After taking care of the two dog thieves, they could finally take a look at the dog that was lying on the ground.
The dog was still wearing a collar. Fu Sichen couldn't really see what it looked like in the dark, but it seemed like one of those special guide dog harnesses.
Therefore, this was definitely some kind of guide dog.
"You!" The Fat One looked at Fu Sichen. He found Fu Sichen's face to be vaguely familiar, but couldn't quite put a finger on who exactly he was. After committing a crime, he felt both guilty and nervous, so he tried to back away slowly from the scene of the crime.
"This is your cat?" On the other hand, the thinner man was quite clam. He steadily crawled out of the dog hole and dusted the dirt off his body before giving a cold laugh, "You better pay up."
As he was saying this, he glared at the Fat One and gave him a shove. The Fat One suddenly caught on. He used his hands to cover the scratch that Pei Zhen had given him. Then, he put on a fierce expression to say, "That's right! Compensation! Are you keeping a cat to scratch other people? You better give us one thousand dollars… No, that's not enough… ten thousand dollars minimum!"
Fu Sichen had a handsome face; even if he wasn't wearing a suit that was obviously brand-name, it wasn't too hard to tell that it was both luxurious and expensive. He was even wearing a brand-name watch. The Skinny One and the Fat One's eyes gleamed with greed.
They should have asked for more money!
The two men came up with an evil plan. The Fat One suddenly held his face and hollered, "I'll have to get shots! It'll take up my precious time and energy! I need to be compensated for all of these things!"
"Is that so." Fu Sichen gave an expressionless smile. His gaze fell on the unconscious guide dog. He didn't wait for the Fat One to finish speaking before interjecting, "Is this your dog?"
"Of course he's ours!" The Skinny One dragged the dog behind him roughly before shouting fiercely, "Your cat also bit our dog! You need to compensate us for that too!"
All these two people knew how to do was spew nonsense; it was obvious that all they cared about was money. Pei Zhen had the urge to rush up and scratch them again!
Feeling Pei Zhen's anger, Fu Sichen reached out to pat and calm him. "It looks like this dog is a guide dog— are any of you blind?"
"What are you trying to imply?!" Not only did Fu Sichen not address the issue of compensation, but now, he was even trying to use the dog to distract them. The Fat One started to swear, "What do you mean! Of course this dog is ours!"
"But if he was your dog, then why did you need to drug him?"
'"He… he's sick. That's why he's unconscious." The Skinny One had quite a quick wit; but alas, he used it to do bad things. "We were worried about him, so we wanted to crawl through the dog hole as a shortcut."
The story was getting so far-fetched that the Fat One lost his patience. He just wanted Fu Sichen to shut up and pay up.
Discussion was impossible when it came to dealing with a bunch of thugs. Pei Zhen was getting angry at their nonsense. When the Fat One took a step forward, it was the last straw for Pei Zhen. He gave a cry before rus.h.i.+ng forward!
"Arrrhhhh…"
The moment that Pei Zhen called out, the Fat One was taken by surprise. He stumbled a few steps back before collecting himself after a few moments. The Fat One had now been completely p.i.s.sed off by Pei Zhen the cat.
Picking up a stick off the ground, the Fat One rushed towards Fu Sichen, "No more nonsense! Your cat bit us, so you better pay up!"
This time around, both the Fat One and the Skinny One were charging at Fu Sichen.
In any case, this place was so remote that it would be stupid not to take the opportunity to extort some money.
The two thugs advanced forward fiercely. Fu Sichen relaxed his hands and the cat nimbly jumped out of the way. After waiting for the two to come closer, Fu Sichen turned around and kicked off a tree trunk with his long legs. He borrowed this momentum to spin around and send the Fat One flying away with a powerful sweep of his leg.
Upon landing, Fu Sichen didn't even take a moment to rest. He grabbed the stick in the Thin One's hands with one hand and punched him with the other.
"Who's there?!" After the two thieves' painful cries sounded out in the night, flashlights could be seen coming down the little path around the garden.
