Taking one final glance, they looked at their back and confirmed that the vicinity of the cursed forest is no longer in sight.
Likewise, the viscosity of the air that seems to make the atmosphere a bit depressing is also gone. It was only at that time that Mu Lingxi and her friends finally took their break.
"We managed to survive until the last day, we are now just a step closer to winning this compet.i.tion. Let us do our best. Fighting!!!"
Mu Lingxi reckoned as she tries to boost the spirit of her teammates.
Exhaustion was a given provided that they had been competing with the other teams for a straight seven whole days. In fact, the group was already starting to feel the weariness in their bodies.
Nevertheless, the gleam in their eyes never lost its l.u.s.ter but instead, it is becoming more and more obvious. The excitement bubbling in their hearts fuels their battered body since day one.
Hearing Mu Lingxi's words of encouragement further the group's fighting spirit. Antic.i.p.ation for the impeding success was clearly written on the face of each of them.
They rested on the spot for a while. After feeling that their fatigue vanished and their mind refreshed, they walked out and headed back to their journey.
"Today is the last day of compet.i.tion, I wonder how many remaining groups are there..."
Long Yue thought out loud as the group continues to move forward.
They had been wandering around for quite some time now. But so far, they have not encountered a single group yet.
From the current looks of it, it seems that a large quant.i.ty of the partic.i.p.ating groups had already been eliminated over the pa.s.sing of days within the arena.
The place in which the compet.i.tion was held was surprisingly large compared to what they actually expected. From the very first day of the compet.i.tion, Mu Lingxi and her friends were constantly on the move and did not dare to dawdle in one spot for long.
Yet despite that, they realized that they have not yet gotten a full grasp of their location. Their instinct was telling them that there is more in that place that they have not yet ventured.
It feels like they were only seeing the tip of an iceberg. The place seems to extend far beyond the reach of their eyes.
Right now, the group was standing on another lush greenery littered by flora and peonies of varying sizes. The place was full of different colors giving it a festive vibe stretching up unto the horizon.
It creates a great contrast from the other places that the group had been ever since they arrived in the arena. It looks like they had been teleported again to another place without them knowing.
Somehow, Mu Lingxi had a feeling that the surroundings of the place that they were teleported to resemble the entrance to Magus Academia.
Such lush greenery littered by colorful flowers that looks like tiny jelly beans from a distance is just like the first place that greeted her when she first set her foot on the Magus Academia.
It definitely had a striking resemblance to the place that they were currently located.
The wind blows from the east and a light fragrance of flowers drifted in the tranquil and vast greenery.
Not too far from where they are, another group of sorceresses was observing the area.
From afar the beautiful figures stood amidst the file of flowers with their hands behind their back. It seems that these sorceresses still had the luxury of time to enjoy the view.
The group of sorceresses decided to take the liberty to stood calm amidst the resplendent garden of flowers. Their action shows how bold they are knowing that they were currently in a survival quest.
It was unsure whether these sorceresses simply don't care if someone would ambush them or is it just that they were confident that they will be able to handle no matter what kind of sneak attacks will come to them.
Their calm disposition portrays an image that felt so peaceful that it seemed as if it could have been a painting.
"One more group to defeat..."
Yun Xue said as he ushered his teammates to moved forward quietly. The group carefully approached the beautiful figures and hide somewhere within a safe distance from the group of sorceresses.
Yun Xue communicated with his friends through hand gestures to relay his plan. The plan is to use the element of surprise to launch an attack on the group of sorceresses.
They intend to catch the other group off guard and defeat them swiftly if everything goes smoothly according to their plan.
It was fortunate for them that they managed to acquire a decent amount of weapons when they were wandering the place ever since they left the cursed forest.
So far, they were able to arm each of them with a sword. The only downside about this is that Mu Lingxi and her other teammates were not fully accustomed to using a sword.
Only Fan Lei can use the sword to its full extent. Nonetheless, it was better for them to have something to protect themselves rather than having nothing at all.
Discreetly moving in the camouflage of the lush greenery, Mu Lingxi and her friends positioned themselves and brandish their sword. Ready to attack once given the signal.
The sharp edge of the sword cut through the wind producing a low swis.h.i.+ng sound as it moves. It was unsure whose blade it was, but out of the blue, the refraction of light betrayed their presence.
It was similar to a mirror that has been strike by a ray of light. It reflected light somewhere and this managed to catch the attention of one of the sorceresses.
"Be on your guards!"
One of the sorceresses shouted and her voice echoed in the area. Her voice had a clear ring to it. A little reminiscent of the jingling of bells and it felt very soothing to the ears.
Mu Lingxi and her friends turned their heads over to look, and they saw a young lady dressed in purple standing not too far away. She seemed to be in her twenties, and there was a slightly cold and aloof air around her.
Being able to reach until the very last part of the compet.i.tion was an obvious indication that this other group of sorceresses possessed a decent talent and keen observation skills.
So far, based on what they had experienced firsthand inside the arena, it was clear to them how hard it was to last until the seventh day without any survival means.
These sorceresses were not good for nothing, big b.o.o.bs no brain ladies. Underestimating them just based on their feminine disposition and angel-like face would be a fatal mistake.
Since their cover has been blown already, then there is no point in hiding anymore. Thus the group walked out from their hiding spot and revealed themselves.
Mu Lingxi's group had been concealing their presence from the moment they started approaching the sorceresses' location.
As such, they have not yet seen how the other group looks like. It was only at this moment that they were able to have a clear look at their compet.i.tor.
As soon as they step out, beautiful faces as if of a fairy greeted Mu Lingxi's group. Their unkempt appearance and scowling faces do little to hide their beauty that could easily cause a downfall of a nation.
The sorceresses before them naturally commanded a disposition of elegance. With just one look, one would find oneself unwittingly holding one's breath.
The young sorceresses before them were simply too beautiful and words were not enough to describe how they look. Every single aspect of them seemed to be the embodiment of beauty itself, making it impossible to pick out a single flaw in it.
Even the dirt in their faces and the casual ripped on their clothes blends perfectly to their beauty.
Mu Lingxi in her disguise as Su Yan, together with her friends were known as the best group of warlocks. They were famed not just because of their good looks but also they have talents and sufficient skills in their field of expertise to back it up.
If they will going to have a female counterpart, that would be the school belles, and this is the same group that they were facing right now.
"Shen Biru, it seems that we are on opposing sides right now. I hope that you won't take it personally later once we defeated you."
Mu Yanxiao was obviously part of this group. In fact, she seems to be the de facto leader of this school belles. It was she who spoke those provoking words.
"I bet Shen Biru was having fun since she was able to join the best warlock group."
Another sorceress b.u.t.ted in as she simpered. Her smile was too forced that it was not hard to notice how fake her smile was.
The corner of the other sorceresses' mouth quirked up as they listened on the sidelines.
Normally, if this was on the other occasions Shen Biru will have her head held high with her nose sticking on the air. Her disposition will not pale in comparison even when placed next to this school belles.
But due to her sorry appearance because of being trapped by the strangler vines in the cursed forest, her usual bewitching posture matched with her disposition of a femme fatale seems awkward.
