The colossal figure bellowed as black coils of smoke started to shroud its ma.s.sive bone figure.
Upon hearing the monster's battle cry, the surrounding corpses went into a frenzy and immediately pounced towards the nearby players.

[One minute left to move towards the middle lane. All players, unable to transfer lane, will be immediately swallowed by the tombs, after the set time limit...]
Four successive system pop-ups immediately appeared on everyone's screen.
"Eh!? Why are there more skulls?" Papa Bear growled as he fended off the corpses that were trying to latch to him. He obviously did not read the pop-ups. "Get off!" The orc growled as he kicked the creatures, who still had a bit of their flesh, hanging in their bones.
In the left lane, the dominant red-colored light coming from the pestering fireflies started to dim. The same thing happened to the other harmless insects. One by one, these nocturnal beetles fell to the muddy ground, devoid of life and color.
In addition, the skeleton creatures disintegrated into dust particles and the humanoid fireflies crippled into nothingness, while the light-house tower with a fiery nest on its top, started to crumble.
JanuaryEmbers suddenly found himself in an awkward position. With no tower to guard him, he found Udil's gaze locked on him.
Das.h.!.+
Although the system pop-ups surprised Al, he did not allow these changes to distract him. The boy was in the zone. In all the matches he has ever played, this was his first time to feel this calmness in his state of mind. Al was totally focused and confident with his thought processes.
"Udil's after me! I'm heading towards the middle lane now! Can someone meet me halfway?!!!" Embers urgently asked for a.s.sistance as he immediately entered the maze of tombs that surrounded the lanes.
Just when Embers had already delved into the deeper part of the maze, he suddenly remembered a blunder. He was not familiar with this part of the map! The Divine Mage gritted his teeth as he weaved through the tight alleys, making sure not to be monotonous with his sense of direction to get away from Udil and safely regroup with his teammates.
Unfortunately, there was no available mini-map for players to check.
The logic was simple. Just find the highest stack of tombs, and you'll get a rough sketch of the maze's layout. However, Embers was panicked, due to the strength that Udil had exhibited in their previous clash. He knew that he'd quickly die against the Human player with a hidden cla.s.s.
Due to his previous search of the 'Firefly Oil,' Al was already a bit familiar with the tomb-maze. He immediately changed direction, instead of following the path that the Divine Mage had taken. His goal was to go to the midlane as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the right lane had already been abandoned. Zhahk, SwitchFoot, and Macca were already on their way to the middle lane. These three knew the importance of a limited event. A black-labeled weapon is on par with a silver-one when it comes to power and hidden skills!
The sp.a.w.n of the corpses seemed to be only limited to the middle area; those who came from the other lanes did not encounter any of the undead creatures along the way.
Sadly, the situation in the middle lane was dire. Although the zombie-like monsters were easy to kill, their numbers were increasing as the seconds pa.s.s by. They seemed to be endless.
"Where are you now?" Zaito sent a message in their team chat, referring to the other two members - Zhahk and JanuaryEmbers. He was busy tossing magic-imbued cards to repel the relentless horde of corpses.
"Almost there." Zhahk, the Divine a.s.sa.s.sin, immediately answered.
"Fvck! I'm lost! ( T___T )" Embers helplessly replied.
On the other hand, WisDOOM's team chat was nearly empty. This bunch of players seemed to be the quiet-type, or maybe they're just used in playing solo.
Udil was the one who broke the momentary silence. "What's the situation there in the middle lane?"
"I'm running out of mana!!!!" CancerIsLife was the first to reply.
"We're almost there. Hold on." Macca followed.
"These skulls are annoying! I want to pound that Zaito's head!" Papa Bear grumbled.
'Zaito?' Al was surprised. It was only now that he had paid particular attention to their opponent's team name. The name seemed to be familiar. 'Oh. How could I forget? So, we've met again, huh? What are the chances of that?' He disbelievingly let out a chuckle.
Udil finally reached the edge of the maze. In a nearby distance, standing between the group was a ma.s.sive corpse holding a scythe made of human bones and a black book.
'The Black Bible!' Al immediately noticed the item in the monster's right hand.
(Grim Reaper, Level 20, Silver V Undead Exorcist)
Although the 'Grim Reaper' was two ranks higher than all of them, with their team's combined attacks, it was not impossible to take down the map's special boss. However, the main issue still remains - will the ten of them help each other?
"Zaito, what's the plan? Thirty-five seconds left before the other lanes will close down. Plus, it's difficult to take down that monster with just the five of us." Pilades asked. He was busy protecting the magician.
"Embers. Stay in your position. Boba will lead you out. We'll try to take down this monster. However, stay focused on the main goal - we'll have to kill all of them to win!" Zaito sent out a message in the team chat.
"Thank you. ( T__T )" JanuaryEmbers replied.
Boba, the Divine Swordsman, swiftly cut his way through the thicket of corpses. He was heading back to the left lane. Time was running out.
However, just when he was a distance away from entering the maze, he found someone blocking the pathway - Udil!
