'Let's just hope that the old man inside is more of a friend and not a potential enemy.' w.a.n.g Reiji told herself as her grip on the steering wheel tightened. Truthfully, she did not want any outsiders inside their property especially inside the house. But how can she say no to her younger brother to whom she promised support?
Pressing the gas pedal, w.a.n.g Reiji made a quick turn and halted in front of the mansion's main entrance door. She inhaled deeply as her fingers slowly move to unbuckle the seatbelt. Just when she had completely freed herself and was ready to get off the car, the soft buzzing sound from her phone delayed her from getting out.
It was a text message from Hanzo. Earlier, right after w.a.n.g Yuvin had informed her of his situation, she asked Hanzo to run a background check on her brother's enemies. Hanzo's message was probably an update of what she had requested of him.
Without any second thoughts, w.a.n.g Reiji read Hanzo's message and was immediately disappointed after reading the first few lines of its content. Frowning, she still went on and continued reading.
'Untraceable? Origins of Kiang Leilei's father cannot be found? We must be extra cautious then.' After finis.h.i.+ng the entire content of the message, w.a.n.g Reiji started to feel slightly bothered. It seemed like the person her brother messed up with was someone who hold great influence. A power strong enough to keep Hanzo from finding out his ident.i.ty.
After she had read the disappointing message from Hanzo, she decided to send him a reply. A request to do a background check the second time.
Soon when the message was sent, she slid her phone inside her pant's pocket and hurriedly stepped out of the car.
"Welcome back, Boss!" Chaun greeted her with a bright smile on his face which instantly vanished when w.a.n.g Reiji gave him a death stare.
"Whenever there are outsiders around, please refrain from calling me boss. Call me CEO w.a.n.g instead." w.a.n.g Reiji said as she walked pa.s.s the driver.
"Understood, CEO w.a.n.g." Though a bit trembling, the nervous Chaun managed to answer in a sentence as he stood beside his boss' car.
"How long have they been waiting for me?" w.a.n.g Reiji asked as she halted some steps away from the main door of the mansion.
"Not too long, CEO w.a.n.g. I think they arrived twenty minutes earlier than you.
"Hmm... Rally all the guards. Tell them to tighten the security and prepare for combat. Your master Yuvin had just gotten himself into trouble. We must be prepared at all cost."
"Right away, ma'am!" Upon hearing his important task, Chaun wasted no time and dashed his way to find the head of the security.
w.a.n.g Reiji then let out a deep sigh as she watched Chaun walk away from her. Just when she was about to step inside the mansion, a pair of chubby arms hugged her waist tightly.
"Mama!" Europa exclaimed with joy as her eyes landed on her favorite person.
"Darling!" w.a.n.g Reiji immediately felt worried when she saw her daughter who was about to step out of the mansion alone. At a time like this, the enemies might target the vulnerable Europa.
As her motherly instinct kicked in, w.a.n.g Reiji quickly wrapped her arms around her daughter and quickly carried her inside the mansion. Startled, Europa can only just stare at Misha which they have left behind.
"Starting today, I forbid you from going outside our house. You can only step outside when you are either with me or with your uncle." w.a.n.g Reiji's voice was firm and absolute.
"Did I do something wrong, Mama?" Confused and with a shaky voice, the little girl asked her mother.
Realizing that her gestures scared her daughter, w.a.n.g Reiji's arms tightened around Europa as she kissed her cheek.
"No, no, no. You did not do anything wrong, my love. It is just mama suddenly felt worried when she saw you came out of the mansion alone." w.a.n.g Reiji quickly explained as she stop on her traks and begun to calm Europa down.
"I am sorry, Mama. I will never do that again."
"It is okay, darling. You didn't know. I am sorry too if I sounded mad." w.a.n.g Reiji's heart melted as she felt her daughter's embrace tightened.
"Meowwww" Misha purred softly as she gently brushed her tail on w.a.n.g Reiji's pants.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.
"Misha!" Europa then climbed down her mother's arms to get her pet cat.
"We almost left her behind, mama. Good thing Misha is a smart cat, she quickly caught up to us." Europa who seemed to be bothered by her mother's unusual gesture, became full of vigor again.
"Oh, sorry Misha. I did not see you back there." w.a.n.g Reiji said as she gave its fur a gentle rub.
"I think mama is tired..." Europa stepped closer to her mother and leaned her head on w.a.n.g Reiji's arm.
"Mama is not tired. She is just hungry. But that is okay. The head chef from our hotel's restaurant is coming over. Any food you want him to cook for you?" w.a.n.g Reiji asked as she lovingly smiled at her daughter.
Before Europa's lips can move to answer her mother's question, she put on her thinking face as she tried to recall the Chairman's request. After a few seconds, she had successfully recalled the soup name.
"I have a request but not for me. This is for Chairman Xu. He wanted chinese oxtail soup, mama."
"Really?" Upon hearing the Chairman's request, the name of the soup evoked nostalgia on w.a.n.g Reiji.
"Something wrong, mama?" Europa asked as her face lit up with curiosity.
"Nothing, it is just your grandmother, my mother, has the best Chinese oxtail soup recipe."
