied as the name started sinking in.

"So it was the [Prince of the Divine Light] who saved us!"
