Before Joseph could spout any more nonsense Lu Xion's punch fell on his face, tossing him over the chair on which he was about to sit. He rolled few times on the floor before stoping near Yeti's feet, who lifted him up in air holding collar, ready to send a deadly punch across his face.

"Yeti… Put him down" With the ear machine attached, he heard XM's order and obediently withdrew his hand, making Joseph crash on the ground.

"Mei…." Feng Jianyu quickly lifted her chin up to look into her eyes. Both his hands cupped her cheeks while his dark eyes filled with concern. He didn't want her to take this blame on herself, this was not her fault. How can she be blamed, she equally suffered at the hands of Kong's.

As their eyes met, he was shocked to see her clear and calm eyes. He expected to see tears, guilt, pain but where was all that? He saw her giving him an a.s.suring smile, "I'm fine, don't worry. I'm not that delicate. I got this under control. Trust me"

He observed her expression closely. Upon ensuring that she was not faking it and is absolutely fine, his tensed face eased up.

Xiu Mei got down from the bed and walked near Joseph who was sitting on the floor. "My love for your family was no less than yours. I am really sorry about what happened to them. But if you are thinking that you can hold me responsible for everything, that's delusional of you"

She took out a plain white handkerchief from her pocket and pa.s.sed it to Joseph to clean the blood from the corner of his lips.

"I was discharged of all the accusations the moment Uncle Xavier chose Rose over me. If Rose suffered here, I too suffered somewhere in Country Y because of the leaked information by Uncle Xavier. In that case, I should hold him responsible, right?" She asked, her brows rose.

"Look! I'm not accusing him, but neither can you hold me responsible for Rose and Auty Marth's death. I'm not going to take the blame of Kong's dirty work" She said firmly and crouched down to let him see her eyes. Her tone sounded dangerous, "Trust me! You don't even want to know what they did to me. But I'll definitely show you what I'll do with them"

Joseph's eyes flickered looking at Alice. He realized how unaffected she is at his failed attempt to hold her responsible for everything. Moreover, judging by her last line, she definitely suffered something at the hands of Kong's and now she doesn't have any good intentions against them.

His glanced at the two men, the tall bodyguard blocking his way out, and the Doctor standing by her side. Their presence and fearless aura does not belongs to a common man and the way they treated her, she is definitely someone important to them.

His brows furrowed recalling past events and the sudden freedom movement carried out in North City. He was not a fool and understood that Alice's sudden presence in Country B and destruction of the Kong's base can't be coincidental but somehow related to her. She is back in the Country to make Kong's pay for their sins.

Xiu Mei got up and took few steps away from him, "It's true Uncle Xavier helped me that night but you don't know how much I tried to convince him to not involve himself in this matter and leave me be. But he adamantly followed me till the dockyard to help me board the s.h.i.+p. That was his selfless love for me and I'll forever be indebted for that"

"I can't bring back Rose and Aunty Martha. But I can definitely help Uncle Xavier with his mental condition" She noticed Joseph lifted up his head at this statement, "Yes! If you allow me, I want to send him to Zeng Research center where I received my treatment for two years. The medical facility there is unprecedented, and he will receive the best medical care possible. I'll personally make sure of that"

"I-Is this possible? Can he really be normal once again?" Joseph's lips trembled.

"I'm afraid I'm not the right person to answer this question" shaking her head she looked at w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ for help, who nodded his head in affirmation. "Yes! I've seen Xavier's reports, his case is difficult but definitely, he can be healed by therapies, correct medications, and family support, which is you"

"Thank you Dr. w.a.n.g" Xiu Mei sighed in relief before turning back to Joseph.

Joseph sighed, "I can't leave this country right now. I'm the rebels' leader and have decided to support Qingzhou in Presenditial election to get revenge for my family first. Once Kong's are stripped of there power, it would be easier to punish them lawfully. Might be uncle's condition improves on seeing getting justice for Rose"

"That's your wishful thinking to see Kong's behind jail" Xiu Mei commented "Give me 24 hours. I'll give you satisfactory revenge for what those dirty Kong's did to Rose. I welcome you to either become part of this and avenge for your family or choose to go a separate way and sulk all your life"

Joseph gave her a complicated gaze and spoke after a minute of silence. "Are you doing this to free yourself from guilt?"

"No! I AM NOT GUILTY. I won't accept it no matter how hard you try. I'm doing this solely for that man who nurtured me for sixteen years and warned me beforehand when the danger approached near me. That's it"

"Fine! 24 hours it is"

IN THE CAR WHILE GOING BACK

Xiu Mei wanted to discuss her plan and requested everyone to head back to the old building first before departing for South City.

Lu Xion doesn't want to eat dog food again and took a separate car as per his previous arrangement and leave the couple alone. While Joseph followed them in w.a.n.g s.h.i.+'s car after the latter a.s.sured him that Xavier will not be mistreated due to his attack on Xiu Mei and will be looked after with utmost care.
