After they were done with lunch, Grandma Wu looked so tired, so Shao Yan decided to call it a day.
All of them started to walk together to the exit, with Shao Yan was hugging onto Grandma's arm and accompanied her to walk. "Grandma, the weather is getting cold, remember to always wear more clothes. Don't get sick," she started to nag on Grandma Wu, noticing that she only had a thin shawl on her shoulder. She corrected the shawl as it had started to droop.
They kept walking to Risa's car. Li Xiqing opened the car back door for Grandma to sit down. After she had settled down, Grandma Wu turned to look at Li Xiqing and then she said, "Don't forget what you have promised me. I'll see you again next month."
Li Xiqing nodded his affirmation, "Don't worry, Grandma, I will definitely keep my words. You just rest a.s.sured and please take care of your health."
After he got an acknowledgement of a nod from Grandma Wu, Li Xiqing closed the door carefully.
He turned towards Shao Yan, grabbed her hand and stood to the side as Risa walked in to the driver seat and started the car and drove away.
"There is a slight change on my itinerary. I will need to leave earlier for j.a.pan to have some meetings."
As they were driving back home, the weather was really nice outside, Shao Yan could not help to look at the scenery along the way home. During their drive this morning, she was too nervous to pay attention to her surroundings. But now that the meet up was done, and Grandma Wu had accepted Li Xiqing, her heart felt more ease, and she could finally relax.
She was paying attention to the autumn feel outside. Her nose was almost glued to the car window.
Shao Yan slowly turned around to face him when Li Xiqing said that.
Li Xiqing grabbed her hand and held it on his lap, "I will leave on Tuesday, and you will arrive on Sat.u.r.day anyway, so we have to be apart only for a few days," he paused before he slowly raised their linked hands to his lips and gave a tender kiss on the back of her hand, "are you going to be alright? To have to sleep alone without me?"
Shao Yan pursed her lips, and pouted. She also tried to yank her hand back, but Li Xiqing held it firmly.
"You really think too highly of yourself, Mister," she said jokingly while still trying to pull her hand off his hold.
Li Xiqing chuckled softly, and decided to release her hand as he saw the traffic lights had turned green again, and they started to drive away.
The week pa.s.sed by really slow.
Shao Yan was so occupied with last minute items to clear before her vacation started and Li Xiqing was also occupied with endless meetings with his clients. They only got the chance to talk on the phone for a few times.
With Li Xiqing not around, Shao Yan decided not to stay in his apartment, and instead she went back to her own place.
During these days, Shao Yan would spend her time with her team, and then lunch with Risa.
Her team had just finished a long meeting that had taken her whole morning to discuss about the year-end office celebration, when Risa came over to her desk and invited Shao Yan out for lunch.
This time, they opted for a soup dumpling restaurant, as the weather was getting even colder.
"So how long will you be in j.a.pan?" Risa asked as she picked up a soup dumpling from a bamboo basket. Shao Yan was pouring tea for both of them, "Only for a week. It's getting closer to the holiday season anyway, so both of us have so many things to do."
Risa had her chopsticks paused midair. And then she hesitantly asked, "Is this... going to be your first vacation together?" Shao Yan absentmindedly nodded at her question, while still pouring the tea, "En."
"And... you two have been living together for a few months now?"
Shao Yan placed the pot back on the table, and looked up at Risa, "Yes, we have. But this week, I'm going back to my place," she suddenly paused when she saw Risa was staring at her, "what? Is there something on my face?" and Shao Yan started to touch around her own face.
Risa slowly got back to her senses, "Uh.. So have you two done the deed?"
Shao Yan was still patting her face around. But her movement was suddenly stopped when she heard Risa asked her that question. Her face gradually turned a shade of pink, "I- I am not discussing this with you, Sis!"
Risa was biting onto the tips of her chopsticks, and then she slowly grinned, "Aw come on, Yan Yan, just say yes or no, as simple as that," she poked Shao Yan on her arms, and also nudged her a little.
Shao Yan pouted a little, before she shook her head, and started to eat her rice again.
Risa, suddenly heaved a loud gasp dramatically, and she put both hands on her chest while whispering, "No way, Yan Yan! Daniel moves so slowly! What is he, a snail?" Risa then lowered her head down, closer to Shao Yan, "Yan Yan, shall we go lingerie shopping after lunch? Let's get a killer lingerie to surprise Daniel," her eyes were glittering with excitement while looking at Shao Yan.
But before Shao Yan answered her, Risa had straightened up her body, and her face quickly changed, before she said, "Oh never mind. I changed my mind. Looking at how Daniel has been looking at you, like a hungry wolf, you will not even need a lingerie anymore."
She started to pick up her chopsticks again, "Just get naked, it'll do."
Risa paused for a while, before she continued, "Besides, with or without lingerie, at the end of the day, you will not wear anything on you, and he will just eat you full happily."
Shao Yan was gaping at how vulgar Risa words were, she quickly glanced around their table, left and right, to make sure no one was choking upon hearing her words.
