The new guys who have no idea what is going on just stare at me and the old students. They have practically no idea what was going on with us. Even Ms. Suzuka is confused.

"Uh… care to fill me in on what was going on?" Ms. Suzuka asked.

One of the former cla.s.smates of mine who seems to be not so shocked by my arrival whispered to Ms. Suzuka. After that, she nodded in response after understanding what was currently happening.

"Oh, why you didn't say anything to me Kazuma that you are a former student in this school?"

"I don't really have to right? And besides, it will ruin the element of surprise."

"Hmm, makes sense. Still, you need to introduce yourself again. There are other people who still have no idea who you are currently so it's best if you start over again."

"Should I go back out to the door and come in again?"

"Oh, come on, just introduce yourself, why go to a ha.s.sle in doing that?"

I smiled at Ms. Suzuka's replies. I am just testing her if she is someone who doesn't tolerate student-friendly interactions or not because what my former homeroom teacher is the exact opposite of a student-friendly guy. Good thing she is somewhat good and she is not forceful.

I step back into the podium and bowed down, before introducing myself again. "For those who know me, just don't listen, while for those who don't, good day, I am Kazuma f.u.kuyama. I am a former student in this school and several of my cla.s.smates here are my former cla.s.smates in the past. So for those who did not know me, nice to meet you all!"

The new people nodded their heads while the others were talking and whispering. While everyone is busy clapping, my eyes wandered into the very back and saw the bully who made my whole day broken. As soon as my eyes landed on him, he already brought out the "I'll be watching you." sign that he keeps on doing in the past. It might have worked on me in the past but today? Nah, petty tricks.

"So, about your seat, how about the seat next to the girl with black hair over the side of the window, on the fourth row?"

"Ma'am, there is someone sitting there already," one student said.

"He or she is not currently seated so that seat is considered vacant. Let the owner of that seat know when he or she gets back."

Ugh, seriously, are you joking or what? Because it is so lame. Anyways, I moved my feet and goes to my respective seat. My seatmate cast me with a strange look in her eyes and nodded like she was acknowledging my presence before she returned to her world… Oh well, I used to be like her in the past. I didn't disturb her because it didn't really matter much.

"Since everything is settled, let's get our lessons started."

Surprisingly, the lessons that they are conducting is just easy. I easily managed to catch up with everyone and do good too. Is this what happens whenever your IQ increases with your rank?

What made me get amazed is that all of the new knowledge I get is no longer easily forgotten by me. It was like all of the lessons are being imprinted into my mind.

Erina made a few attempts to talk to me since she is just behind me but it always ends in failure because the teacher would notice her.

There is one thing that I am able to observe though. The girl beside me is someone who seems awfully quiet. She never partic.i.p.ated in any kind of recitation and during the roll call, she is not called like she was being neglected.

I frowned at this because she is not that easily missed and although I have no idea what her name is currently, it was already quite weird. It was like she was nonexistent.

I frowned a bit but she seemed to be not someone who suffers in a bullying act so I didn't really ask.

After that, lunchtime arrived. My first main task is to make rounds around the school and look for any kind of suspicious activities happening around the campus. Since I am already a master of mana scan, scanning the whole place would take a lot of mana so I did not do a wide scan, only a certain place would do.

I escaped from the cla.s.sroom because my cla.s.smates would immediately be curious to me and before they can even notice my presence disappear, I am no longer in that area.

When everything was good, I made my way around the school while my Mana scan is activated. So far, there are no items and humans that seems to be radiating with mana that is suspicious enough for me.

I visited the cafeteria since most students would be busy eating at lunch and walk past most students while the mana scan is activated but there is nothing to ordinary at the moment.

Although the place is jam-packed with students, I did not detect any kind of mana in the surroundings except for the person selling in the cafeteria. The vendor is one of the disguised magicians currently helping uncover who is the perpetrator so I did not suspect him.

After a complete search, I didn't succeed in finding the source. It looks like it is a failure for now. This mission is not as easy as it sounded to me. But that doesn't mean that this mission is impossible. This is just my first day and this mission has no limit so why would I be in a hurry?

Then, before I can resume to another place, I suddenly detected a sort of magic stream on the surroundings. The mana pulsing in the air is very faint and hard to detect but because I was focused enough, I was able to catch the waves.

Who is it? Is it the perpetrator? Or a person awakening to his or her power? The latter possibility is very high but I can't deny that there is a small chance that the holder of the pulsing mana is the perpetrator. The only thing is… who is it?

With a small faint power that is almost pulsing everywhere and with a crowd, finding it would be like finding a needle in a haystack. Just as I was getting confused, I finally detected who is the one releasing the pulse of mana. My seatmate, who seemed to be always neglected is producing that pulse of mana.
