Demon Slaying System 29 Chapter 25 : Random Quest Again ?

Mark had gathered some food that he can store in his personal s.p.a.ce. Tough these are taken from the villagers house who were dead and it was not like he was robbing them as these food materials would be rotted away in few days as there was no one to consume them.

Mark by using his agility attributes runs towards the place where humans would thrive, which was nearer to him, he asks few people that he found in his way to a nearby city as he could ride a flying s.h.i.+p and reach the royal academy, on his way he saw a group of youngsters wearing some uniforms, that was red in colour with white stripes in between them, they appeared to be at their early teens and were apparently fighting against a demon race's Minotaur. It was a regular demon, tough it was powerful it can be crushed under Mark onslaught within seconds.

A youngster, who was carrying his large s.h.i.+eld blocking most of the attacks comming from the Minotaur, but at certain level he was not able to withstand the strong attacks against it and was thrown back when that demon swinged his giant axe after it had imbibed it with its large quant.i.ties of mana.

A difficulty when facing these monsters were , as they evolve and reach new levels they starts to get more and more intelligent, if we take example of small goblin which has not even crossed level 10 those monsters would easily fall for tricks and taunts and as level increased to goblin, hobgoblin, they become more stronger and intelligent enough to run villages, similarly this Minotaur which was at level 52 was able to figure out their pattern of attacks and had attacked the s.h.i.+eld wielder when there was a moment of lack in their coordination, disrupting their entire plan against it.

After the s.h.i.+eld wielder had been thrown out by Minotaur, those party of humans were now vulnerable under its onslaught.

A youngster welding a long sword was das.h.i.+ng towards it, trying to attract the attention from the minotaur away from the females and other members in his party, he swings his sword valiantly over the Minotaur making a deep gash over it and had managed to attract it's attention, to let his fellow party members escape during his struggle.

The fight lasted for few seconds before that long sword of the youngster got broken against the monsters power he received from that Minotaur, he was smashed against the ground which had cracked into a spider web pattern around him.

He was lying on the floor, unconscious, the Minotaur had once again lifted his giant axe and started to descend it upon that youngster to finish him off under its present attack.

The females of the party that had escaped were crying unable to bear apart from their fellow companion, the remaining survivors has lost their hope on his survival.

But Mark was able to see a person who had lacked any traces of fear instead he had a smirk at the corner of his lips as if he knows that the event in front if him were bound to occur, and see.... it has been done !

The giant axe that the Minotaur was using at present had reached one meter above to the sword carrying youngsters body, before it was about to bisect his body it was blocked by some tiny obstacle, a small silhouette had been noticed seen that was catching the sharp edge of giant axe used by the minotaur using his bear hands, faint golden aura was emitting from his body indicating that he was already an aura grand master which was dumbfounding to then as he looked not any older than ten years.

The place where he had catched the giant axe has started to produce cracks, these cracks eventually started to spread across the course of its whole length and finally breaking it into several pieces and rendered that demon weaponless.

On seeing Mark who was the size of his finger, the one who had broken its weapon, it had his pride hurted, it gave out a screech, shouting out loud, " a lowly human..... , how dare ? It then started to thrust it's large hand towards mark, trying to squeeze him by his palm .

Mark had taken his blade out of his storage, side stepped towards his left and diverted the trajectory of the blow towards right and diverted the impact that he was about to receive, the land where it's gigantic hands had landed had made a giant spider web pattern with a huge crater at its center.

" Not good...".

Mark started to have difficulty facing against this Minotaur, it was not because he was weak but because he had to take care of a baggage, this youngster who was unconscious. If not for him dragging his back even ten Minotaur such as these wouldn't break a sweat from him.

He can't utilize his traversing ability as this youngster below him would die the second he disappears away from him so he could only drag the fight somewhere else before he can finish it off.

System prompted her random quest again as it was already a week from the last quest she had announced, the puppet killing quest.

Mark imbibes his mana into the blade swings his blade using his cherished "fire blade skill" making a deep gash over it's hand and successfully managed to anger the demon and lure it away from the baggage that was lying unconscious in the ground.

Mark after luring it away from that youngster lying on the ground , he had stopped restraining himself from using his traversing skill and reached on top of it's shoulder, he breaker open that monsters carotid on side of its neck, it is known that either, being a man or animal or even this demon in front of him, when their carotid are wide opened the blood gushes nonstop outwards their body from the wound and reducing the flow into their brains causing dizziness immediately followed by weakness due to loss of blood, underneath this mess he climbs over it's head and performs his resonance immediately.

Tough he can perform resonance straight away, but great skills it still has its own weaknesses, larger structures takes more time than normal and softer the things more difficult it would be to utilise his resonance as most of his energy would be wasted away in the bouncings of their elastical movements which they cause will delays the activation of the skill.

As this Minotaur had large body tens of time larger than Mark, and it's soft brain which would take Longer time for his skill to show its effects. Tough mastering it's degree to high could help him reducing it's time before its action begins but Mark had just recently unlocked his new trump card by coincidence, and had mastered it to the degree where it could instantly activate and show it's results.

Mark had to delay some time before he can active his ability properly or it would show poor results. As a result he cut of its carotid to delay the time and when it had lost its gaurd, he could finish it off easily.

Comming back to present, Mark had activated his ability resonance and had half way destroyed it's brain cells nearly killed the demon, but suddenly that huge demon had turned into bright light and disappeared instantly, leaving behind some spare amount of experience which was neither of any use to him as it was equivalent to add a drop of water in a pond, not significant enough for his leveling process.

Mark was startled as he was new to this phenomenon, disappearance after its body had turned up into a bright light, rather than usual suction into the land when he had killed a monster.

But as soon as that monster had disappeared the message regarding the completion of his quest has been announced out by the system.
