"You don't mind riding the subway?" Tsubaki looked up to her husband.
"This is nice. I think it's been years since the last time I rode the subway." Ren scanned his surroundings. They were pairs of couples, friends and even family. The place was bustling yet he didn't feel suffocated or annoyed. Holding her hand tightly, Ren focused back on Tsubaki. "So, where's the ticket counter?"
Tsubaki took out her phone and opened an app. Smirking, she returned her husband's stare. "You could use your phone for easy access, Mr. Rich Guy. Just download this app."
Ren raised his eyebrows, amused with the teasing in her voice. "Seems like I'd trust my wife to be my guide for today's date."
"You should be." Tsubaki chuckled.
Tsubaki and Ren got off the subway and immediately went to the park nearby. Most of the people they saw were either having a picnic among them, playing throw ball or merely relaxing. The air today was a bit cooler than yesterday, making it bearable to stay under the sun even the clock had just stroke 2.
Tsubaki wore a pale green floral dress. She donned it with a white casual jacket and white sneakers. She let her hair loose. Ren wore his usual black jacket and pants, but he chose to pair it with a pale green s.h.i.+rt in order to match it with his wife's outfit. The couple earned several looks from the pa.s.sersby who admired their beauty.
"So, where do you want to take me for a date, wife?" Ren asked after they walked for quite a distance. He peered at her face, she seemed content over something.
"Isn't it nice having a random date like this?" Tsubaki answered while smiling cheekily. "This place is quite far from our home. It is okay with you, hubby?"
Ren chuckled over her answer. He threw his gaze around his surroundings. He had never been here before. From the looks of it, this place was quite under-develop but the air here felt cleaner and the views were remarkable.
"Have you been here before?"
Tsubaki nodded. Her eyes twinkled with excitement. "This place has the best traditional dessert shop! And I love their local ramen shop too! Their shops are quite old but the taste is good! You should try it too! Oh, the candy shop around the corner sells lots of traditional candies too!"
Ren was dumbfounded with her sudden explosion of interest. He watched the details of her face; the way her eyes turned to crescent-shaped when she laughed and the corner of her lips turned up when she talked in excitement. But, right now it was all because of food. Ren laughed as he couldn't hold it anymore.
"What...?" Tsubaki looked at her husband, confused. Her chatters about her favourite delicacies in this place stop abruptly due to his laughter.
"My dear, I never knew you're quite a foodie," Ren said in between his laugh.
Tsubaki blushed. She bit her lips and glared at Ren who was still laughing. Stomping her foot, she turned around from him before she started walking fast. Ren snickered, his dainty wife was sulking with him, right? It's a good sign for him as before, Tsubaki was always careful with how she acted around him.
"Love, don't be mad!"
Ren ran after her. He grabbed her waist and pulled her closer. Tsubaki tried to push him but he didn't even budge. Staring angrily at him, Tsubaki whined, "What? I thought you haven't done laughing at me."
This man! If he dare to make fun of her again, she would kick him out of the bed. He could sleep of the couch!
"Sorry, sorry," Ren said. He pat her head, smiling as he indulged himself with her presence. "Besides Grandma, I could only tease you. Who else should I tease besides my dear wife?"
Tsubaki pursed her lips. She was still frowning. His excuses didn't even sound plausible, how could he say that with a straight face? Wanting to stop him from making funny excuses, she opened her mouth.
"I'm hungry."
Ren chuckled. "Okay, where should we go first? The ramen shop? The dessert shop? Or the candy one?"
"We should have ramen for dinner. I'd bring you to another place." Tsubaki raised one of her eyebrows, looking at him suggestively.
Ren sighed inwardly. So tonight he couldn't get his wife's home-cooked dinner? And, she planned to stay here until night? What else they could do here? He had no idea. They should just stay at home and cuddle while watching the movie.
But.
When he saw her excited face, he felt that this was worth it. If she loved coming here, he wanted to know the reason. He wanted to make up for the time they had lost before. Learning her new favourites things would be his new hobby. More so when they could enjoy them together.

"Okay, shall you guide me there, dear wife?" Ren smiled.
"Let's go!" Tsubaki eagerly hook her arms around his, pulling him to their right.
They walked for about 10 minutes before they reached a family restaurant. Once they stood near the entrance, Ren looked down to her wife. "A family restaurant?"
Tsubaki nodded. "This is a local family restaurant here. An old family managed it. They doesn't have any branch outside from this one. Their food are good and unique since they use local specialties for their dishes."
"Then, I should try them. It is your treat, Mrs. Fuse?" Ren smiled c.o.c.kily.
"It's my treat, since Mr. Fuse would pay for my expenses in our next stop." Tsubaki winked.
Ren shook his head. Indeed. His wife had turned cheekier. He should guard himself up around her before he lost control of her. He laughed inwardly. Feeling that it wasn't a bad idea if she was the one who controlled him.
