"Doctor Wu, here is the profile of the next patient." The female nurse graciously walked her way inside the consultation room.

"Thank you. Kindly tell the next patient that we are almost done here." Doctor Wu said as he unconsciously opened w.a.n.g Reiji's files in front of Zhang Chenric.

Zhang Chenric blinked his eyes many times the moment he caught a glimpse of w.a.n.g Reiji's photo. Was he starting to see things? Why did the next patient look exactly the same as Xing Yin? And why Lee Qingya did not even report this to him?!

However, instead of getting annoyed, he felt extremely happy. Was fate helping them to patch things up by making them meet twice in a row in just a single night? Bearing this realization in mind, Zhang Chenric was ever more determined to have a serious conversation with w.a.n.g Reiji.

"Hmmm, interesting. The next patient wants to have her knuckle check. Could it be, by any chance, the next patient was the one who punched you on the face, Mr. Zhang?" The doctor stared at Zhang Chenric in amazement.

Zhang Chenric:...

"Haha! Just kidding Mr. Zhang! I am just trying to start a conversation with you. Anyway, it seems like your nose injury wasn't that severe. But just to make sure, I will schedule you for a CT-Scan by tomorrow morning. For the meantime, take these pills to lessen the pain so you can sleep soundly tonight" Dr. Wu then handed Zhang Chenric a bottle of medicine.

"Thank you, Doctor Wu." Zhang Chenric said as he stood up and shook hands with the orthopedic doctor.

The physician then stood up as well and walked Zhang Chenric to the consultation room's door. Sensing Zhang Chenric's presence, w.a.n.g Reiji lowered her head down in an attempt to hide her face. Unfortunately, Zhang Chenric had already seen her profile and was also aware that she was the next patient.

"Lee, let's go." Zhang Chenric called out to his a.s.sistant.

"Okay, master!" Lee Qingya answered as he dashed toward the door and held it open for Zhang Chenric.

Seeing Zhang Chenric and his a.s.sistant left the room, w.a.n.g Reiji somehow felt relieved and thankful that the person she least wanted to see was now finally out of her sight.

"Miss Jing Yizhi?" The doctor read the name that was written on the form w.a.n.g Reiji had filled out earlier.

"I am Jing Yizhi." w.a.n.g Reiji quickly answered.

"Please follow me." The doctor said as he went back inside his consultation room.

Hearing the doctor's words, w.a.n.g Reiji wasted no time and immediately followed behind the doctor.
Soon after both of them were inside, the doctor invited w.a.n.g Reiji to take a seat. Since it was her and only the doctor inside the room, w.a.n.g Reiji decided to remove her cap and face mask.

Once seated, the doctor started scanning w.a.n.g Reiji's medical records. As he went over the file, he also began to ask her questions.

"So, what happened to your knuckle?"

"Hmmm... I hurt my knuckle when I was practicing for a commercial." w.a.n.g Reiji lied.

"Oh, you should take care of yourself. A model should treasure her body well."

"I will bear that in mind, doctor. Thank you for the concern."

"You are welcome! I will be cheering you on then! Let me see your knuckle now." The doctor said as he reached out his palm, waiting for w.a.n.g Reiji to place her hand on it.

"Does it hurt when I do this?" The doctor then applied a small pressure on the swollen knuckle.

"The pain is tolerable. It hurts but not so much." w.a.n.g Reiji answered honestly.

"No broken bones or ligaments maybe. But it is a bit swelling though. Hmmm... Nurse Cha!" After giving his a.s.sessment to w.a.n.g Reiji's knuckle, the doctor called out for his nurse.

"What is it, Doctor Wu?" The nurse immediately showed up at the room's door.

"Please get me a knuckle bandage, the elastic ones."

"Right away, Doctor Wu."

After sending the nurse for a little errand, the doctor then faced w.a.n.g Reiji and spoke,

"We will put a bandage on your knuckle for the meantime. If your knuckle is still swollen until tomorrow night, please come back here for another test." The doctor said with a smile.

"Thank you, doctor." w.a.n.g Reiji replied smiling at Doctor Wu as well.

"You know what, I do not know if this is just a mere coincidence. But, did you know that the patient before you had his nose checked? Haha, I was actually thinking that it was you who punched him!"

"Hehehe, I like your sense of humor, Doctor. But how can a fragile woman such as myself punch a full grown man like him." w.a.n.g Reiji said as she tried to laugh at the Doctor's joke.

"Haha I know, right? But the timing was so on point. I should have introduced the two of you to each other."

Upon hearing the doctor's words, w.a.n.g Reiji swallowed an invisible lump in her throat. Why was the doctor being nosy?! Was the doctor trying to be a matchmaker or any of sort? Well, even if her knuckle still continued to swell, she will never come back here again!

"Doctor, here is a pack of elastic knuckle bandage." The nurse had returned from her quick errand.

"Thanks, Nurse Cha. Your hand Miss Jing."

As soon as w.a.n.g Reiji had placed her hand in front of the doctor, he immediately but gently put the bandage around her swelling knuckle.

"This bandage will reduce the inflammation as well as protect your knuckle for sustaining any more injury." Doctor Wu explained as he finished wrapping w.a.n.g Reiji's inflamed knuckle.

"Thanks, Doc. Aside from the bandage, do I need to take any medication?" w.a.n.g Reiji asked as she rubbed her knuckle which was now wrapped in a bandage.

"Ah, you can take a pain killer. But you said the pain is tolerable so you probably do not have to rely on it."

"I see. Thanks again, Doctor." w.a.n.g Reiji said as she offered a handshake with her left hand instead of the other one.

"You are welcome! Just come visit me whenever you have injuries and don't forget about me once you become famous, okay?" The doctor said as he shook hands with w.a.n.g Reiji.

"Hehe, sure!" w.a.n.g Reiji smiled at the doctor as she stepped outside the consultation room. As soon as she got to the next room, she hurriedly put her face mask on and baseball cap. She then roamed her eyes to look for her a.s.sistant Rentao who seemed to be missing in the scene.

"h.e.l.lo, Miss Jing! Feeling any better? By the way, the guy who accompanied you here went to the restroom." The nurse said as she cleaned her desk, seemingly ready to go home.

"Thank you, nurse." w.a.n.g Reiji then took her phone out of her sleeves' pocket and contacted Rentao.

After two rings her a.s.sistant answered.

"Hey, Rentao! I am done with my checkup. Meet you at the hospital front exit, okay?"

"Mmmm." The person on the other line replied.

Upon hearing the confirmation, w.a.n.g Reiji then stepped inside the elevator. In a few moments, she found herself walking towards the hospital's front exit point where their car was waiting for her.

Without thinking twice, w.a.n.g Reiji immediately hopped inside the car and buckled her seatbelt on.

"Villa now, Rentao." w.a.n.g Reiji gave the person sitting on the driver's seat her instruction.

However, the person did not reply, he instead locked the doors of the car.

"Oi, Rentao? Are you sleepy already? Or tired? Can you still drive?" w.a.n.g Reiji tried to remain calm despite having an unsettling feeling when his a.s.sistant did not reply to her instruction.

"I think your a.s.sistant got into the wrong car."

The familiar voice sent w.a.n.g Reiji into a state of panic, making her want to jump out of the car. However, her attempt was already too late for the car was already in motion.

"Don't try to do stupid things, Yin/Yizhi/Reiji or heaven knows what name you are using now. We have to talk."

The man behind the steering wheel was not her a.s.sistant, it was none other than the father of her daughter, it was Zhang Chenric!
