The party was going very well. After the opening speeches, many executives were also introduced and invited to the stage to give some celebratory words.

The organizer had packed a lot of schedules to keep the stage busy, while the guests on the reception tables enjoyed their dinner.

Hotel kitchen kept sending the meals out. Appetizers and light snack. And then the main course finally came in. And then more light snacks.

Shao Yan had never been so full before, for the first time in her life, she was actually considering to skip dessert.

Before dessert, was the award ceremony.

This was the first award ceremony that Gold Crane hosted. Usually, they showed appreciation to the authors by sending gifts to their agencies.

Gold Crane had prepared some cla.s.sic categories to be appreciated tonight. The first one was for Best Selling Author. VP Zhuang was now standing on the stage, and announcing the result.

As everyone had expected, Deep Blue Sea won the award for Best Selling Author. Wrapped elegantly in a light blue dress, she walked elegantly to the stage and received her award.

The light blue dress under the stage spotlight made Miss Sea looked so elegant like a fairy descended from heaven.

"Thank you, everyone. I am honored to stand here tonight with all of you. This award will not be possible without the hardwork of Gold Crane people, yourself. So, I dedicate this award back to all the staffs that had worked hard."

Round of exciting applause echoed though the ballroom. People was excited to see a highly respected author was actually showing a great appreciation towards Gold Crane employees.

What surprised everyone again, was when she got back to her seat, Mr. w.a.n.g was actually seated next to her!

He stood up to escort her back to their table. He even pulled the chair for her.

Whoa! Juicy gossip!!

Shao Yan almost choked on her drink. The others on her table were also looking at the same direction and they could not even speak a single word.

Everyone was thinking how to kidnap Miss Sea to spill the beans!

When the awards ceremony ended, suddenly the stage lights were dimmed.

From behind, the ballroom double doors opened, and a group of ballerina dancers entered the ballroom. Around a hundred of tall female dancers, circled around the ballroom and entertained the guests.

When they were moving to the side, suddenly, rows of server's in black and white uniforms entered the area. Followed by chefs with their tall chef hats.

Spotlights were following them as they walked. On the server's hand were silver plate with pretty dessert lined up on the top.

They went from table to table to deliver desserts.

Shao Yan was gloomy, "I shouldn't have sat here and be a guest. I really wanted to take all the pictures of tonight's event."

Lee Ying heard her and patted her arm, "Yan jie, but if you do that, you don't get to eat this dessert! It's your favorite!"

And then she added, "You wouldn't get to sit with me too." Lee Ying looked down, "My interns.h.i.+p will end next week. I'm so sad."

Shao Yan really didn't know how to cheer people up. She was thinking of what to say when Fan jie joined in, "Don't worry, Xiao Ying Ying. After you graduate, call me. I will get your Yan jie to hire you!"

Lee Ying, heard this, her doggy ears quickly perked up. And then turned to Shao Yan while wagging her tail, "Really, Yan jie? Promise me ok! This is my spot! I am forever your intern!"

Shao Yan laughed. She didn't want to lose this super energetic girl too. Everyone on the table also laughed at her cheerfulness.

The party ended close to midnight.

Li Xiqing wanted to go home, but he didn't see Shao Yan around. He was about to leave the ballroom, when President Huang held him back.

"Daniel, we didn't get to chat tonight. How is the new office set up?"

Li Xiqing stopped on his track, and talked to him for a while. "It's almost done. The new hires joined this week. Next week, we will have another batch joining."

President Huang patted his shoulder, "Good. Good! Young men like you guys are really ambitious. I hope we can work together again in the future."

Li Xiqing smiled "Are you sure, President Huang? Working with me means you will loose money again like last time."

President Huang laughed heartily, "HA HA HA! But in return, I got OnScience, didn't I? This is a very good deal." he patted his shoulder again. "They're excited to enter our market too. Their representative will visit us next month."

"That's good", Li Xiqing was getting impatient, he glanced at his watch, he wanted to go find Shao Yan.

On the other hand, President Huang just kept on talking. He was in a good mood. "I think you worked with the team before. It would be great if we can all meet together for a meal next month."

Li Xiqing paused and thought for a while, "No, I don't think I worked with OnScience before, President Huang." He took out his phone and open the application to see where Shao Yan was.

"Not in country U, but they had large presence in j.a.pan. They're science fiction and fantasy publications anyway." President Huang was about to say more, but he saw that his wife was walking over.

"Then, Daniel, let's talk again next time. Come to Gold Crane next month. We will have a meeting with OnScience." President Huang patted Li Xiqing's arm amicably, and then he walked away.

Li Xiqing finally could go and find Shao Yan now, he was looking at his phone, trying to read the location.

He was about to leave, when Karl and Martin walked closer "Why are you still here?" Martin was the one who asked him first.

"Shao Yan is still somewhere, I could not find her." Li Xiqing was navigating the map around. He glanced up at his buddies, "Don't forget we have the orientation meeting tomorrow with batch one."

Karl and Martin shook their heads helplessly, "We know! You reminded us multiple times already!"

"That's all then. Thank you for tonight, Miss Gu." Shao Yan was wrapping things up with the organizer. She was so tired, she really wanted to go home, take a good long hot bath and then sleep. She felt her body was aching all over.

She was about to go upstairs, when she saw Li Xiqing was walking to her direction. Shao Yan stopped and waited for him with a smile.
