She cutely bowed to the crowd before shooting them all a mischievous wink.
Around this time, the Internet was in an uproar too. The official live broadcast was flooded with people crying and then licking their screen. When had their G.o.ddess looked so radiant before? Really when people were happy, they also looked very beautiful.
But it wasn't just that. Qiu Yue has finally talked about what she truly felt, and cried in front of them.
The fans who hadn't been able to go too could feel their eyes well up with tears.
"Don't cry like this! We're here with you, he's also here, you have so many people! It really hurts my heart!"
There were people who felt that her comment, that she didn't truly want to be a star, was very lax.
"So if you didn't want to be one why were you here?"
And yet the idols who couldn't understand why she'd said it felt their hearts clench. It was hard to be someone loved by everyone. You had to give a bit of yourself to everyone and in the end, there was nothing left to give to their partners.
It wasn't just that, the rejection people faced when they announced that they were dating or getting married wasn't just words. It was getting better, but there was a reason why not many people dared to openly announce their partners.
Even now, while Qiu Yue completely ignored the hate, it didn't mean they didn't exist. And if she has read them, even she couldn't guarantee that they wouldn't hurt her. Chances were that she'd be torn to shreds with the sharp, needle-like words they threw at her. Picking at every fault and situation she'd lived through in her life. She didn't have that much fort.i.tude to say that they wouldn't affect her at all.
She knew that what mattered were her fans, friends and Qiao Feng but knowing didn't mean that she'd be able to remember it all the time.
Funny enough, the pain made you forget about everything else.
Even then, she'd chosen to do this. Why? It's because she knew pain, one she couldn't control. Here she could choose to not read the comments. But say something happened to him, the sadness and regret would devour her alive.
But along with all that hate, there were people who were back on her side and had dragged along with the others too.
Seeing someone so vulnerable, the way her eyes had turned red after crying and she'd still given everyone such a beautiful smile, how could they bear to hate her? Seeing such a cute girl talk about how she'd been lost, how her fans were her strength, how she felt like she'd betrayed them by being with him...
"#PureProtectionProgramme army! March ahead and bury all negative comments!!! Let's play a game... hehehehehe, type down the first compliment you heard letter by letter! Without break, if broken start again MUHAHAHAHA!"
You could guess what the scenario was.
However, none of the people currently in the concert venue knew about what was going on. They could see the real person, why would they look at the pictures? Some were, of course, posting the pictures, but they too didn't look away for more than a few seconds.
After all, no matter how they took the picture their idol, QiuQiu looked perfect anyways!
And perhaps the one person who hadn't been able to take his eyes off of her for even a second was Qiao Feng.
It felt unreal. Yes, they'd spent almost a week together now, but he still couldn't believe it.
When he'd walked towards her with the umbrella that day, he'd felt like it was all a waste. The only reason he'd gone was that he couldn't let an idol under his care behave in such a way. But seeing that normally headstrong, stubborn and arrogant girl with empty eyes, as her wet hair hung around her thin shoulders.
It wasn't as though he'd never seen a heartbroken girl. He'd in fact been the one doing the breaking all this time.
Yet that time, perhaps it was the contrast of her usual personality it made him frown. His chest had felt suppressed. She shouldn't have been like this, but he couldn't understand why he had felt this way.
Then he'd heard her sing. Perhaps no one could fully understand his connection to music. He'd lost his mother in when he was young and since then he hadn't been able to touch his piano or sing.
But for her, for her concert, he'd sung with her. After a long time, he'd sung something.
After his mother's death, he'd stopped singing and playing the piano. Since that day he hasn't touched the black and white keys he'd once been inseparable from.
After some time, he'd learned to accept her loss. His father had even gotten remarried after 10 years. He now had a stepmother, and he truly accepted her as family. And yet something... something held him back.
It wasn't as though as hands would shake when he touched a piano, nor did he feel nervous before singing. He just felt as though he had no reason to do so either. That was probably worse than anything else for him. It was almost as though he'd lost his love for singing and the piano.
He was looking at her standing on the stage, and she was so beautiful. Her beauty wasn't due to her looks but added to her presence. That girl who was so overbearing and elegant in front of others still managed to act spoilt with him. It was because of that he couldn't help but spoil her, because she never asked anything of anyone, other than him. (E/N: love-tinted gla.s.ses are so very wonderful…)
She was very stubborn. Once she'd decided on something, she'd never go back. That was how she could keep looking for the best in people.
