The Vampire Project 33 The Vampire Hunters

Slacovich, Li and Diego takes Caroina back to the hotel with them. They introduce her as an old friend who happened to work in the island. After letting all their employees enjoy their stay they all set out to leave. This time, they're all prepared to deal with Volton and his men. As soon as they arrived at the mansion, they give her a room of her own. Tyler and Li also lets her have access to their workshops. They can't wait till Harry comes back and team up with Carolina in making the antidote. What they don't know is that, when they're gone Volton already make an action. He already deployed a few of his uncontrollable men to lurk into the night. Everytime when it's going dark, the streets are empty when before they can still people doing business at night. The news about monsters lurking the night reaches their company. The guards at their company reported everything that happened for the days they were gone.

"President Demonfire I already checked the cctvs in all of our areas. The rumors are true. There are vampires that freely preys on anyone they see. I've called on the security in charge for those three days. He encountered them face to face." Li lets the security in charge to come into his office.

"President Demonfire, good day to you." Slacovich can still see the fear in his eyes.

"Secretary Li, kindly give him a gla.s.s of water to calm him down. Please take a seat and feel comfortable."

"Yes sir. I'll just bring him some delicious snacks and refreshments rather than water." Secretary Li leaves the two of them.

"I'm gonna ask you directly about what happened. Tell me every bit of it. Rest a.s.sured I won't let harm comes to my employees. You're not an exception."

"I'm g--glad to hear that President Demonfire. I'm gonna tell you everything that happend that very first night that it all began. It was about my time to do my roving in our vicinities. Checking and making sure every doors were close and no windows left open. But when I was about to go to the bas.e.m.e.nt for inspection there's one car that's left in the parking area. I wonder who left it when everyone left for the team building. I went near it to check if someone's inside. I saw two people in there, so I decided to flash some light on their faces for they seem to just sit thereand not moving. B-But-----" recalling what he saw that very night makes him tremble in fear till now. Secretary Li came back with some refreshments and gives them to the shaking man in front of them.

"We will handle that matter carefully. You must tell us exactly what's in there." Li squeezes his shaking hands gently a.s.suring that his safe with them.

"When the light hits their faces they freaked out. Their eyes turns red and I can see their fangs as they opened up their mouth. I panicked and fell down on the floor. They're not humans at all. I ran away as far from them and I can hear the broken windows of the car. I remembered Secretary Li's instructions that the stairs going down from the parking area leads to the safest place in the whole company. I radioed the others and asked them to head for the bas.e.m.e.nt. We're all 8 guards on duty that very night. Thankfully all of us made it safe to the bas.e.m.e.nt. But when I think that the monsters were gone, they showed up in front of us flapping their bone-like wings and disfigured body. We shoot them both but it's no use. They seem not to be hurt even a little. We almost lost hope when we ran back to the walls in the edge of the bas.e.m.e.nt. We just heard a computer's voice saying threat detected, securing personnel's safety, initiating defense mode. We're all glad for those security system that the company have. Those killed those monsters turning them into ashes. We towed the car away from the company in the morning. The rest of the night we stayed at the bas.e.m.e.nt. Aside from that car nothing else was suspicious. The next nights, the company's secured but we can hear screams from outside. We don't even dare to open the door to save them for those monsters lurking at night were merciless. We're cowards yet there's nothing else we can do." The man becomes sobber realizing how tragic those nights were.

"I understand, and no one will blame you. You did what you think is good for you and your colleagues. Don't worry, from now on i'll make sure everyone can finish working every 4:00 pm. Hurry home and make sure the doors are securely locked. Secretary Li implement it now. Put a notice on every department's bulletin board."

"Yes President Demonfire. I'll be going now."

"As for you, aren't you afraid of going back here in the company after what have happened?"

"No sir, I feel safest here in the company but I'm always worried about my family's safety when I'm at work."

