When Lu AnLing opened her eyes, it was already morning. She could tell by how the room had been completely brightened up by the sunlight emanating from the bay window.

Since Lu AnLing was facing it, she had been awoken by the sun around 6 am.

Usually, Kang Jun pulled the curtains over it at night, but since he had been pinned down by Lu AnLing last night, he didn't get a chance to do so.

At first, Lu AnLing had no idea where she was, what she was doing or why her legs and arms felt painful, but once she completely opened her eyes, she noticed that she was clutching onto a black s.h.i.+rt, that was still being worn.

Lu AnLing pulled away.

Staring down at both herself and Kang Jun; her eyes taking some extra time to internalize the s.e.xiness of Kang Jun's muscles, exposed by his unb.u.t.toned s.h.i.+rt, Lu AnLing was breathless.

Remembering fragmented pieces of what happened yesterday, Lu AnLing looked at Kang Jun's face, then, her own suddenly flushed.

He proposed to marry her.

Twice!

Once the thought crossed her mind, her whole body began to feel heavy and her stomach began to hurt. It was strange because what she felt at the moment was pure bliss, whether she wanted to admit it or not.

Lu AnLing felt her body warm, but suddenly, her blood ran cold.

She began to feel something strange poking the area between her legs.

'Oh no…'

Lu AnLing's eyes widened with her own realization.

How was she stimulating him now? She hadn't even moved.

Kang Jun opened his eyes. It was as if he wasn't even sleeping, to begin with. That was because he hadn't. The man had been asleep up until the moment he had felt her move.

Turning to see the expression on Lu AnLing's face, Kang Jun wanted to burst out in laughter but he didn't dare.

"Don't worry." Kang Jun said as if he was reading her mind, "It's called morning wood. It's a natural reaction for men when they wake up in the morning."

Hearing this, Lu AnLing didn't feel the slightest bit of relief because she could still feel it poking her. Though she didn't make any move to get off of Kang Jun.

Kang Jun gulped.

Because Lu AnLing was so close to him, she heard it loud and clear.

Suddenly, Kang Jun spoke in a much more serious tone.

"If you stay on top of me, I won't be able to know whether it's morning wood or if it's because you're arousing me."

Once she heard this, Lu AnLing's face turned a brighter shade of red.

Quickly, she staggered up, but her legs were completely numb and it sent her falling backward. However, Kang Jun had quick reflexes. Seeing her unsteady form tilt back, Kang Jun quickly stood and pulled her towards him but, because he had slept in an uncomfortable position on the floor himself, Kang Jun wasn't the steadiest.

Hitting his chest with her body, Lu AnLing's weight caused Kang Jun to tip like a domino, straight onto the bed behind them.

Lu AnLing groaned.

Kang Jun said no words.

He just leaned back into his bed and let out a sigh of relief. The bed was cold but it was nice and comfortable. Lu AnLing, who laid beside the man felt the same.

It was once she was on it that she realized how much her body hurt.

She was never going to sleep on the floor again.

Feeling her eyes closing, Lu AnLing let out a yawn. It caused tears to appear at the corners of her eye, but one actually fell and began to drip down her cheek.

Softly, Kang Jun wiped it away with his thumb.

As he did that, his expression was slightly sad. Kang Jun couldn't bear to see her cry again, even if it was because she was yawning.

Meanwhile, the gentleness touched Lu AnLing's heart. The familiar sensation made her remember more of what happened last night.

"I should go." Lu AnLing said as she pushed herself up from the bed. Her face was completely red.

Watching her leave, Kang Jun smirked.

It was cute when she was embarra.s.sed. His heart and body were completely warmed in the girl's presence.

"I will look forward to our next meeting, Miss Lu." Kang Jun said in a whisper but Lu AnLing caught his words as she left.

When Lu AnLing came back to her room she went straight to the bathroom to go take a shower. As she was stripping she felt a strange wet sensation as it trickled down her leg.

Looking down, the girl furrowed her eyebrows and frowned.

'Oh great, Mother nature.' Lu AnLing internally sighed.

Then, at that moment, Lu AnLing thought of Kang Jun and how embarra.s.sing it would have been if her period had started when she was on top of him.

Just thinking about it, Lu AnLing died of embarra.s.sment.

The rest of the week, due to her period, Lu AnLing felt tired and weak but even after it had left she still didn't feel much better. There was a lot of work to do, and all she wanted was to stop and relax but she couldn't.

Since the day of Xiao Mian's party she had seen neither Xiao Mian nor Lu Shuya and since she hadn't been able to visit her grandmother either, there was no way she would meet either of them unless they came to visit her but every night, she prayed they wouldn't.

On a brighter side, Lu AnLing found herself spending a lot of time with Kang Jun.

Because of how late they both came home, they would always b.u.mp into each other, and Kang Jun would always offer to eat some food with her.

They would enter one of their rooms, order room service and then just sit and chat.

Since he had proposed to her, neither Lu AnLing nor Kang Jun had brought it up and although it was certainly awkward sometimes, Lu AnLing had to admit that the time she spent with the man was really refres.h.i.+ng.

They were beginning to speak with complete intrigued and comfort. It was as if they'd known each other for years.

Though, one thought kept nagging at her mind…

It had been a couple of weeks and Kang Mingyu hadn't wanted to meet her once.

Lu AnLing was beginning to wonder if something was wrong or if she had done something to hurt the boy but Kang Jun rea.s.sured her that she didn't do anything wrong and that his grandfather was most likely keeping the boy busy.

When Kang Jun mentioned his grandfather, Lu AnLing thought about the old man who seemed to never come to the lounge anymore and she began to feel a bit worse than before.

She enjoyed the presence of both Kang Mingyu and the old man but now she had no way of seeing them. Looking towards Kang Jun, she began to worry that he would soon disappear from her sights as they had.

In his years, Kang Jun had also experienced what Lu AnLing was going through, mostly that one year when Elder Kang had brought Kang Mingyu along when he had his yearly trip abroad.

It was annoying, but never much to worry about.

Though, Kang Jun had a strange feeling at the pit of his stomach that singled him that something was wrong because Kang Mingyu seemed to be avoided contact with Kang Jun also. They still talked a bit on the phone but the conversations would never lasted long and as much as he didn't want to worry Lu AnLing, she was right. It was strange that the boy didn't want to see her.

Kang Jun unconsciously sighed.

"What are you plans this weekend?"

Lu AnLing closed her eyes for a moment and then sighed.

Kang Jun: "Nothing good?"

"It's my grandmothers birthday."

"You don't want to go?"

Lu AnLing didn't answer.

Kang Jun didn't know much about Lu AnLing's family. Only that she'd been adopted and that she didn't seem to like them very much. When it came to the question why, he was as in the dark as anyone else.

"If you don't want to. Just don't." Kang Jun's voice was so nonchalant that Lu AnLing almost laughed.

"I have to."

Kang Jun: "You don't have to do anything."

Lu AnLing smiled sadly.

'I wish that were true.' the voice inside whispered.

"I really have to go. I promised my brother I would go, and My grandmother is expecting me. So I have to…" Lu AnLing averted her gaze for a moment to look at the night sky from the bay window. Her expression suddenly turned grim.

Lu AnLing: "Their the only family I have."
