The words spoken by Kang Jun lingered faintly in her ears but all she could concentrate on were his lips. They hovered so close to her that she could just close the s.p.a.ce between them in one swift movement.
"So?" Kang Jun taunted seductively.
His breath tickled her face.
Lu AnLing couldn't stop her heart from beating. Today, she felt as if her heart had overexerted itself and it was all because of the man who pinned her to the wall.
Looking into Kang Jun's eyes, Lu AnLing didn't speak for a second, but when she saw the man smirk, she couldn't help but blurt out. "A date?"
"Just you and me?"
Lu AnLing, averted her eyes. "No… It wouldn't be fair to Mingyu."
Kang Jun furrowed his eyebrows. He considered Kang Mingyu to be just a kid but who knew he was such a huge opponent?
"How about we go somewhere all together sometime soon and after that, we go on a date just you and I?" Lu AnLing wanted to reject him, but then he spoke again. "Don't you feel bad for making me experience such a thing?"
Kang Jun was referring to the bathroom incident and Lu AnLing knew this, so she didn't say a word. But by how much he knew from the girl's mannerism, Kang Jun knew that this silence meant acceptance.
The smirk on his lips grew considerably.
Just then, Kang Jun was satisfied so he began to back away but suddenly there was a loud sound that forced them to turn to look to the side.
There, Liang Ke was laying on the ground, flat on his b.u.t.t. So shocked from what he had just seen that his knees had gone weak and now, he just sat staring at the pair from the ground.
Lu AnLing pushed Kang Jun away from her in shock.
"I… I, ugh… This isn't what it looks like."
Lu AnLing didn't sound convincing at all.
Meanwhile, Liang Ke and Kang Jun just stared at each other for a moment as if they were communicating with their eyes. Liang Ke had eyes of pure fear and as for Kang Jun, they were cold as they were with everyone else but Lu AnLing.
Kang Jun turned to look at the girl, "Who is he to you?"
Lu AnLing was so shocked at what had just happened that she refused to speak. Frankly, she also didn't know what to say. What was Liang Ke to her? Nothing at all…
Waiting for a moment, Kang Jun understood he wouldn't get an answer from the girl so instead, he turned to the boy in the white suit.
"Who is she to you?"
Liang Ke was in shock but he still answered politely. "To me? Nothing really. She is the a.s.sistant of an artist at the company and I—"
"The truth, Kang Liang!"
Hearing that name escape Kang Jun's mouth, Kang Liang (going to be calling him this from now on) cringed.
"Kang Liang?" Lu AnLing's eyes widened before she looked between the two men. There was barely any family resemblance. Feeling unbearably confused, she turned her whole body to Kang Jun.
Lu AnLing's eyebrows knitted.
They were brothers? Is that why the man had approached her? Is that why she came here?
Lu AnLing: "Did you—"
Kang Jun, realizing what she was insinuating and so, he shook his head, no."His business and mine are completely unrelated, even when it comes to you."
Realizing that his words sounded mean and uncaring, Kang Jun took a deep breath. "What I meant was that he and I met you and approached you on our own accords. It wasn't influenced by any outside forces."
Those words from Kang Jun's mouth made the girl calm a bit.
From the side, Kang Liang was still on the ground with an expression of pure horror. Seeing the way his brother looked at the girl with warmth and… Oh my G.o.d… was that love, Kang Liang almost fell over again.
Lu AnLing: "I understand."
Hearing her say this, Kang Jun's aura warmed like a spring's day and he looked at her gently.
For a while now, Kang Liang had gotten himself up from the ground but his eyes were glued on Kang Jun and Lu AnLing.
He didn't understand how they knew each other but he was too afraid to ask.
"Bro…"
Kang Jun: "…"
Truthfully Kang Jun had someone following Lu AnLing just to protect her from Elder Kang, who Kang Jun knew would come to dig up information on her. So he'd found out early on that Kang Liang had been flocking around the girl but the man was completely inconsequential. Though now, staring at his little brother, he felt anger rise up in him. He a.n.a.lyzed the suit Kang Liang wore and he began to frown.
Making Lu AnLing wear such an attractive dress was enough to anger him but what was worse was the fact that their clothing had matched when Lu AnLing wore the red dress. Even with the white dress she now wore, they looked like they came in a couple set.
Looking down at himself and thinking back at the times he hit on Lu AnLing, Kang Liang felt his whole body s.h.i.+ver.
"Yo, bro… I didn't know. "
Kang Jun had heard his brothers whisper but he didn't say a thing.
Kang Jun's mind was concentrating on other things.
Since the moment he'd seen Lu AnLing, Kang Jun had been partially annoyed that so many people had gotten to see her in the seductive red dress. Even if she herself didn't think she was beautiful Kang Jun knew she was.
She was ravis.h.i.+ng and seeing many men turn her way angered him.
Though now, wearing the white dress, it was hard for Kang Jun to stop the flames of both desire and anger from growing at his pit. He was glad that no one had seen her in this dress she wore now, but soon she would be heading towards a place full of people and he couldn't allow anyone to see her in such attire.
"Kang Liang, give her your jacket"
Lu AnLing's eyes widened. "No… I'm fine, I—"
Hearing her begin to deny him, Kang Jun gave her a look that made her stop speaking.
"It's either you wear my jacket or his, you chose."
Lu AnLing chose Kang Liang's because she knew that wearing Kang Jun's jacket would cause too much of a scene. But when she looked back to meet the man's eyes she saw a small bit of disappointment in them.
It made her heart drop.
Gazing at the two, Kang Liang slowly removed his jacket with a frown. They were in their own world and they'd completely forgotten about him.
Kang Liang handed the jacket to Kang Jun.
At first, he was going to put the jacket directly on Lu AnLing but seeing the glimmer in his brother's eyes as he looked at the girl, Kang Liang decided against it. He didn't want to get beaten if his brother mistook him for trying to steal his girl.
Like a gentleman, Kang Jun draped the jacket over Lu AnLing's shoulders and told her to put her arms through the sleeves. She wasn't sure why he told her to do this but she obediently followed his orders. Once she did he began to b.u.t.ton the front. When he was done, he looked at his handiwork and his face began to darken. The suit covered the stain but it didn't cover her cleavage.
Kang Jun needed to find a way to cover it up.
Gazing at the dress he saw a sparkling silver broach near the bottom of the dress's plunge.
"Remove that."
Lu AnLing did just that and handed it to him. Kang Jun took it and then used it to pin the top of the suit so her chest was no longer seen. When he was done, the man looked at it triumphantly.
Seeing this, Lu AnLing felt something bloom in her heart. It was a new face she'd never seem come from the man. But she wasn't the only one.
Kang Liang who stood on the sidelines stared at the scene, dumbfounded and then when he saw how Kang Jun pinned the top of the suit and the look that appeared in his eyes after he was done, he couldn't help but burst out in laughter.
"Brother… aren't you just too much!"
Kang Jun glared at his brother. Seeing as the boy wasn't going to stop any time soon, Kang Jun put his hand on Lu AnLing's waist and walked her down the hall.
When he saw them move away from him, Kang Liang ran towards them.
"Wait! You can't leave."
Kang Jun paused and just as he did, a cold breeze spread through his surroundings. "Why not?"
Kang Jun never liked anyone telling him what he could and couldn't do. This was one of the many reasons he didn't get along well with many elders.
Realizing what he had said, Kang Liang quickly corrected himself. "What I meant was that she can't leave…"
Now it was Lu AnLing's turn to question. "Why?"
