Sons Of High Society Chapter 31 - Game (1)

The weekend came, and both Long Huojin and Xue Guangli had two days off.

Xue Guangli wore a white sundress and kept her hair in braids. Long Huojin flushed at the sight of her when she greeted him with a kiss and a smile before settling into his study room to proceed with the case.

"I asked Qian Meigui to give me some access to previous court doc.u.ments," began Xue Guangli, eyeing Long Huojin. "Therefore, it's totally legal, and we won't get into trouble if caught."

Long Huojin chuckled, knowing full well that Xue Guangli did not like the initial stunts he pulled getting some of the other reports.

They both spent the morning reading. Long Huojin sat by the windowsill, reading by the sunlight. Whereas, Xue Guangli paced around the room, observing files, putting pieces together, trying to comprehend words she didn't understand.

"Ugh!" Xue Guangli said from frustration, raising her arms. "How can lawyers understand any of this?"

Long Huojin placed some of his papers aside and beckoned her to come to him with a wave of his hand. She slumped her arms and approached him sulkily.

Long Huojin patted his lap, where she sat on it, facing away from him. "Don't worry," he said while ma.s.saging her shoulders. "It will be soon that we can bring the killer to light and get your father out of jail."

Xue Guangli turned to face him. She then reached out to take his gla.s.ses from his face. She folded them and placed them aside before she turned and leaned on his body. She sprawled herself on him as he held her from behind. He kissed her on the head, grasping her fingers and rubbing soothing strokes over her hands.

Xue Guangli looked out the window as Long Huojin held her tightly. Long Huojin picked up his gla.s.ses and began to read the doc.u.ments to her.

Xue Guangli was nearly falling asleep when she heard someone enter the study room.

Xue Guangli shot her eyes opened and glared daggers at Yin Shou who was at the door. She then rose and said, "Don't you ever knock?"

Yin Shou fiend ignorance. "What? I live here too," he said.

They continued to argue when Long Huojin laughed. But behind Yin Shou came in Xue Teegan, Xue Liena, and Long Bolin. It stunned Xue Guangli. "I invited them here," Long Huojin interrupted.

Xue Guangli turned to face him, "Oh," she said with an apologetic expression. "Why are they here?" she asked curiously.

Long Huojin smiled and leaned in to whisper something in her ear. "You've been stressed lately. Just take the rest of the day off," he said lowly, only she could hear.

"Get a room!" Yelled Yin Shou. But Xue Teegan had pulled his ear, dragging him out of the room. "Idiot!" she said.

Long Bolin and Xue Liena stood awkwardly at the doorway.

Long Huojin took Xue Guangli's hand and said with a smirk, "Let's play some tennis." Xue Guangli smiled at him with a mischevious glint.

Long Huojin had a tennis court in his yard. They all walked towards the court when Yin Shou said, "How are we going to play in pairs? Boys and girls or boys vs. girls?

Xue Teegan smiled. "I'm hoping it was girls vs. boys, so my sisters and I can school you kids."

Yin Shou smiled. "I won't count on it, sweetheart."

Xue Teegan removed her sweater, revealing a short skirt and crop-top above her belly b.u.t.ton that hugged her b.r.e.a.s.t.s tightly. Yin Shou gritted his teeth at the sight of her, but she only smirked at him. She then approached him challengingly. "Won't get distracted now, will you?" she teased.

Yin Shou set his jaw. When Xue Teegan left to speak to her sisters, he quickly took out a handkerchief to wipe his b.l.o.o.d.y nose.

Xue Guangli and Xue Teegan positioned themselves on the tennis court, across Long Huojin and Yin Shou.

"Why don't we make this interesting?" Yin Shou proposed.

"And what is that?" Xue Teegan snapped.

"Bet?" he suggested.

"Terms?"

"If the boys win, then you have to do what we say for a whole day, and not refuse."

Xue Teegan smiled at the challenge, "all right," she began. "And if the girls win, you boys would have to strip down to your boxers and run around the neighbourhood without getting caught by security," she said.

Yin Shou smiled.

Xue Guangli and Xue Teegan took their position, keeping their knees bent, their eyes sharp and focused. Yin Shou and Long Huojin followed, but they didn't underestimate them.

Xue Teegan started by throwing the ball high, striking it hard and fast across the court. Long Huojin took the hit. Xue Guangli hit it back, skidding pa.s.s Yin Shou. Yin Shou missed.

"15-love," shouted Xue Teegan.

"I know, dear; you don't have to refer me to my bedroom name," he said.

Xue Teegan flushed. "I'm talking about the points system. I wasn't calling you 'love.'"

Xue Guangli and Long Huojin chuckled.

The game continued.

The four of them were already panting, but they played two more rounds, and surprisingly, Long Huojin and Yin Shou won. The boys rubbed it in their faces, and Xue Teegan shot them a look of disdain.

Afterwards, Xue Liena and Long Bolin took their positions against them.

Xue Liena approached the court with her black hair tied up in two ponytails curled at the ends while Long Bolin wore a headband to keep his black curls from falling in his face.

Yin Shou took the first shot, aiming pa.s.sed Xue Liena, but she hit the tennis ball hard with a loud grunt. Long Huojin aimed his racket, but he never stood a chance. Xue Liena smirked with her sweet smile.

The rounds pa.s.sed, and it did not take long for Yin Shou and Long Huojin to lose against Xue Liena and Long Bolin eye-wide and surprised.

After they won, Xue Teegan and Xue Guangli ran up to hug Xue Liena.

Long Huojin and Yin Shou gritted their teeth.

Xue Teegan approached them and said, "While I gravitate towards music and Guangli to the arts. My dear Liena is more into sports. You guys lost!"

"Technically," began Xue Liena, "You all lost, except for Bolin and I."

"What?" Xue Teegan said.

"HA!" Yin Shou rose and shouted.

"My own little sister is a traitor!" Xue Teegan fiend sarcastically.

Xue Liena smiled and said, "Sorry. I didn't make the rules." She then performed a handshake with Long Bolin who relished in their defeat.

"It's always the quiet ones," Yin Shou mumbled.

Long Huojin and Yin Shou then stripped down to their underwear as they ran around the neighbourhood, embarra.s.sed. The two of them held their crotches, trying not to have their prints seen.

It did not take long for officers to chase them down a hill, running.

Xue Teegan laughed uncontrollably.

When they returned, they were exhausted from outrunning the officers.

"That was enjoyable to witness," Xue Teegan commented.

Yin Shou gritted his teeth. "Watch it; you still have to cash in the bet," he said.

"Do your worst," said Xue Teegan.