"There'll be no one inside the company after 4:30 pm. When all employees leave at 4 the guards immediately makes sure that no one's still inside then totally close the company. Me and the rest of the managers will stay till everyone has left. You don't have to trouble yourself anymore. You'll be more at peace when your with your family. I'll ask Manager Diego to release some funds for upgrades on your guns. You can also bring it home, with it you can protect your family. Inform every security personnel to proceed to the meeting room for a few change of your works."

"I will be right to it President Demonfire. Thanks a lot for your kindness. I will go now." As the man opens the door he b.u.mped into Carolina who seems to also have heard of the rumors for her to rush into his office.

"Have you heard of the monsters lurking at night?" She still pants after running the stairs instead of waiting for the elevator.

"Yes, I just talked with the witness."

"So? What's your plan?"

"First, I need to secure the safety of my employees. Volton did planted that surprise attack while I'm gone. Good thing Li and Tyler sets up a security system at the bas.e.m.e.nt and informs the guards about it. That saved their lives. Volton needs to pay for this. He already caused so much despair and fear in the people around us."

"We need to act fast. I really need some blood sample of the first gen vampires."

"We'll do that tonight."

"We're gonna go hunting vampires?"

"You can call it that way."

"It's ironic that the Vampire Hunters are vampire themselves. Can I have a suggestion?"

"What do you suggest?"

"It's better to have a face that vampires fear of. I volunteer to be that certain vampire hunter."

"What can I nerd like you do in battle?" Slacovich's about to stand up when Carolina grabs a dagger hidden from her boots and aims it at Slacovich's throat. Her speed got Slacovich by surprise.

"I maybe a nerd but I'm well trained in close combat. Cleaning up my father's mess isn't an easy job. I need to be fully prepared when going inside a battlefield."

"Not bad. Then I won't stop you. Each one of us have different resolve. Just make sure not to be a burden and delay us in the future."

"Heh, I'm not a baby who needs baby sitting."

"We'll see later tonight. It's about time for all employees to finish their work for the day. After securing the area let's head back to the mansion and prepare for some hunting." Carolina giggles in excitement. Finally, the years of training will now be tested. Ending the cause of trouble will a.s.sure the safety of the human race.

As the sun abouts to set, people in the streets hurried to pack their things, closing their stores, locking up every doors and windows till the once noisy streets suddenly becomes empty. Slacovich and the others are preparing to hunt down those monsters that the people feared so much. Volton's actions declared all out war between them. There's still policemen who's roving every corner of the street, making sure no one's around during at night. Li handed out guns with a magazine full of silver bullets. One bullet in the heart is all they need to kill them. Carolina takes a gun with her too then she laid out all her daggers made out of silver. She even have shurikens with her.

"You're really prepared to fight huh." Diego loaded up a magazine on his rifle.

"Always." She grins as she packs some daggers with her.

"Let's split up in pairs. I'll be going with Li, Tyler and Ara then Diego and Carolina."

"Wear this earpiece, each of us can communicate with it. If someone's in trouble inform the others so that we can regroup." Li handed the ear pieces.

"Okay, but please don't forget I need blood samples. I'll give you a vial each and fill it out with first gen blood." Carolina gives each of them a small box with vial and injection inside it.

"Copy. Can I stay out till sunrise? I just wanna make sure they can't hurt anyone again." Ara knows how it feels to always watch out for danger. Having no one to fight for her before makes her so eager to protect those children she took care of.

"We will all stays up till sunrise." Tyler pats her head and gives her a peck on the lips.

They're all set to hunt some vampires. Fully geared up and ready to fire whenever. They split into two and heads in different places to cover more areas. As soon as it get dark they can hear loud breathing all over the place. Seems like Volton lets out an army this time as a welcoming gift for the Demonfire. They also spotted a few patrol cars roving the streets. One patrol car's being followed by three vampires waiting to strike without their target knowing what's gonna happen. The night's still young yet the troublemakers are already about to strike.
