She was so gloomy. In just one night! Because of the alcohol, the smoke, the dust and the lack of sleep, now she got a pimple on her cheek.

Her cheek!

How to hide this thing when it's so glaring in front of your eyes. She sighed and solemnly promised herself not to overdo it next time.

Slowly combed through her wardrobe, she picked long sleeves, calf length beige color jumpsuit. It first overlapped at the front and then there's a tiny ribbon belt.

She wanted to wear a dress, but she checked the weather forecast just now, and it would be quite windy today. But it's also sunny, so jumpsuit would be the perfect choice.

She braided her hair loosely before swiped it to the side and tied it. Now her hair sat nicely on the right side of the neck and hopefully because her left side was open now, people would just notice her left cheek and not her right cheek.

En. Good decision, Shao Yan.

She studied her appearance one more time before nodded in satisfaction. She walked outside the hall to the shoe cabinet and carefully studied her wedges collection.

She remember him being so tall, but she was afraid to have to walk a lot today, so she picked her Balinese woven 3 inches wedges shoes with a 1inch platform at the front side.

She grabbed her sling bag and grabbed her keys. She went to parking garage and started the car.

It stalled!

She was surprised and quickly checked what might be the problem. And she found out her car battery had died! What luck!

Headache. Pimple. And now this?!

She looked at her watch and decided to just call a ride-sharing car. In 10 minutes her driver came, and she finally left her apartment to meet him.

Luckily she was on time. She went to the book shop to look for him. She found him in the automotive section, looking at a car magazine reading very seriously.

He was wearing a dark blue jeans with white s.h.i.+rt. And on the outside he had a dark grey light jacket. He was wearing a gla.s.ses with black rims and his serious look just attracted a lot of people right now. Girls would be whispering while looking at him, discussing with each other if they could approached him. But he just ignorant to his surrounding.

She enjoyed her view for few seconds before stepping closer to him. He could sensed someone was approaching him, but he didn't lift his head. When he saw her wedges and her soft perfume, then he finally looked up and stared directly into her eyes.

He could see the appreciative look in her eyes. He tilted his head to the side and showed a small smile as if questioning her look.

She quickly gathered herself and said, "You looked different in casual clothes, very good looking. You gathered some fans already."

She pointed her chin to a side to show the group of girls who were still looking at him.

He didn't look at them, he smiled at her and took the magazine with him. He extended his arm and signalled her to walk out first.

She started moving and he followed closely from behind. "Did you need my advise on something? My department frequently work with architecture and also romance thriller section chiefs. I could recommend some books on that area."

He didn't say anything so they kept walking to the cas.h.i.+er. He paid for his magazine and then turned around to look at her and started walking outside side by side.

Once they're outside, he then said, "I just moved back permanently to the country last month, and you're the first friend that I made. It's been many years since, and the city changed a lot. For my job purposes, I need to familiarize myself to the area. I was hoping you could be my guide for today."

She stopped walking and looked at him. "I think you got the wrong person" she slowly said, "Even though I work and live here, my life was limited to work area and grocery shops nearby my apartment."

He smiled, "Then that's even better." He started to walk again to the parking garage. She was baffled but still followed him.

"How was it better? I just said I couldn't help you much." He slowed down his steps to match hers.

He directed her to a much shady area since the sun was so bright this morning. "It's better now that we are both not familiar with the area, so I can accompany you to explore as well."

He turned around to look at her, "We can get lost together and then learned new stuff together. So that's even better."

He gave her a small smile.

She carefully looked at him now. This guy spelled dangerous all over his self! She eyed him closely.

He realized he might have missed a step here to caused her to be this alarmed. He was about to introduce himself, when his phone rang.

He looked at the caller and showed her his index finger indicating he needed a minute. He picked up the phone in front of her and didn't walk away, he suddenly spoke in English, "This is Daniel speaking." and then he paused to listen.

Ah. His name is Daniel.

She just realized she didn't even know his name until now. She felt to stupid for being so careless now. You can't be a good project manager if you acted like this, Shao Yan! She scolded herself.

He then continued to speak in English fluently. The essence of his conversation was basically direction to his subordinate on what steps to be taken next. It seemed that the other side was facing a road block and was looking for him for suggestions.

He quickly ended the call and then he looked at her, "I think I haven't introduce myself. My name is Li Xiqing. You can call me Qing or Daniel. It's up to you. I'm a consultant, specialized in Mergers and Acquisition."

She was dumfounded. Bro! How can I call you Qing. That was usually reserved for your closed ones, okay! And as for Daniel. That's even weird. She sighed. Nevermind, I'll just call you Mr. Li.

"Okay, now Mr. Li, what do you want to do next then?" She was looking left and right trying to remember what they could explored around this area.

He didn't argue with her calling him Mr. Li.

That's, fine, he thought, let's give her time to adjust.

"I will be working with developer company C to acquire a small architecture company. They want to develop the east region. Let's go the shopping mall there to take a look at the area." he then walked to direction of parked cars.

She followed him and saw him pointed his car remote to a dark blue Audi Q8 SUV car. He opened the pa.s.senger door for her, waited until she sat inside before closing the door and walked to the other side.
