I Deserve A Second Chance Chapter 22 - On The Way Home

The next morning, Shao Yan woke up early.

She groggily stretched out for a while before slowly got up and finished drinking a gla.s.s of water.

She quickly washed up so she could tidy up her luggage.

Shao Yan had agreed to meet Miss Sea for breakfast this morning. They would be discussing the overall experiences from the past two day events.

Shao Yan also had a pending task from Mr. w.a.n.g to go through Miss Sea plans for the next 3 months.

Shao Yan went through all of her stuff again to make sure she didn't accidentally left anything behind. And then she took her room key card and dragged her luggage to exit the room.

Shao Yan was waiting for the elevator when a message came in.

'Yan Yan, I will be back next week! I can't wait to eat your braised spare pork ribs~'

Shao Yan smiled. This roommate of hers, no matter how much she ate, Qi Ling just wouldn't gained any weight. So hateful.

Shao Yan replied, 'Alright, I know. I will go to the market this weekend to buy the spare ribs'.

The elevator just arrived. Shao Yan stepped in, and keyed in the first floor.

When Shao Yan reached the breakfast area, she could only see miss manager sitting alone.

She was waiting for Shao Yan while eating her porridge.

Shao Yan put her suitcase on the side and started to get her breakfast from the buffet table.

Not long after Shao Yan arrived, Miss Sea also came down.

The three of them decided to start with light breakfast before stopping for a while later to have a quick discussion.

Shao Yan decided to go with porridge with century egg and Chinese deep fried dough stick.

Miss Sea decided to just ate fruits because she felt she had been eating bad lately.

They chatted while eating. And then they got into serious mode while discussing about work stuff.

Shao Yan opened her laptop and showed Miss Sea the published blog post about the launch of fifth volume.

"What do you think, Miss Shen?" Shao Yan asked before slowly sipping her Jasmine green tea.

Miss Sea was scrutinizing the post now. She tilted her head to the side. Her wavy hair was swiped to the other side. Her fringe fell softly on her forehead.

Her fingers were lightly tapping on the table.

She was frowning because she was in a deep thoughts. But due to her overall aura, she still looked mesmerizing.

Shao Yan couldn't understand why Mr. w.a.n.g didn't feel any interest towards this captivating woman.

"I like your choices of words. It's engaging and at the same time, mysterious. You captured the essence of my novel aura" Miss Sea said after a while and then she leaned back to her chair.

Shao Yan secretly sighed. If Miss Sea disliked it, Shao Yan would have to rewrite the whole post.

They started to move on to the next topic.

Without them realizing, it was time for them to leave to the airport.

Uncle Yang arrived on time and started to help them to load the luggage into the car.

Shao Yan went to the front desk to check out while uncle Yang was busying around.

Miss Sea and miss manager were talking seriously on the side about the plan for the rest of the week.

City Q was busy today. Luckily they left early.

There was an accident on the highway that caused a traffic jam. They were stuck for a while, before they were able to exit.

They arrived at the airport just in time for check in process. When it was their turn, the airline crew announced that there would be a short delay for this flight because the crew for this flight was stuck on the road due to traffic jam.

They would have to wait for about 2 hours.

Shao Yan felt helpless. Her original plan was to go to the office right away after she landed because the original arrival time was only around 3 in the afternoon.

But now, because of the delay, they would only arrived in the evening.

Shao Yan needed to plan for the worst case. So she took out her laptop and started working while waiting.

Shao Yan called Fan Jie to tell her about the flight delay. She also called Mr. w.a.n.g to update him on the latest news.

And then she was debating if she should also notify Li Xiqing.

Unexpectedly, Li Xiqing called her first.

"I received notification that your flight was delayed? Are you okay?"

It felt like she had not spoken to him for a long time. Shao Yan was caught off guard with his question.

"Yes, I am fine. In fact, we are all already in the airport." Shao Yan slowly stood up to walk to the window.

Miss Sea and miss manager sat next to her, and suddenly Shao Yan felt awkward to have to talk to Li Xiqing in front of them.

"But on the way here, there was an accident on the highway. It seems that the crew for this flight was stuck in the jam." Shao Yan unconsciously spoke slowly.

"They were not able to find any backup crews, so we have to wait for the original crew to arrive."

Li Xiqing was listening attentively. It was noisy on her side, so he was paying extra attention to her every word.

Shao Yan could hear murmurs and vague noises.

"I have to go now. I will be there on time. I'll see you soon." he waited for Shao Yan patiently to reply him.

Shao Yan hurriedly reply, "You go do your things, you don't have to worry about me."

Before he hung up, Shao Yan remembered something and quickly call his name, "Li Xiqing"

He was surprised for a second. This was the first time she called his name.

Shao Yan didn't think too much about it and continue, "If you're busy, you don't have to force it. I can go back by myself. I have my author and her manager with me, I can go back with them."

Li Xiqing smiled to himself.

This woman was too accustomed to do everything by herself, wasn't she?

Seems like he should work harder. To let her quickly adjust to start relying on him more.
