"Yan Yan?"
His deep masculine voice brushed her ears tenderly.
Shao Yan had just finished showering. She was still wrapped in her oversized white robe white standing next to the bed side table and holding onto her phone.
As Li Xiqing's voice was heard through the receiver, Shao Yan slowly sat down on the edge of the bed, "En, where are you? It's raining heavily now. Don't drive first." She crossed her legs, while ma.s.saging her neck lightly.
As Shao Yan ma.s.saged her nape, she remembered what Li Xiqing did to her last night, and she could not help but blush. He made her come so many times, her body was so tired and lethargic, and she was planning to sleep early tonight.
'It was only with his tongue and his fingers; what will happen if...' Shao Yan could not help to think that way as she was waiting for Li Xiqing to continue speaking.
"I'm calling to tell you, I'll sleep in the office. It's raining too heavily outside, and I don't think it's safe for me to drive right now."
Shao Yan unconsciously nodded at his words, and then realizing that Li Xiqing might be still waiting for her to reply, she quickly said, "En, that's good. I will not agree for you to drive anyway," she rose up from the bed, and walked over to the window.
Shao Yan held the curtain open, and peeked outside. Heavy downpour was all she could see as far as her eyes go. Some red and yellow lights were dancing down below, indicating the traffic that was still heavy even at this late of hour.
Li Xiqing was also standing at his office window, looking outside.
"What did you eat?"
"It's late, have you eaten?"
Both of them said at the same time. And both of them paused at the same time, before suddenly burst out in chuckles together.
Li Xiqing quickly replied her, "En. Axel wanted to eat spicy fish, so we brought him to a Mala restaurant, and when we just arrived downstairs, the rain started to pour. What about you?"
Shao Yan reflexively let her other hand to wrap her arm as she was holding the phone up. She leaned on the window, enjoying the serene view in front of her.
"I cooked something, just very simple egg soup and stir fry vegetables. I am the only one eating anyway," she said, "And I just finished vacuuming the whole house too."
Li Xiqing was leaning on the window frame, also enjoying the trickles of water outside the clear gla.s.s. He could see his own self through the reflective window now that it is dark. He was looking at his silly grin on his face. A face that was showing the whole world how happy he was for only talking nonsense with his girlfriend.
His woman.
"Don't stay up too late. Go shower now and then sleep. We have to leave early tomorrow, it is lunch with Grandma, remember?" Li Xiqing started to nag her.
"I have showered already," she pouted on the phone, "I actually just finished, that was why I missed your calls earlier," she paused and then she continued again, "Xiqing, we need to leave even earlier tomorrow. We need to prepare gifts for Grandma."
Li Xiqing breathed slowly while leaning on the window frame, he unconsciously smiled when his woman was sulking just now, "I have done that, you don't have to worry. Have you told Grandma where to meet us tomorrow? Did you make sure of the address and time?"
Shao Yan purposely heaved a heavy sigh, "Li Xiqing, do you think I'm a child? Stop nagging me, I have done all that..." she wailed.
He heard her complains, and he could not help but grin again. Li Xiqing s.h.i.+fted his feet and he looked down while still smiling, "En, alright, I am just making sure, don't be angry."
Shao Yan pursed her lips, and felt a little funny. She was not really angry, and she was actually just playing around.
They continued to talk like that for more than an hour. No specific topics, and no one seemed wanted to end the call sooner.
They just enjoyed each other company.
"Are you sleepy now?" Li Xiqing purposely lowered down his tone and spoke really slow with her.
Shao Yan was bundled on the bed, she was laying on her side with the thick blanket covering her whole body.
"En, I think I will sleep soon," she replied ever so gently.
"Do you really have a place to sleep there? Don't tire yourself," she said drowsily. But a yawn still escaped her mouth as she finished her words.
Li Xiqing was sitting on the sofa in his room, He had taken off his jacket, and tie, and just leaned back comfortably.
"En, the sofa will do, don't worry about me. Yan Yan?" he called her gently.
Shao Yan gradually closed her eyes, but still responded to his call, "En? What is it?"
Li Xiqing smiled towards his phone, "Nothing, I'll hang up now, alright?"
"En," she drowsily replied him, and then she stayed real quiet for a long time.
Li Xiqing could hear her soft breathing sound through the phone. He listened in for a while more, before he hung up.
He stared at his phone screen. Both of them had been talking for more than two hours, and his phone battery was almost flat. It had been a long day and he felt so tired.
He brought down his hand to lay on the side weakly, while he brought his other hand to cover his eyes as he chuckled softly.
'What is this, Daniel?' he thought to himself, 'Both of you are acting like high school students, dating on the phone, and talking for this long.'
He laughed at himself for a while, before he dragged his body to his huge desk and charged his phone. He set up an alarm to wake up early in the morning, so he could go home and freshen up first.
And then he walked back to the sofa and started to fall asleep peacefully.
The rain outside was pouring mercilessly, but instead of feeling distant, two separated hearts had never felt closer.
