Leng Ran chuckled and immediately helped her open the door.
During the journey, Yan Qingsi asked Leng Ran. “Why did you choose to go into acting when your family is decently well-off?”
Leng Ran answered earnestly, “I like acting, but my parents were against it. After I graduated, my dad told me that my family wouldn’t be helping me if I chose to be an actor. He told me not to expect the Leng family’s help and influence in whatever I do. I was young and wild, so I argued with him and said that I’ll succeed even without his help.”
Yan Qingsi listened to Leng Ran’s story and felt envious. Despite his parents’ objection, they only did so out of concern. His life at home had been blessedly peaceful since he was young, and it was likely that he did not understand the true hards.h.i.+ps of life.
“You’ll definitely succeed.”
“Thanks for the encouragement, Miss Qingsi. I’ll keep working hard.”

After reaching the hotel, Leng Ran kindly opened the door for Yan Qingsi and helped her down in a very gentlemanly manner.

“Find a place to rest. When dinner is over, we’ll head out together.”

Before he could finish, Yan Qingsi released herself from his arm and ambled away.
Leng Ran could only stare at her rear figure. He had the feeling that she was stepping into a battle zone full of fighting spirit.
Luo Jinchuan was exchanging polite banter with two of the company’s bosses, when all of a sudden, he heard an enchantingly tender voice ring beside his ear. “Dear future brother-in-law…”
Her greeting was mellow and alluring as she let her final syllable trail off. Just listening to her voice made his heart tickled.
Luo Jinchuan hand trembled along with the flute of champagne he held—that voice was nothing but a curse to him.
