Later that night, Su Yuchen did not return home during his regular time. His phone was also unreachable. When he picked up the call, he ended it in a minute saying that he was busy.

In concern and worry, Xin Mei called Huang Chu. He informed that some authorities had arrived at the office of Su Yuchen and were inquiring about some deal.

Heart of Xin Mei sunk in her stomach when she heard Huang Chu. She could remember the words of Gu Biyu and her lawyer. 

'No, no, no, no, I can't let him go to jail!'

Immediately, she called Gu Biyu, telling her to prepare the papers to transfer the property of Su Yuchen at her name as soon as possible. She was feeling h.e.l.l worried and nervous about Su Yuchen.

She could not let anything happen to Su Yuchen.

The next two days flew away with Xin Mei worrying about Su Yuchen. She had noticed that Su Yuchen was busy somewhere, which made her more worried.

When Gu Biyu gave her the property papers, she promised her that she would get the papers signed as soon as possible. She felt bad for Gu Biyu but the logic of Gu Biyu was also clear, she wanted to prove to Su Yuchen that she had always loved him.

One day, when Su Yuchen returned home, he found Xin Mei lost in her thoughts. She was thinking about Gu Biyu and the past of Su Yuchen. She wanted to know about his past.

She felt that she had given him enough time to hide his feelings. After talking with Gu Biyu, her urges had increased by many folds. After meeting his stepmother, she wanted to know some more about his real mother.

She wanted to introduce Su Yuchen to Gu Biyu, making his family one. She wanted to remove all the secrets which their family had.

"What happened Mei? Where are you lost? Thinking about your handsome husband?" Su Yuchen teased and wrapped his arm around her waist.

"Yes, I was thinking about you." 

Xin Mei started to pull on his s.h.i.+rt, feeling her heart heavy with a lot of things which she was hiding from Su Yuchen, like how she had sent the signed property papers to Gu Biyu. She also had many things about which she wanted to ask from Su Yuchen.

"Chen, when will you open up to me?" She sighed and looked up from under her eye's lashes. 

"Am I not already open up to you?" he smiled care freely. He looked at her.

"No, you are not." Xin Mei shook her head and bite the inner of her cheeks. "It has been nearly two years that we are married but still, you have not opened up to me about your past. You have not told me why you have lived in an orphanage. You never told me how your real mother died. You never told me about your father or stepmother."

"I want to know about them. I do," she yelled. 

"Mei, what has happened to you? Why are you asking me these questions all of a sudden? Don't you know how much they hurt me? I don't want to talk about my past especially not my stepmother."

Bitterness, guilt, and pain flashed in the eyes of Su Yuchen. He pulled on his hairs and took a deep breath. 

"But do you have any idea of how much it hurts me that I don't know about your past?" Xin Mei yelled and remembered Gu Biyu and her sacrifice. "I deserve to know about your past. I want to know what is hurting you so much. I want to know about your family. I want to know about that Jiang family who was h.e.l.l bent to kill you."

Su Yuchen looked at her with wide eyes when he heard the name Jiang family.

"I know, the story of grandfather was a lie." Xin Mei declared. "Now, are you opening up to me?" she wrapped her arms around her chest and took a deep breath.

"I am fed up with the secrets which you are hiding. I want to know about your pain."

"But Mei, I am not ready to speak about my past. I am sure you will hate me after knowing about it. There is something…something…which will make you hate me."

Heart of Su Yuchen became heavy with fear and pain. He squeezed his eyes shut.

"Try me, I will never hate you. I want to know everything about you. You know, I met your mother and she loves you so…."

Su Yuchen interrupted her. "What did you say? Mei, my mother is dead!"

"I am talking about your step-mother." Xin Mei finally disclosed that she was meeting with Gu Biyu. Her heartfelt light when words were finally out of her mouth.

"Mei, this is also impossible." Su Yuchen chuckled and held onto her hands. "You must be hallucinating, thinking that you have met my mother or step mother, whatever."

There was hesitation and guilt in the voice of Su Yuchen. He looked at Xin Mei with the craze in her eyes.

"Mei, I think someone has conned you."

"No, no one has conned me. I know I have met your stepmother and she loves you. She loves you so much." Tears filled in the eyes of Xin Mei and she placed her hand on the cheek of Su Yuchen.

"Mei, you have gone crazy. I don't have a mother or stepmother."

"No, you have a stepmother who is still alive."

Xin Mei left Su Yuchen and ran toward her room. She returned with a sweater in her arm. 

"Look at this sweater Su Yuchen. Your mother helped me in making it."

"Mei," Su Yuchen groaned and pulled hard on his hairs. His eyes turned red and burnt with tears. The expression of guilt and pain was visible on his face. He had his fist clutched tight in a vice grip.

"Chen, I seriously meet your stepmother."

Hot tears flew from the eyes of Su Yuchen. His nose flared with anger and his heart started to beat fast.

"How can you meet my stepmother when she is already dead." He yelled with raw anger in his voice. There was cruelness in her voice. "I killed her with my own hands. Then how can you meet her? I killed my very own stepmother. I am her murderer!"
