Xin Mei rubbed her eyes when she saw the person who was standing in front of her. She thought she was imagining that person in her tiredness.

She rubbed her eyes and pinched her hand but the same person was still standing in front of her.

"Husband," she squealed loudly and rushed towards him.

Su Yuchen opened his arms wide and let his wife hug him. Xin Mei jumped on him and tightly wrapped her arms around him. Su Yuchen also wrapped his arms around her, hugging her tight.

Both husband and wife hugged each other tightly. They took in the fragrance of one another. Both of them had missed one another a lot and now in the arms of their loved one, they were feeling calm and serene.

Su Yuchen hugged Xin Mei tight, not letting her go. He placed his head on her shoulder and closed his eyes, feeling peaceful.

Ah! Finally, he was in heaven. He never thought, one day he would miss someone so badly, more badly than Mian.

"What are you doing here?" Xin Mei broke the hug and looked at him with wide eyes.

"I was in a neighboring city, to attend some meeting. I thought why not visit you? I have missed you so much and your arms are a welcoming home to me."

Su Yuchen tiredly placed his head against her and looked in her eyes. Xin Mei smiled and caressed his cheeks before anxiety took over her senses.

"But what if someone saw you? You know we are a secret couple."

Su Yuchen could see the fear in her eyes, so he spoke with a.s.surance, "don't worry. I have made all the arrangements. No one will know that I have come here. Don't worry. Now again hug me."

Su Yuchen again pulled Xin Mei in his arms. He gently stroked her hairs and back, confirming that Xin Mei was really in his arms, he wasn't seeing a dream like all other nights.

Once satisfied with the hug, Su Yuchen broke it and looked at the face of Xin Mei.

"By the way, what have you done to your face?" he asked and with concern ran his hand over her cheeks.

"Oh, this is makeup. I forget to remove it in the excitement of seeing you. Let me go to the bathroom to remove it."

Xin Mei was about to run in the bathroom when Su Yuchen stopped her. "Let me help you."

Su Yuchen carried her to the bathroom and made her sit on the washbasin counter. "Where is your makeup remover?"

"On the vanity table."

Su Yuchen nodded his head and went to retrieve some cotton and makeup remover. Meanwhile, Xin Mei dangled her legs not believing her husband had really come to meet her, how sweet!

Su Yuchen returned to the bathroom. He poured makeup remover on the cotton swap and started to remove makeup of Xin Mei. His movements were very gentle when he rubbed the cotton on her skin.

He felt bad that Xin Mei had to apply so much makeup on her delicate skin. With makeup, her skin would become rough. What if she lost her natural beauty?

"Wife, you should not apply so much makeup. You are naturally beautiful. You don't need makeup." He scolded her lightly.

"I know." Xin Mei shrugged. "My beauty is the reason that I have to apply makeup. The last scenes required me to look ugly."

"Still, from next time try to avoid it. I don't want your skin to have any reaction because of makeup."

"Don't worry." Xin Mei took his hand and squeezed it. "I also care about my skin. I am applying creams on my face so it doesn't have any effect of makeup."

Su Yuchen nodded his head, still feeling bad that she had to apply makeup.

Su Yuchen removed her makeup with the remover. He ensured that there was no makeup left on her face. Once satisfied, he washed her face with water.

Xin Mei chuckled at his actions and teased, "I am not a kid that you are was.h.i.+ng my face like a baby."

Su Yuchen ignored her and cleaned her face with a towel. Once done, he pulled Xin Mei down the counter when Xin Mei stopped him.

"You have asked me about my face. What about your face mister? Why are there big eye bags under your eyes?"

Xin Mei looked at his eyes with dark circles. She felt a pinch in her heart. She felt bad that her hubby didn't get to sleep properly.

"For how long did you sleep each night?" she asked with concern.

Su Yuchen who heard the concern in her voice lied to her. He didn't want her to get worried because of himself. "I slept eight hours a day, as ordered by you."

"Liar," she accused. "A person who slept eight hours a day can not have such dark circles."

"Ok, I slept seven hours."

He again lied and this time Xin Mei glared at him, "try again."

Su Yuchen sighed in defeat and raised his hands in surrender. "I slept for three hours a day. I couldn't fall asleep without you in my arms. I tried to, but failed miserably."

Xin Mei gasped before pulling him to the bedroom. "Su Yuchen, this is bad. This is very bad. How can you become so habitual to me that you can't sleep without my presence beside you? This will not do Su Yuchen. Now come and sleep with me."

Xin Mei pulled Su Yuchen towards the room. He felt bad upon seeing so much worry in her eyes.

"Don't worry about me. I have told you I have insomnia. I am habitual of not sleeping for days. So don't worry, sleepless nights are no big deal for me."

Xin Mei again glared at him. "How can I not worry? What will I do if something happens to you because you haven't slept for days? How will I answer grandma? Huh? Why can't you understand me?"

Xin Mei scolded Su Yuchen badly. He heard her like an obedient child. She entered the room with him and asked him to change his dress. Meanwhile, she also changed her dress.

"Now come, we should sleep."

Xin Mei sighed and pulled him towards the table on which packed food was placed. She opened the packs and served food to Su Yuchen. Su Yuchen also served food for her.

They both took seats beside each other and started to feed each other. Xin Mei felt bad whenever she looked in his eyes. At a closer inspection, he was looking more tired and sleepy.

"Food is done, now we should sleep." Xin Mei spoke hurriedly and stood up from the couch.

"Wait," Su Yuchen spoke and pulled her beside him on the couch. "Let me kiss you first."

With that, Su Yuchen tenderly placed his lips on her. Before he could deepen the kiss, Xin Mei pushed him back.

"Done with a kiss, now come and sleep."

Su Yuchen groaned when he heard her. They both made their way towards the bed and fell on it. The moment head of Su Yuchen touched the pillow, he fell asleep.

Xin Mei looked at Su Yuchen who was looking so peaceful when sleeping. She could see that he hadn't slept without her. She felt a pinch in her heart.

"Oh husband," she sighed and brushed his hairs with her fingers. "If your condition has turned to this when I was only gone for a week then what will you do if I had to leave for a month or longer?"

She placed her head on his chest and looked up at him from time to time.

'No doubt why Grandma was so worried for him? He doesn't lag in playing with his health.'

Next day, when Xin Mei woke up, it was still dark outside. She s.h.i.+fted on her place and looked at the only source of light.

"You are leaving?" she asked Su Yuchen who was wearing his clothes.

"I am sorry to wake you up." He apologized guiltily. "And yes, I am leaving. In this hour of the day, no one will catch me leaving your room."

Xin Mei sighed and felt bad when she heard him. She wanted to spend some more time with him.

"Don't be sad." Su Yuchen took a seat beside her and patted on her head. "Today is your last scene. Then you are returning home to me."

Xin Mei sighed and nodded her head. Su Yuchen gently pecked her head before leaving the room.

"Is car ready w.a.n.g Wei?" he asked w.a.n.g Wei who was standing outside the room.

"Yes, boss."

w.a.n.g Wei was going to take him back to the neighboring city before returning. Su Yuchen knew that Huang Chu was tired so he had given him the night to have his fill of sleep.

When Su Yuchen reached the neighboring city, he sent back w.a.n.g Wei and the same time Huang Chu approached him.

"How are you feeling now, Huang Chu?"

"All active Boss." He replied. "Boss, I have something about which I want to talk to you."

"Speak."

"Boss, our private investigators were asking if we should continue the search of Miss Mian or should we discontinue it."
