I Deserve A Second Chance Chapter 128 - Missed Call

After they got ready to go to work, Shao Yan decided to drive her own car.

"I have to go back to my apartment later, I need to do some laundry and also some cleaning, Qi Ling said she may be coming home soon," Shao Yan said as she was putting on her light jacket; and then she walked to the foyer and open the shoe cabinet.

Today was casual Friday. She had put on a green army jumpsuit. It was a quarter long sleeves, up to her elbow, with ribbon tie accent on her waist. The pants were wide and flowy like silk, even though they were made out of cotton. And then she accompanied the whole outfit with a simple necklace and also a black bomber jacket.

Shao Yan had tied her hair to a ponytail. Li Xiqing was standing behind her as she was putting on her wedges, he touched her ponytail hair gently,"Your hair is getting longer now. I remember when I first met you, it was only shoulder length."

He brushed the back of her head, "Are you planning to get a haircut anytime soon?"

Shao Yan finished putting on her shoes, and as she straightened back up, she turned slightly around to look at Li Xiqing, "Hm, I don't think so, I kind of like having a long hair now. But what do you think?"

Li Xiqing bended slightly to grab both of their bags that he had put on the side, "You are pretty either way, so I will leave it up to you," he looked at her, "are you ready? Shall we leave now?"

Shao Yan paused for a while. His reply actually made her realized that either he was an expert playboy, or he was really sincere that he just said it without giving too much thought. Her lips slowly curved into a smile, if she did not know better, she would have run down the hills and escaped.

They walked hand in hand to the underground parking garage. Li Xiqing walked her to her car, as she unlocked the car, he opened the back seat door to put her laptop bag inside, "I will be home late today. I am having dinner with Axel Chen, Karl and Martin, so you don't have to wait for me, alright?"

Shao Yan was standing docilely on his side, she slowly nodded, "L Corporation Axel Chen? You have been meeting with this Axel Chen a lot lately. Is everything okay?"

Li Xiqing closed the door, and turned to face her, "He wants to buy a company, but the fight has not been smooth. I will bring you to meet him after everything is done," he tilted his head slightly, while frowning, "Maybe around the holiday season, I'll introduce you to him."

He walked to the front seat, and opened the door for her, "Let's go, you are going to be late."

After she put on her seatbelt, Shao Yan started the engine and wound down the window. Li Xiqing bended down slightly, and caressed her hair, "Drive carefully, alright? I will go to the project site right away after this. I'll call you later?"

Shao Yan nodded slowly, and then Li Xiqing leaned in closer and planted a kiss on her forehead.

The day pa.s.sed by just like that. With the holiday season soon approaching, everyone was so occupied.

After finding out that Risa was a relative and had no ill intention towards her or Li Xiqing, Shao Yan went back to her previous att.i.tude towards Risa. They talked like normal, and behaved as normal, just like two long lost sisters

"So are you bringing Daniel to meet Grandma tomorrow?"

It was a conveyor belt sus.h.i.+ restaurant, and Risa was having lunch together with Shao Yan. They sat next to the conveyor belt, so they could quickly grab the sus.h.i.+ that they wanted.

Shao Yan lifted up her hand to take a plate of sus.h.i.+ with grilled beef on garlic sauce. She nodded, "Yes, oh I need to ask you what kind of presents that I need to prepare to gift Grandma?"

Risa paused to think for a while.

"Hm. Let me think. Don't bother giving tea, she already has a teahouse. It will be funny if you give the tea that she actually does not like, right?"

Risa slowly picked up her chopsticks again, and bit the tips. Shao Yan was thinking about some options, while also biting their tips, "So maybe like ginseng? Or silk cloths? What do you think? Hm..."

When they accidentally looked at each other, suddenly they burst out a laugh, "We are really sisters, huh? Even this habit is also the same," Risa said while wiping a little tear that had come out when she was laughing so hard. Shao Yan laughed along with her. 'Indeed, having a family is not a bad feeling,' she thought.

When she came home to her apartment that night, Shao Yan quickly cook a light meal for herself and then she started to vacuum her apartment.

The thunder outside was roaring with all its might. Flash of lightning also brightened up for a little while. Shao Yan peeked outside the balcony, and saw the sky was pitch dark, and gust of winds just flowed around.

She quickly ran to the patio and close all the windows and also the sliding door.

Shao Yan glanced at the clock on the bookshelf and saw that it was already ten o'clock at night.

As if it was on cue, heavy rain started to pour down mercilessly, surprising Shao Yan who was in the middle of her thoughts, which she quickly lost when she heard the heavy downpour.

After she drew the curtain, Shao Yan quickly finished her cleaning, and went back to her bedroom to shower.

When she came out again, Shao Yan saw that her phone was lit brightly for a second, and then shut off immediately, indicating that she had missed a call. She briskly walked over and picked up her phone. 

Shao Yan saw that Li Xiqing had called her three times. She quickly pressed a few b.u.t.tons, and returned his call.

The call was picked up right away.
