"Hey! Are you alright?"
He shook the girl's body but she remained unresponsive, stared at him with an expression of disbelief. It seemed she still didn't believe she was alive, after all, she fully prepared herself and resolutely jumped off the bridge, wanting to end it once and for all.
Not knowing what to do, Bin kept her shaking her and only stopped when he saw no results. With no choice but using a more extreme way, he raised his hand and…
'SLAP!'
A crisp noise rang out, he didn't hold his strength as he slapped the girl, finally snapping her out of her long daze. With fast breathing, she raised her head and stared at the young man before her, only recognizing him after she was slapped. She remembered that he was Jasmine's servant, as for his name, she didn't know.
"Wake up will you!"
He raised his tone as she spoke to her, who opened her mouth but was unable to say anything. It was at that time that a crying Mina came running toward Bin, the driver followed right after. He seemed to be dialing someone as he held the phone close to his ear, waiting for the other side to pick up.
"Call an ambulance!"
Bin said those words to the driver, who nodded his head in response. Mina hugged her brother, who caressed her head and said
"I'm fine, don't worry. I'm a bit wet so stand a bit back."
Although reluctant, the red-faced Mina nodded her hand and stood next to the driver, who was surprised once he saw who the girl was.
"D-don't cal-l"
A soft, almost unnoticeable voice came out of the girl's lips. Bin frowned and looked at her only to see her shaking more intensely, clearly not just from the cold.
"I'll call her family first, they must be worried."
The driver interjected only for the girl to freak out. She stared at Bin and spoke with a desperate voice
"P-please don't call anyone."
In spite of her begging, Bin still couldn't remain still and do nothing and let her be. The girl just attempted to kill herself and if left alone, she'll do it again, most likely. She clearly needs immediate help!
"Please! Please don't!"
The girl clung onto him and repeatedly pleaded, sounding more pitiful than desperate. Bin let out a helpless and long sigh before saying
"Sir, don't call anyone, for now, we'll take her to master's house."
The driver also understood what's going on, he complied and put down the ringing phone.
Unfortunately, the girl voiced her objection yet again
"N-no don't take me there… just leave me be."
Bin scratched his wet hair and pondered for a moment before helping the girl up. The driver handed him his jacket, to which he put on the s.h.i.+vering girl.
The girl clung to him like an octopus, not letting go of his arm. Bin glanced at her then thought to himself
'Didn't you say you want to be left alone? How come you're clinging onto me?'
Obviously, he kept such thoughts to himself and got into the car with her and his the silent Mina, who kept telling him to remove his wet clothes.
At first, the driver was planning to go to the hospital, he gave up on that as soon as Bin signaled him to take him home. The girl was firmly resistant to going back home or to the hospital, the only option left is his home.

The short trip was silent and a bit awkward. Mina curiously sneaked a few glances at the girl, who was glued to Bin and s.h.i.+vering. Fortunately, the heaters of the car were enough to get rid of the coldness but the two of them were still wearing wet clothes and are susceptible to catch a cold.
…
Bin, Mina, and the girl, whose name was Rika, entered the small apartment. As for the driver, he went to buy a few things from the convenience store. Bin told him not to speak of the matter to anyone until everything becomes clear. They wouldn't want the girl to run away and attempt suicide so it was best to keep it a secret, if that's even possible.
Rika didn't pay much attention to the apartment at first, however, she soon started curiously glancing around. She had a look of fascination, a rare expression for someone who sees his home for the first time.
"It may not be big but it's still four walls and a roof so make yourself comfortable."
There were no seats or beds so the girl had to sit on the hard ground. She no longer clung to him, which is a good thing but having her here is already problematic. It's not that he hated her but he has many problems of his own, adding another is too much yet he still decided to help her.
Rika nodded her head while choosing to remain silent, she gazed at Mina, who walked up to her and said
"You need to remove your clothes."
The girl shyly nodded her head before starting to remove her clothes with the little girl's help. Bin, who was in the cramped bathroom, doing the same thing, suddenly stopped. He took a deep breathe then said
"Mina, don't make her change there. Let her come here."
Soon, he heard soft footsteps come his way. He quickly wore a set of new dry clothes and let the embarra.s.sed Rika enter the narrow room.
The spoiled girl was surprised to see such a small bathroom, it couldn't even fit the two girls, plus, there was no door whatsoever, so anyone in the apartment could hear her.
A few minutes later, the driver brought a few plastic bags filled with food and some medicine. He left shortly after, knowing that Bin will take care of the girl but he still insisted to inform Jasmine, to which Bin said
"Tell her after a few days. Knowing her character, she would make a mess out of everything."
The driver couldn't disagree and promised him to keep the matter a secret.
Mina, excited to see so many delicious snacks, quickly retrieved them out of the bags and happily savored them, while giving a fair share to her big brother and Rika, who refused to eat only for her stomach to start growling.
Rika, unlike her friend and his master, was a shy person. She wore some of Bin's clothes and leaned against the wall as she munched the potato chips. She would sneak a glance at the silent Bin every now and then, waiting for him to ask her about what happened earlier.
Only when Mina fell asleep on his lap did Bin speak while gazing at the starry sky outside of the one and only small window in the apartment:
"If you're waiting for me to ask, you should stop. I'm sure there are good reasons for your actions but at least know this, death is never the answer."
In response, the girl only dropped her head and caressed the cut marks on her wrist. At this point, Rika didn't think much of his words, probably things anyone would say to someone like her, who wants to die. However, she would soon come to know the real meaning of his words and his strange gaze as he sat there, silently gazing at the night sky for hours.
