I Deserve A Second Chance Chapter 89 - Rainy Day

As she watched the two tall men walked towards her directions, Shao Yan unconsciously stiffened up. All the memories came back flooding her brain, as if time had returned to many years ago. When the same four people were meeting for lunch in the university canteen.

When Shao Yan was dating Liwei, she did not hang around his friends so much. Probably during the one-two years they were together, she only met his roommate a couple of times.

From physical appearance itself, the most memorable one was definitely Lu Qian. Lu Qian was not as charismatic as Liwei, or as tall as Zhong Yu. His point of attraction was similar to Feifei, both of them had prominent dimples when they speak or smile.

He was also the reason why Shao Yan was introduced to Liwei in the first place. Because Shao Yan's roommate, Lu Feifei, was Lu Qian's younger sister.

As Shao Yan and Feifei were looking at them as Lu Qian and Zhong Yu walked towards them slowly, before finally, both men were standing right in front of them.

"What are you doing here?" Zhong Yu opened the question first.

Shao Yan who had never hung out with other people except for her co-workers, suddenly had three new friends talking to her. Her co-workers' curious eyes were hovering all over Shao Yan and her companions.

"Ah?" Shao Yan was surprised, and didn't say anything for a while. Her mind was still tracing the memories she had with these three people from few years back.

She gradually came back and answered him "Oh, my office is just next door. And I just finished lunch with my co-workers" she slightly turned her body and pointed to the group of people behind her.

Two sides of people were looking at each other, and smiled. From a distant, everyone raised their hands and nodded their heads as form of greetings to each other.

Feifei hooked her arm onto Shao Yan's and lightly clung onto her "Yan Yan, I didn't know you guys had come back. Give me your phone number," she swiftly let go of her arm and then took out her phone from her purse and handed it over to Shao Yan.

Shao Yan helplessly smiled. This cheerful att.i.tude of hers indeed never changed. Included with the ever so eye-catching dimples, Feifei always had her charms to make her way with everyone.

"Let's arrange for all of us to meet for dinner, shall we? Brother Qian and I are moving to City S soon. He got a job here and I am going to open my own cake shop"

Shao Yan was typing her numbers, when Feifei continued, "Oh Yan Yan, put in Liwei's number as well. So if we can't reach you, we can call him instead."

Shao Yan's fingers suddenly stopped typing.

When she left Liwei, she did not bother to inform any of their university friends about their separation. Because she felt that it was embarra.s.sing for her.

Shao Yan was contemplating on how to tell Feifei, Lu Qian and Zhong Yu about this; when Zhong Yu suddenly chimed in.

"Feifei, Liwei did not come back with Shao Yan. He chose to stay in country U."

Feifei seemed to have guessed what that was implied. At first, she felt awkward and did not know what to do. She looked a little lost before she tactfully said something else.

"Hey! Ambitious men are troublesome. Let's not talk about him" Feifei huffed a dramatic sigh and then clicked her tongue while scowling, "That's fine, Yan Yan, we can just go for dinner ourselves!" her cheerful att.i.tude automatically went overdrive and took over the awkward silence.

She hooked her arm around Shao Yan's shoulder, "How about tonight? And then we go to karaoke as well. Okay okay?" Feifei lightly shook Shao Yan again, "Okay?"

Shao Yan laughed, "Hold on, let me check" she patted her arm to Feifei and then she took out her phone and opened her calendar to check her schedules. She had customer meeting tonight, from five until seven o'clock. Hopefully she could finish the meeting on time.

Shao Yan locked the phone again and looked up at Feifei "After seven should be fine, let's eat Korean BBQ?" Shao Yan suggested.

Lu Feifei turned to Lu Qian and Zhong Yu for their opinion. Lu Qian just shrugged and Zhong Yu just nodded his head to answer yes "Sure, that's actually a good idea in a cold weather like this."

After chatted for a little while more, Shao Yan decided to head back to the office as her lunch time was almost over. Shao Yan peeked at the sky outside. The drizzle seemed to have slowed down.

After saying their goodbyes at the front entrance of the mall, Shao Yan was about to run back to the office with her co-workers; when she felt a hand on her shoulder that kept her still.

Zhong Yu turned to Lu Qian and Lu Feifei saying, "Lu Qian, lend me your umbrella. You guys wait here. Let me walk her back to the office first" and he turned around and looked at Shao Yan.

"Let's go, I have an umbrella." he let go off his hand on her shoulder. Only now did she notice that Zhong Yu had been carrying a big umbrella in his hand. So now, added on the newly acquired umbrella from Lu Qian, Zhong Yu got two umbrellas in his hand.

Zhong Yu started to walk to the exit, and met her other co-workers, he nodded at them as greetings.

"h.e.l.lo, I'm Zhong Yu, Shao Yan's university friend. I will walk Shao Yan back to the office." he addressed everyone politely and then he turned to Fan jie and Li Na, "I have an extra umbrella here, pretty ladies, you are welcome to use it" and then he casted a charming smile.

Fan jie was fangirling when this cute, young man spoke to her. She quickly took the umbrella that he was offering in front of them, "Handsome brother, thanks!"

Shao Yan just caught up to Zhong Yu when she heard Fan jie said her thanks.