Many would think that because she always tried to believe in the best of a person, it was because she'd never faced betrayal. Because she'd never faced the worst of humans. However, that wasn't true. She had been through things, and yet she chose to believe in the best.
(E/N: How does QF actually know this…?)
(A/N: Secret!~)
He knew that people felt that she was being naive and stupid. But he didn't agree. Qiao Feng knew that Qiu Yue did indeed walk a path, where others could hurt her. But didn't that just mean he had to make sure she didn't get hurt? He never wanted her to change, because he knew that she had her own reasons to be the person she had chosen to be.
Seeing her peeking at him, smiling cutely before giving a victory sign, Qiao Feng's expression broke into a soft sweet smile.
Qiu Yue took a deep breath, taking in Qiao Feng's smile and then turned to the audience once again.
She'd prepared two songs, and she was now going to sing the second and last one for today.
To choose this song, she'd debated and delineated for a long time, finally ended up with this one. She felt slightly nervously, not knowing if she could put her feelings into words with this song.
The lights dimmed slowly before just a sliver of it barely illuminated her, and as the music started, she no longer had time to debate.
"Tell me why it is, that my heart has forgotten~"
"What it's like to love someone?~"
"Soon we will have to part our ways, and meet again another day~"
"For that is what I see, how you and I are meant to be~"
"Remembering' the days when we were very young, I watched as you tied my shoes in the sun~"
"And suddenly you smiled at me, so timidly, and I was taken by surprise,
And I saw the light, in your eyes~"
Every time she saw herself in his eyes, it was as though she was looking at herself for the first time. She'd never seen anyone look at her like that before him.
Slowly the lights brightened, s.h.i.+ning on Qiu Yue.
"I just don't want to fall in love, for the sake of wanting love, yet it was you~"
"Who gave me strength and courage to love openly~"
Perhaps only she knew how true this was for her.
"From now until the end of time, we promised on this journey~"
"That no matter what occurs, these hands will never part... forever~"
No matter how many times they parted, she'd do whatever she could to find him.
As she sang this song, everyone in the audience knew that this was her song for him. With that line, they cheered loudly, happy for their QiuQiu.
"Don't you think it's strange, that when you suddenly came my way, the scenery seems special day to day~"
"And when the flowers, birds, and sea and sky, the wind, the mountains, and the sweet sun~"
"Come together in harmony, our love was meant to be~"
"I found the last piece to your broken heart, though it seemed unsolvable at the very start~"
"And ever since, you hold me tight, throughout the night~"
Once again cheers broke out, along with whistles and it made Qiu Yue want to laugh. She grinned at the cute people cheering in front of her.
"I promise that with all my might I'll follow you~ For eternity~"
She closed her eyes for a moment, promising this to him and to herself.
"Until this very moment now, I took a long way around, but then you came~"
"So finally, I can love more openly~"
"From now until the end of time, we'll chase tomorrow's dream of new life~"
"So no matter what occurs, we'll always look ahead~"
"I just don't want to fall in love, for the sake of wanting love, yet it was you~"
"Who gave me strength and courage to love openly~"
"From now until the end of time, we promised on this journey~"
"That no matter what occurs, these hands will never part... forever~"
The music faded away and only Qiu Yue's voice remained as she sang the very last syllables.
After waiting for the cheers to subside, Qiu Yue bowed once again.
"Thank you."
Just those two words carried the amount of grat.i.tude she held to the hundreds of people in front of her. And they could feel the weight of her emotions. Suddenly they felt very happy, blessed even, to have known such an idol. Being a fan of such a person... it was really worth it. To them, she was an existence that made them smile because she was so sweet and pure and true to them.
In fact, those two words were so strong that they echoed her sentiments through the screen. To all those people watching online, the ones who were fans were already sold, but even people who had just been dragged along to watch felt drawn in.
The haters? ...they kept hating. You can't help people who were intent on believing she was a b.i.t.c.h.
After Qiu Yue thanked them all for coming she walked towards the steps leading to the backstage area. Just as she was about to step down, her eyes met with Qiao Feng's and she couldn't help but smile brightly. The light step on the first step of the short stairs turned into a push as she slipped the stairs entirely, launching herself into him. Her arms went around his neck and his large steady hands secured her waist.
She could feel his chest rumble as he laughed at her excitement and Qiu Yue sighed in contentment.
