I Deserve A Second Chance Chapter 106 - Like One Family

Since the day was already over, the husband and wife couple were also getting ready to close their small eatery. Shao Yan and Li Xiqing happened to be their last customer so they took their time while slowly cleaning up.

"Just take your time eating, it is fine. Don't mind us busying around, alright?" lady boss approached their table when they were about to start to eat.

In a moment of spontaneity, Shao Yan quickly reached out and grabbed her hand, "Lady boss, why don't you and you husband join us for dinner?" she casted a glance at Li Xiqing who was about to dip a slice of meat to the pot. He looked back at her, and gave her a rea.s.suring smile.

Shao Yan turned back to the lady boss and continued, "To be honest, lady boss, look at all this food," she spread both of her hands over the table, "Both of us will not be able to finish them, and it will be a waste to throw them away, don't you think so? Come and join us."

Lady boss quickly shook both of her hands in front of her, "No no! How could we! It's okay, don't feel bad for us, you just eat with ease, alright?" she softly sighed.

This girl was so naive. 'Your boyfriend will only want to spend the night to enjoy the meal with you, silly girl,' the lady boss said inwardly.

Li Xiqing saw the two women started to talk more, while persuading each other to eat; he shook his head helplessly. At this rate, his own wife would be starving and Yan Yan could fall sick with empty stomach and the wind.

Slowly, he got up from his seat, and walked over to the self-serving table. He took two bowls and two more chopsticks, and brought them back to their table, "Lady boss, come and join us. It's late, please think about your own health. You don't want to get sick and can't run the shop anymore, do you?"

Li Xiqing casted his charm with his warm smile, causing lady boss to look at him silly. Lady boss quickly nodded her head yes, and yelled for her husband.

"Old man! Come here! The couple invited us to eat with them, else the food will be wasted. Come here now," lady boss quickly strode over to her husband who was stacking the empty chairs on top of the tables. She grabbed her husband's arms and dragged him to eat with Shao Yan and Li Xiqing.

"Why do we have to disturb the young kids. Let them eat, why do you have to be so nosy," the restaurant boss started to nag at his wife. The old couple bantered with each other for a while, but at the end, lady boss won the battle.

The four of them ended up eating together. Li Xiqing took the initiative to cook for everyone. While Lady boss and her husband unconsciously also acted like a part of the family, they slowly relaxed and ate happily with them.

Lady boss would keep going to the kitchen to add more stuff to their table. Pickled vegetables, more rice, or different meatb.a.l.l.s. Shao Yan looked at her helplessly. She also turned her head to peek at the old man, but he was busy chatting with Li Xiqing, while telling him about the journey of his cooking life.

Shao Yan decided that she had to stop the lady boss from cleaning out her kitchen and let her sat down to eat. Else, how would she feel if lady boss end up emptying her fridge because of her and Li Xiqing?

She slowly got up, and started to chase the lady boss who just left the table to go the kitchen again.

When they finally arrived home, it was close to midnight, and Shao Yan was so exhausted. Her muscles were aching all over and she could not wait to have a hot bath.

"Go and shower first, I need to reply to some emails." Li Xiqing took out his laptop from his bag and walked to the living room to settle down. Shao Yan dragged her tired self and started to freshen up.

When she was done, she opened a delicate box by the dressing table, where she stored all of her beauty skin care products. Shao Yan took her time to go through the different face masks that she had. Finally decided on moisturizing packet, she tore the packaging apart and slowly put the delicate sheet on her face.

She walked to the bed and sat down, and slowly leaning back onto the headboard. She started to relax and play with her mobile phone.

When Li Xiqing was done, he walked back to the bedroom. As he opened the door, he paused his steps and stunned. He was speechless while looking at Yan Yan with the transparent face mask covering her face. He blinked and slowly collected himself; he closed the door behind him without saying anything.

All this time they were together, this was the first time Yan Yan would do any skin care treatment on her face. He was surprised for a bit.

Shao Yan could not help but giggle at his reaction as she could not speak at the moment. She raised one hand at him and waved him to go to shower.

When he was done, Li Xiqing walked out of the bathroom while rubbing on both of his palm, he had just put on a hand lotion. Right after he closed the door, he found Yan Yan was standing in front of him while her lips curved up so cheekily. She did not have any face mask on anymore and her face was glowing at him while smiling so brightly.

Li Xiqing scrunched his eyebrows and felt gooseb.u.mps on his back; this girl was up to no good. He squinted his eyes and looked at her suspiciously, "What are you doing?"

Shao Yan did not say anything, she approached him while still chuckling and then held on his wrist. She pulled him along and had him sat on the bed. As she pushed him down to sit, he was scrutinizing her facial expressions. She looked so happy, as happy as a child when they found a secret candy that was hidden under their bed.

She was standing in front of him, in between his knees. His hands were on his lap, waiting on to see what she was planning to do. She reached out to the bedside table and took a packet of something.

Shao Yan reached inside the packet and pulled out a moist paper and slowly unfolded it. Li Xiqing could feel that his forehead scruches hard. He did not like where this is going.
