Chat Group For Magicians 125 Unlocking The Second Mana Circui

The mission details we're immediately processed. I was tasked to go and do this mission this Monday which would be two days from now. Although I am reluctant, it was something I needed to do.

With my trauma in attending school, it is now my goal to remove this trauma once and for all. Although I know the bullies would still be there, I am no longer the Kazuma that they know. I am not the person they can easily humiliate in front of the crowd.

The official mission details appeared on the printed paper in which I quickly made a skim.

"Mission: Investigate Eastern Sakura High's anomalous power awakening.

Mission Duration: until the source and the cause of the event to get eliminated.

Rewards:??? (May change depending on the mission result)

Info: The dark awakening of the students there leads to a dangerous situation that needs an action to avoid the public's eye to suspect the existence of Real Magicians."

Although the mission's time limit is vague, I know that it would really take time to complete. This is not the one time mission like the Hachiko Statue Patrol that I have done last time, this is another mission that involves taking your time finding out who or what causes their awakening.

From the looks of it, the undercover magicians that managed to enter the school already had some lead but I don't even know how I can be helpful in this mission. My Rank is not yet ready to reach Rank 3 although I am already in the final stages to push forward and get the necessary amount of mana to break my limit. 

Wait...

There is a shortcut for me, right? The Mana Circuits. I have plenty of memories to use and even some of Onizuka's memories are not expended yet. I can use this chance to unlock the second Mana Circuit of mine. With the plan in hand, I didn't waste my time and dive once more into my consciousness.

When I arrived, the Mana Tree is glowing red and blue but a bit brighter than last time. It looks like someone had decorated the tree with Christmas lights. The Crystal Seed is hovering around its leaves and seems to be tending it. When the seed detected my presence, it quickly stopped its work and move forward to me.

"Oh, what a surprise that I saw you here kid. Are you here to unlock your next Mana Circuit?"

"You got it. I need to increase my ability as soon as possible so that I can prepare for my mission."

"Ha, then I will be taking the remaining memories of the first guy you defeated alright?"

"Go ahead. I don't have much use on his memories except as a currency to unlock my mana circuit."

"Wow, what a cruel remark. Well, I don't really care though since it is indeed true. Prepare this time, kid, it's a bit more painful than the first one. You need to brace a bit to endure the pain. Are you ready?"

"Huff, alright. Begin!"

As soon as I gave out the signal, I suddenly felt a heavy pang of power in my body and something like a piercing pain almost destroyed my sanity. It was very painful! All of my nerves are tingling in pain which is beyond what a normal human can endure. Good thing that with my body already surpa.s.sed what a normal human's pain resistance has. If I did it when I am still a normal human, then I would get crazy in a matter of seconds.

It didn't take too long before a few information opened up for me that was not present in the past. Especially a certain magic that I suddenly unlocked. I have no idea how I managed to get one magic skill but it is not something I learned in the past. Then, what the h.e.l.l is this new skill? Is it one of the memories that was repressed after my mana circuits are sealed up?

I counted at least two hours before the pain gradually stopped which is something I am expecting to happen. I fall to my knees after the pain stopped. My whole body is shaking to the bone due to the aftereffect of the pain. The seed hovered above me and gave me a bit of mana that allowed me to recover a lot faster.

"...Thanks..."

"Good grief, you have grown tougher. I thought you would go insane from the pain but you managed to hold your sanity altogether which is already commendable. So, any changes?"

"Yeah, I got a new piece of memory of a skill called Dark Icicle. An ice-dark magic."

The seed paused and hovered above me. "Let me see and confirm what it looks like. Can you use it already?"

"I am not sure but let me try."

I concentrated my mana and soon, a few sharp ice appeared floating in my palm. The only difference between the normal ice and the Ice that I made is that the color is colored violet. It was liked it got tainted by darkness.

The seed twirled around before it stops in front of my face. "This is a dark magic Kazuma. This is similar to the evil magic used by the outcast magicians but it is also different."

"I don't understand."

"Although they are similar dark magic, your magic did not contain pure evil and pure kindness. In short, this magic is a neutral one without an affinity of good and evil. The only thing I am not sure is that, why this magic is in your repressed memory? Are you perhaps a magician in the past?"

"No, that is something I have done. I didn't become a magician until recently and all of the magic spells I got are all given. Except for the blue fireball that I managed to comprehend, I did not learn any magic without experiencing it."

"You are getting more and more mysterious day by day kid. I am not sure what to do anymore with you."

I look into my palm with the small shard of ice in my palm. Just who am I really? What are these strange memories piling up in me that doesn't make sense? What is the reason my mana circuits are being sealed? Who did it and why? There are so many questions pa.s.sing through my brain without any answers to them.

After saying goodbye to Lil' Blue, I returned to reality and stare at my hands. Is there any chance that my repressed memories had something to do with my parents and their sudden deaths? As I was looking at my palm, I noticed that the Necklace of Flame that I got last time glowed red and now has a darker color than the usual. Did I ever did the wrong thing unlocking one of my mana circuits? Only one thing is sure, with this mission, I am not going to back down easily and will face my fears. I don't want to be a coward again.
