"What did you do to my a.s.sistant?! Where is he?!" w.a.n.g Reiji hissed at the person sitting behind the steering wheel.

"I told you, he got in the wrong car. But don't worry, he is safe with my a.s.sistant." Zhang Chenric answered w.a.n.g Reiji calmly.

"This is clearly an abduction!" w.a.n.g Reiji screamed as her hands desperately reached for her phone inside her purse.

"Abduction? How? Didn't you enter the car by yourself? No one forced you to." Zhang Chenric retorted as he smirked at w.a.n.g Reiji through the car's rearview mirror.

"You! You stop this car right now! I am getting off."

"No one will get off this car until all misunderstandings have been cleared up."

"There is nothing for us to talk about! You better stop the car or I am calling the cops." w.a.n.g Reiji then raised her phone and started to dial.

"Are you sure? Listen, if you call the cops, won't you just be exposing yourself?"

"It is none of your business! Stop the car!"

"Still as stubborn as ever, Yin. I hope our daughter did not inherit that att.i.tude of yours."

"What the h.e.l.l are you talking about? Our daughter?" w.a.n.g Reiji suddenly felt a faint panic that can grow depending on what she does or says next. She then put her phone down.

Taking a quick glance at w.a.n.g Reiji from the corner of his right eye, Zhang Chenric observed that her face became rigid with tension. Basing from the look of w.a.n.g Reiji's face, he definitely nailed a spot.

"Since you do not want to talk about the past anymore. How about we talk about the present then? I want to meet our daughter."

"Was my punch too strong that your brain started to malfunction? Turn the car around, let's have your head check!"

"No. This car will only stop once we reached our destination."

"W-where are you taking me?!"

"I am taking you home."

"As if you know where it is"

"Of course. You bought it from me."

"Please drop your pretense, Yin. I know a lot had happened between us. But, can't you see? No matter how hard you tried to evade me, fate finds a way to make us meet."

Upon hearing Zhang Chenric's words, w.a.n.g Reiji wasn't able to contain her hatred and mocked what the man had said.

"I think it should be the other way around. You drop your pretense, Prosecutor Zhang." w.a.n.g Reiji said as she threw furious glances at the man.

"Oh, and please shut your filthy mouth. Your every word disgusts me. You disgust me in your exhilaration to enter my life again. And since when did my daughter become your daughter too? You better wake up from that seemingly sweet dream of yours, Prosecutor Zhang." The anger from w.a.n.g Reiji's eyes conveyed a woman who learned to hate the love she had once yearned for.

Instead of answering her retort, Zhang Chenric stepped on the gas pedal and made the car accelerate faster, almost making w.a.n.g Reiji's head hit the car window.

"Eekkk!" In the intense silence inside the car, w.a.n.g Reiji's scream rivaled the screeching of the car's tires.

"Are you trying to kill me??" w.a.n.g Reiji yelled out loud after she recovered from that sudden jolting movement.

"Did you really think that I can kill you?! Or was it just easier for you to hate me than believe in my explanation?" Zhang Chenric let out a low chuckle before he took a deep breath and took the car into a sharp turn.

"I may have acted on impulse in the past and I did not think before I acted. Maybe that's why we fell apart and I lost you. But never did I think of harming you or hurting you." Zhang Chenric slumped his shoulders as his eyes cast a gaze full of sadness on the road.

"So, you just sent me to prison instead? Or was it just easier for you to get rid of me and then just listen to my side of the story when it is already convenient for you?" w.a.n.g Reiji then placed her arms across her chest. Lifting her right eyebrow, w.a.n.g Reiji threw daggers at Zhang Chenric as she antic.i.p.ated his reb.u.t.tal.

Zhang Chenric seemingly shocked by what he had heard from w.a.n.g Reiji, slammed the car brakes hard, causing both of them to move forward.

"S-sent you to prison instead? What are you talking about? I did not press charges against you."
