Xin Mei looked at Su Yuchen who was calmly sleeping on his side of the bed. She was silently running her fingers in his hair, not able to find sleep.

She could not imagine what he had felt as a child when he saw his mother getting murdered. She could imagine the anger which he must have felt before killing his stepmother.

But if Jiang Biyu was his stepmother and she was already dead, then who was Gu Biyu?

Xin Mei sighed and laid down on the bed, beside Su Yuchen. She wrapped her arms around his waist and placed her head on his chest. She closed her eyes.

She knew tomorrow was not going to be easy for them. Tomorrow, Su Yuchen was going to place some more secrets of his past in front of her.

For now, she wanted him to get the needed rest. She too needed the rest to digest down whatever Su Yuchen had told her and whatever he was going to tell her tomorrow.

The next day, when Su Yuchen and Xin Mei woke up, they both exchanged a sad smile towards one another. After getting freshen up and having their food which was kind of tough for both, they made their way towards the study of Su Yuchen.

Su Yuchen took his seat on his chair and pulled Xin Mei on his lap. "Now you can continue."

Su Yuchen nodded his head and continued with his story. "When grandpa brought me home, I was very angry at him and everyone. I was angry that I was separated from Mian. On top of that, I was angry that they were not there when my mother was killed. I was angry that I had to spend my life in an orphanage instead of living with them."

"I was an irritated teenage boy. And when on one occasion, I saw the photo of Jiang Biyu in the Su residence, I burnt with rage. I clearly remembered that face and that lady. I burnt with the fire of revenge and I wanted to kill her."

"To get my revenge, I learned dirty dealings in the stock market. I became an expert in stock manipulation and within a month I was able to make Jiang corporations bankrupt."

An emotionless smile appeared on the lips of Su Yuchen. Again, his eyes became lifeless.

"You remember the Jiang family who tried to kill me a year back?"

Xin Mei nodded her head. How could she forget that family? The name of that family had made Su Yuchen very depressed and angry. Also, she could not forget about his accident in country S.

"I finished their growing business. Jiang empire was the top empire of country A but it crumbled down because of me. Elder Jiang and his daughter, my stepmother, Jiang Biyu were very angry on me."

"They barged into my house, asking for questions and that was the first time that I saw Jiang Biyu, in flesh and blood. I felt envious when I saw her alive, she deserved to die like my mother." 

Su Yuchen laughed, a hollow laugh, without any emotion.

"In my rage, I ran towards her with a kitchen knife, and before anyone could stop me, I plunged the knife into her stomach. The moment I realized what I had done, it was too late."

Su Yuchen s.h.i.+vered and looked at his hands. "I looked at my hands like this. They were covered with her blood. I had become a murderer. I was the worst man alive."

"I was in so shock after killing her that I fainted at that very moment. I fell sick with a high temperature. It was like I had murdered myself and it was true. That day, I had killed the innocent boy in myself. I wanted to get revenge for my mother but I became a murderer."

"I…this is my nightmare Mei. This is my nightmare…." Su Yuchen sobbed and pulled Xin Mei in his arms.

At that moment, Su Yuchen did not look any less than a broken gla.s.s doll. From years, he had controlled himself, he had pulled himself together, but today, he broke down in the arms of Xin Mei. 

Xin Mei could not believe that the mighty Su Yuchen, who was a big tyc.o.o.n, feared by many was hiding such a big secret in his heart. He was so cruel in the past.

When Su Yuchen had woken up from the shock that he had killed someone, he stayed enclosed in his room for a month. He was unable to gulp down the fact that he had become so cruel in his revenge.

He had taken a life. He had destroyed the business of someone in his blind rage. He thought how angry his mother would be on knowing what he had become.

He felt worse when he got to know how Su Lingtian had pleaded to elder Jiang to not do anything to Su Yuchen who was still a kid. Su Lingtian had given his London business to the Jiang family as a compensation for the ill dead of Su Yuchen.

At that moment, Su Lingtian had promised elder Jiang that Su Yuchen would never touch their family ever again. Elder Jiang had also done the same. Su Lingtian had worked hard to hide the news about Su Yuchen and soon enough, Su Yuchen was sent to states so he could change and forget about whatever had happened in his past life.

Xin Mei looked down at Su Yuchen and gently ma.s.saged his head. He had placed his head on her chest and he was resting with closed eyes. He was feeling tired after his outburst. He was also feeling relaxed that finally, he had told Xin Mei everything.

"You sure you don't hate me?"

"I don't hate you. I can see that you regret what you have done. You have already punished yourself by keeping this secret in your heart. Now cheer up."

Xin Mei smiled and looked at Su Yuchen. He also smiled slightly.

The next day, Xin Mei forced Su Yuchen to visit with her to the island which was purchased by him for her. She wanted to go on the island to spend some time with Su Yuchen and to divert their minds.

And her trick worked, by the time they returned after there two days vacation, Su Yuchen was again laughing and smiling with her. 

Su Yuchen felt lucky that he married Xin Mei. She was so thoughtful. He thought no girl would stay with him after knowing he had murdered someone but look at her, she was still holding his hand and was smiling at him.

"Thank you for being by my side Mei." Su Yuchen smiled and wrapped his arm around her. He gently pecked her cheeks.

Xin Mei smiled and pecked his cheek.

"By the way, who is this lady named Gu Biyu, the one you thought is my step-mother?"

Listening to the words of Su Yuchen, Xin Mei fell from heaven to h.e.l.l. She realized the reality. She realized that she had so many things that she wanted to inform to Su Yuchen.
