But even so, Kang Jun didn't hurry. He just carefully picked Kang Mingyu up from out of the car and carried him to his private elevator.
In the large gla.s.s walled meeting room, The executives were a bit annoyed that Kang Jun had rescheduled the meeting only to be late but when they saw Kang Jun carrying Kang Mingyu; in deep conversation with the boy, their minds s.h.i.+fted elsewhere.
"Since when did our boss have the time to have a child? Especially one this old?!" A girl asked as she stared at the scene with disbelief.
"What? Can he not have a child? I heard from a friend who works in Hotel Helios that a rich man bought a hotel room for his mistress… and when she described how the man looked like, it sounded like the rich man looked like President Kang. When I heard this I was so depressed I thought I would die!" Another girl complained.
Hearing the girl's a man at the other side of the table laughed.
He said, "In the end, our President is a good looking man, he's still young and he's filthy rich! Maybe he's been married and he's been hiding it this whole time."
"That wouldn't be too shocking." Another man said as he shrugged, "President Kang seems like the type to have a hidden marriage."
Hearing this gossip, the old man at the corner of the table clicked his tongue before he spoke,
"Are you guys idiots? That's the little young master of the Kang's. He's the late Kang Zhi's son with Qiao Jianhong's only granddaughter, Qiao Lan."
The man tried his best not to mention the word 'adopted' though he, and everyone else in the room either knew or would know that the boy was adopted at some point.
With this said, the room erupted with even more gossip.
Listening to this, the old man was disappointed. Children these days were so p.r.o.ne to gossip it was dishonourable…
Once Kang Jun entered the meeting room, the executives quieted down immediately.
"I'm sorry for the delay, let start the meeting." Kang Jun said as he entered. He then took his seat. His eyes cooly swept over the executives faces.
Behind Kang Jun, Mr. Long walked in and handed the man some doc.u.ments. Kang Jun turned to the man and whispered something to him that no one else in the room could hear, and then immediately after that, Mr. Long left.
The meeting itself didn't last long. In fact, Kang Jun was a bit shocked that it had not taken up much more time. usually the executives seemed much more incompetent but the man wasn't complaining.
When everything was finished, Kang Jun went to his office. Inside he saw a scene he was already use to.
Mr. Long sitting on his couch ma.s.saging his temple as Kang Mingyu held the man's phone above his head, watching a video, with earbuds in his ears.
The boy ignored everything else.
Hearing the door open, Mr. Long looked up at Kang Jun as if he was a G.o.d and then he slowly walked up to the man. "The meeting is over? Already?"
The man's voice contained shock, but deep down Mr. Long was supremely happy.
"Yes." Kang Jun said before he placed a bunch of papers on his desk, "Long Rui, did you make arrangements with Miss Tang's secretary?"
Mr. Long nodded. "Miss Tang has been busy but she's planning on going to France on business, in a few weeks. If possible, Miss Tang wishes for you to meet her there."
Kang Jun was quiet for a moment as he thought about it. If he wasn't married he would have made the decision in a heartbeat, but being away from his wife for even a whole day depressed him.
"I'll think about it."
Kang Jun sat in his chair and then he began to flip through doc.u.ments. "How are things going with the paternity test locations?"
Mr. Long walked up to Kang Jun's desk and he carefully pulled out a thin file which was bellow many other doc.u.ments. He then opened it and laid it in front of Kang Jun.
"There aren't many places to do legitimate paternity tests, and there are even less that would a.s.sure discretion, but I've been able to narrow it down to four location's that fit your ideals." Mr. Long pointed to the names of the four hospitals.
Reading the names of the hospitals, Kang Jun began to frown. Then he pointed to one hospital, "This is the one the Chong's work at."
"Indeed, sir."
Kang Jun stared at the name for a second and he tapped his finger on his lip.
"I want you to do a paternity test in each of these hospitals but save this one for last." After saying this, Kang Jun looked at his phone. "Miss Lu said she'll corporate in any way she can, so when you pick her up, discuss the details with her."
Mr. Long: "Yes sir."
Mr. Long didn't ask why Kang Jun wanted such a thing. Instead he followed the man's orders, though before he left the room Mr. Long turned to Kang Jun reluctantly and said,
"Don't you want to do a paternity test yourself?"
Kang Jun looked at Mr.Long dead in the eyes and said.
"I've already made arrangements."

When Lu AnLing was done crying she straightened herself up in the seat by the hospital bed and said,
"Why is no one here today?"
Grandma Lu shrugged. "They were being annoying yesterday so I told them to leave me be. All relatives know how to do is talk bulls.h.i.+t and it makes you feel like you're about to die."
Hearing this, Lu AnLing frowned.
Seeing the way Lu AnLing's face twisted,Grandma Lu laughed. "Not you sweetie. I mean my children. Well, all except your mother and her elder brother. Those two barely show any emotion, sometimes I wonder if they really are my children."
Lu AnLing wasn't mad because the old woman had said that the family worrying about her was annoying, what really bothered Lu AnLing was how easily Grandma Lu spoke of death. Though Lu AnLing didn't say this, she just decided to give a dry laugh instead, before she whipped away residue tears.
Grandma Lu saw Lu AnLing was holding herself back, so the woman straightened her back and said, "So how have you been doing nowadays, we haven't been able to talk much. I apologize for that. You know how it goes…"
Lu AnLing smiled at the woman, though deep inside she didn't feel like smiling at all.
The Lu family always brought out vulnerability within the girl and she didn't like it. She felt like she was lesser than her cousins and siblings in every way but she knew this wasn't true.
Lu AnLing looked away from her grandmother. "I-I'm sorry. I wanted to visit you sooner but…"
Grandma Lu put her hand on the girls shoulder and shook her head.
"They didn't want you to visit because of Xinya, I understand. You don't need to explain yourself." Seeing that Lu AnLing's face was still dark, Grandma Lu forced herself to smile and said, "But If you're so worried about me and you still feel guilty, you should hurry up and get married!"
Hearing those words, Lu AnLing froze for a moment.
"Uh… about that." Lu AnLing said, but her grandmother didn't stop to listen to her, instead, the woman continued to speak.
"You know, Chong Feng is such a darling man! Despite being a paediatrician he takes time out of his busy schedule to come and check if I'm doing fine…"
"Ugh, grandmother…" Lu AnLing said a bit louder than the last time she spoke but still, Grandma Lu continued her tangent.
"He would make such a good grandson-in-law, and he's pretty handsome, but not too handsome as to attract too many girls. You know, unfaithfulness increases when your husband is too handsome—"
At this point, Lu AnLing was sick of listening to her grandmother. Her face started getting red with anger.
"Grandmother!" Lu AnLing screamed.
Grandma Lu frowned. "What?"
The room suddenly went quiet and Lu AnLing took a deep breathe.
"I-I have something to tell you."
