"Hey! Jiajia! Can you please warn me first before you drop the bomb? I almost drowned to death just now."

Cheng Jia pout her lips and blinked innocently.

"Don't dare give me that innocent face. You can't fool me."

"Big sister, aren't you being unfair? You already spat water on my face. Don't you know I already washed up? Yet, now I smell awful again. I think you must take responsibility."

Jian's mouth fell open as she heaved, "Little sis, aren't you also being unfair? In exchange of me 'accidentally' spitting water on your face, you would like me to manage you?"

She was only answered by several nods.

"Huh! I can't believe this. How come you become my sister? You're so cunning and yet act innocently. You're no innocent, woman..." she stopped and breathe in before continuing, "Well, come on. You spit water on me too so that we're even," Jian said handing the gla.s.s of water to her sister.

Cheng Jia shook her head vigorously, "Big sister Jian, please just do this once with me. This is Director Min's idea. He said you may manage me for the mean time since I am not from any agency."

The other party let out a sigh, "Then what if I refuse?"

Lowering her gaze, Cheng Jia answered, "Then, I just have to look for someone I can trust to manage me but if it will take time then maybe I should just forget the idea," sighing she continued, "I only hoped a better life for my Shuyang, nothing else."

'This cunning acting innocent little sister really has her way of getting what she wanted.'

"Fine! I'll do it."

Ecstatic, Cheng Jia rose from her seat and hugged her sister, "Bis sister Jian, you're really wonderful. I promise to treat you to a good meal once I have my first pay."

She's always like this to her sister. She can never afford to let her sister down as she is the only person she have in her life after their mother died. She swore to her that she will take care of her with the best of her ability since it is mother's wish.

"I don't need it, I just want you to be safe in the industry and have a good life with Shuyang. I don't want mother to think that I'm not taking good care of you."

The little sister's embrace grew tighter with the mention of 'mother', "I may not remember her face but I am thanking mother for giving me a mother-like sister as her replacement."

"Mmmm... I already know how grateful you are so stop hugging me to death."

Instantaneously Cheng Jia let go and giggled softly covering her mouth with her hand like a lady.

"Sorry big sis."

Her mother has had the same mannerism and the more she looked at Cheng Jia, she look much more like their late mom.

Not long, Cheng Jia's phone rang. When she saw the caller ID, she automatically hit the answer b.u.t.ton.

"Luwei..."

"Mommy?"

The moment she heard the feeble voice in the other line, her heart skipped as she felt her eyes well up. There was a moment of silence before she spoke, lovingly.

"Baby, how are you? Mommy misses you so sooo much. Mommy wishes she was and is there with you. Baby..." she paused as she almost choked but when she was about to continue...

"Mommy, I love you too."

Cheng Jia fought hard not to sob when she heard her son said 'I love you too'. It is as if her son understood her well that between her words is her love for him but she need not vocalize 'I love you' anymore.

"Shuyang, baby, you are so sweet and smart. Though mommy didn't say it, you knew what mommy wants to say."

"Because I am mommy's baby that's why I'm smart."

"My son is such a sweet talker, what do I do? I don't want my baby to be s.n.a.t.c.hed by girls when he grew up."

"No worries, mommy. I will always be your baby no matter what."

"Mommy will surely remember that, so no cheating."

"Mmmm, yes mommy. No cheating."

She heard Shuyang giggle a bit in the other line. Cheng Jia knew that when the time really comes, she won't be able to hold her son back. So she satisfied herself about the fact that she still has a lot of time to spend with her baby.

She brushed off the thought aside and remembered Luwei then.

"Baby, where is your Papa?"

There was a slight pause, "Papa, mommy wants to talk to you."

Her Son really thinks ahead.

"Cheng Jia, you don't have to worry about Shuyang. Rest a.s.sured, he is taken cared off."

"Luwei, thank you for taking in Shuyang. I am indebted to you, I don't know how I will be able to repay you."

"It is nothing, little sis. I am happy to have helped you like this. While we can, Shuyang is my responsibility."

Cheng Jia understood what Luwei meant to say.

"If you say so, but then Luwei, I will soon get Shuyang to seek better medical aid here in the main city."

"I understand. If that's the case then let me also move out there."

"What? Why? Luwei, you don't have to. I will be responsible for Shuyang by then."

Cheng Jia heard him sigh, "Gramps will kill me if I just let both of you stay away. He would think I'm being an irresponsible father. Little sis, do you want me to die?"

'Right! I can't separate the father and son now.'

"I'm sorry I forgot about that. Can't I just convince grandpa that you are a responsible lad?"

Cheng Jia asked as he heard Luwei gasped. She really liked to tease him like this.

"Cheng Jia! I can't believe you! You really want me to die? How cruel! Just wait when I see you," he threatened her.

"Papa, don't hurt mommy, please."

She laughed as he heard her son's cute little voice. Though she can't see him, she knew he is wearing this puppy eyes on him to convince his father not to do anything to her.

She heard him grunt lowly, "Ahhh... Of course Shuyang. Your mother and I are just joking around," he paused, "Here, talk to mommy if you doubt papa."

Cheng Jia was smiling ear to ear when she heard Shuyang say...

"Mommy?"

Her heart melt, "Don't worry baby. Papa is just joking. You know how much he cared for both of us, right?"

"Mmmm..." the little one agreed.

"Good. Always be good to papa, okay? And always remember that mommy loves you always."

"Yes mommy, baby Shuyang loves you too."

Cheng Jia wanted to talk to her son longer but she knew he needed to rest to recuperate well. So she have to let him go, promising that she'll be calling the next day.
