"Okay, who of the top five will want to partic.i.p.ate?" The teacher asked.
Of the five people who came top 5 in the ranking, only Sona, Andy, Daphne and Greg wanted to partic.i.p.ate. The other student was already satisfied with his own grade so he decided to stay out of this compet.i.tion.
Daphne looked at Sona and Greg as if they were inferior people while Greg had a surprised look on his face as he looked at Sona. He didn't expect her to really be the person who was the first place in the ranking. After what they talked about today, he found out that she is a very interesting person and regretted not having tried to be her friend before, but he still had a doubt if it was her in the first place, because even not paying much attention to the other people in the cla.s.s, he at least saw the ranking of the grades, and from time to time he saw her name among the last places.
For her to have hit such a high score, after what she demonstrated to him today, he does not believe that she has cheated. But the other students were not like that, everyone was surprised when they heard Daphne's accusation however they were only thinking about the possibility that this was true but didn't consider that the accusations might be false. So besides Andy, everyone was looking at her suspiciously, wanting to know what her answers would be like.
"Okay, now that all four partic.i.p.ants are here, we're going to put four tables, one facing the other and each will sit in the chair at each table. So you can police yourselves and make sure nothing goes wrong." The teacher suggested.
Sona was sitting in a chair facing the cla.s.s, while on her left side was Greg, on her right was Andy and facing it was Daphne with her nose up.
"Everybody prepares your papers, here's your first question. Which mountaineer and his Sherpa became the first men to conquer Mount Everest on May 29, 1953?"
Quickly, the students began to think about the answer. Trying to remember this man's name, some students who weren't partic.i.p.ating took their cell phones to search on Google for his name.
While the other three tried to remember his name, Sona had already begun to write. In a few seconds, her paper had a beautiful handwriting saying the man's name. Remembering that kind of general knowledge was easy for her.
Seeing that she had already written the answer, the other three partic.i.p.ants tried to concentrate on finding the answer, but one of them was having a lot of trouble recalling.
Daphne couldn't think of anything, she couldn't even remember where Mount Everest was, not to mention say who climbed it. What the f.u.c.k is going on? "I can't remember anything!" She thought while she was despairing.
What no one saw was that Sona was rhythmically tapping the pencil rubber on the underside of the table she was using. This rhythmic beat was using some of her energy, as these beats were being used to disrupt Daphne's thinking process.
With a small amount of Energy, Sona was sending small sound waves directed solely and exclusively to Daphne. This type of sound wave reacted directly to the brain waves that Daphne's brain used for memory, making the process of searching for Daphne's information a mess and not allowing her to think correctly.
Andy and Greg had already written their answers on paper and Daphne was starting to sweat cold for not being able to think of anything. The nervous look on her face already delivered what was happening, but Sona didn't want it to end so easily.
The worst kind of disappointment is the one in which is it is preceded by hope. So with a few seconds left until the response time was over, Sona stopped with the beat and stared at Daphne with a smile that made the Blonde's body creep. But she didn't have time to think about it now, since her thoughts were back to normal, Daphne quickly wrote down the answer on the paper and let out a sigh of relief.
When everyone handed over the papers to the teacher, she said the right answer was "Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay".
When she opened the papers to check, a smile appeared on her face, all the answers were correct. By Angela's speed, she had written the answer, which could only mean that she had really studied and had earned the first place honestly.
Andy looked at Sona with a happy smile on his face. Although he couldn't believe she was cheating, there was still that little bit of doubt in his heart. Now having confirmation that this was not true, Andy was truly happy for his friend.
Greg had a contemplative look on his face, but he didn't seem too surprised that Sona's response was correct.
Now Daphne was about to explode. Not even the makeup would cover how red with anger her skin was. "That was lucky that an answer came that you knew all along." She said as she stared at her.
Sona completely ignored Daphne, not even giving him a single look. Always keeping a calm expression on her face while he waited for the next question.
"Well, for the next question, I want you to tell me "Which Greek historian is known as the "Father of History"?" Sheila asked.
Sona quickly wrote on the paper with her right hand while the others were still processing the question while her left hand used the rubber pencil to hit the bottom of the table.
That answer was apparently easier for the boys to remember, so while Sona was writing, Andy and Greg started writing their answers too. The only person who was still thinking was Daphne, but this time her desperate look was evident.
She had thought that when she remembered the answer to the previous question, her brain had returned to normal. She knew the answer to that question, but she couldn't remember. It was making her more and more nervous every second.
Even more so when I saw that the "blue nut" had already responded and was staring at her with a sarcastic smile on her face.
