I Deserve A Second Chance Chapter 23 - I Finally See You Again

Li Xiqing didn't reply to her. He just repeated 'I'll see you soon'. And then he hung up.

Shao Yan didn't know what to do for a while. She walked back to her seat and started to work on her laptop again.

Shao Yan saw that Miss manager walked away somewhere. She came back a while later with sandwiches and bottles of water for them.

After few hours, the crew finally arrived. They prepared the plane, and then started to board the pa.s.sengers.

Shao Yan packed up her laptop and started to board along with them.

The weather was clear so there was no turbulence.

Miss Sea had put on sleeping eye mask, and took a nap on the flight. Miss manager was reading the inflight magazine.

Shao Yan continued working on the new blog post.

Soon, they finally landed in city S.

Because the three of them had their bags checked in, they went to the carrousel to wait for it. Shao Yan turned on her phone.

After a while, Shao Yan sent few text messages to Fan jie and Mr. w.a.n.g to tell them that she had arrived in city S.

Shao Yan also sent a text message to Li Xiqing to let him know that she had landed and was waiting for the checked baggages now. And then she kept her phone away.

Not long after, the baggages started to come out one by one. After they found their bags, they slowly walked to the exit.

Shao Yan saw him right away.

With his striking tall figure, Li Xiqing surely stood out amongst the crowd. Especially when he stood right in front of the door.

Today, he put on a suit as usual.

This time, it was navy blue color. He had white s.h.i.+rt inside his suit jacket paired, with light blue striped tie.

With this preppy look and tall figure, a lot of women around couldn't keep their eyes away from him.

He also had his gla.s.ses on him. His left hand was holding on to a paper cup and his right hand was holding onto his phone.

Shao Yan sighed softly in her heart.

Shao Yan felt guilty for taking his time away just to pick her up. He was clearly busy.

Li Xiqing was talking on the phone, but he was able to quickly spotted Shao Yan.

Today, she had dark grey printed ankle length pants, with pure white s.h.i.+rt and yellow moto velvet jacket on the outside.

Li Xiqing interrupted the person on his phone, "Martin, I will call you back later." and before Martin could reply, Li Xiqing already hung up the call.

Li Xiqing took a long strides and reached Shao Yan's side in an instant.

Miss Sea and miss manager had also been looking at him.

When Li Xiqing walked closer, all three of them had their eyes glued on his every actions.

Li Xiqing smiled at Shao Yan, and many hearts just stopped beating in that instant.

Including Shao Yan's.

Li Xiqing casually took her suitcase from her hand and pa.s.sed her the cup that he had been holding.

"Was the flight okay? Drink this to keep yourself warm."

Li Xiqing was looking closely at her complexion and waiting for her to answer him.

Shao Yan paused for a while, stunned at his action. "It's fine, there's no turbulence at all." Shao Yan gently waved the cup in her hand and smiled, "Thank you for this."

Li Xiqing just smiled back at her. His eyes gazed warmly at her. He resisted the urge to pat her head.

Shao Yan quickly turned to her side to hide the blushes on her face, "This is Deep Blue Sea, and her manager, Miss Lin."

Li Xiqing finally turned to look at them. He offered his hand, and they quickly shook hands with him and greeted him.

Li Xiqing turned back at Shao Yan, and took her laptop bag from her, and gently said, "Let's go."

He also turned to address Miss Sea and her manager, "Let me send both of you, too. The car is this way."

Li Xiqing was standing next to Shao Yan and waited for them to say something.

Both Miss Sea and miss manager were also admirer of beautiful men.

Well.. Who isn't?!

They accepted his offer right away.

Shao Yan was suddenly left with carrying only her purse and a cup of tea. She felt more guilty while looking at Li Xiqing who was carrying all her stuff.

Li Xiqing didn't really think too much about this. He was already thinking about other topics to talk to her about.

"How was city Q? Do you like it? I have been there before, their food was amazing." He walked confidently by her side.

"Yep. Their food was amazing. We got the chance to try many seafood dishes" Shao Yan grinned while remembering that night that was full of fun and lots of seafood.

Li Xiqing saw that grin, and he was curious what that was about.

He turned around and ask Miss Sea and her manager, "Do you have to go back soon? If not, why don't we have dinner first?"

Miss Sea and miss manager did not have anything plan for the rest of the day so they agreed to his suggestion.

Shao Yan was eager to start working on the post again, but she decided to go along with the majority.

Li Xiqing suggested a Chinese restaurant with specialty on duck meat. Everyone did not have any objections with it.

They reached the parking lot and Li Xiqing loaded the baggages to the trunk and then they headed to the city.

It's already the end of the day, so people had started to leave for home. Traffic was congested but everyone was comfortable inside the car.

Li Xiqing had the jazz music playing softly in the background. He also chatted along with everyone.

Li Xiqing did not follow publis.h.i.+ng industry that closely, so he was not familiar with Deep Blue Sea.

Miss Sea proudly introduced her novels to him.

Shao Yan was just sitting quietly in the pa.s.senger seat, she was replying to her work emails.

After replying to few more emails, she was done, and then joined in their conversation as well.

Traffic was pretty bad, but after driving for a while, they soon reached their destination.

Li Xiqing led them inside the restaurant. The service was good despite the busy atmosphere. He ordered two dishes and let the other picked some too.

After Miss Sea and miss manager each selected two more dishes, Shao Yan felt that they had ordered enough. So she didn't add anything anymore.
