Outside of the international airport, a slim figure with a leopard patterned jacket, five inches high heels and sungla.s.ses walked out with her luggage. She tipped a few big bills to the porter who helped her carry five bags of luggage from the gates to the taxi. With a grin on her face, she reached the handle of the taxi door and entered the back seat, "I'm back, Brother Yuo."
The taxi driver saw her tip the porter a generous number of tips. Immediately, his att.i.tude to her changed greatly to one that is filled with respect. "Where would you like to go, miss?"
"I want to go to Tian Corporations at 45 Luxuries Road." After getting in the taxi, she removed her sungla.s.ses, put on her earphones, and replayed the last voicemail that Tian Yuo had sent her.
"Karen.. I love you..." The man's voice made her smile stretch wider than before. Within fifteen minutes, she arrived at Tian Corps. In the past, Tian Yuo told everyone in the company that if she was the one visiting, then she can enter the company at any time without any appointments or prior notice.
Stepping out of the vehicle, the driver helped carry her luggage to the front desk of Tian Corps. Including the tips and trip cost, she paid him triple the amount that she needed to pay. The manager recognized Karen and asked the other staffs to help her with the luggage.
"Thanks." She greeted them with an arrogant tone.
Meanwhile in Tian Yuo's office, the housekeeper just finished setting up Tian Yuo's lunch on the dining table. As soon as Tian Yuo sat down and picked up his fork, the door to his office creaked open. Karen walked in and ran to his side, "Brother Yuo! I'm back!"
Taken aback by her sudden appearance, he hugged her lightly and captured the girl's heavy cotton candy fragrance. The scent was overly sweet but was not popular amongst consumers because of how heavy it smelled. Only Karen would like such a unique scent.
As the fragrance filled his nostrils, reality hit him, "K..Karen? You're really back!" he threw the fork away and looked at the face that he wished to dream of every night. The housekeeper frowned upon her entrance and ill-mannered behavior. Clearly, Tian Yuo was a married man, so she should be keeping her distance from him and watch her actions.
Her presence around the company stirred the interests amongst the employees, and everyone wondered if she was the mistress of Tian Corps. The housekeeper coughed lightly, warning her to watch her actions.
"Oh! Housekeeper Xu, I didn't see you here. How are you doing?" Karen hugged Tian Yuo's arm as she asked politely. It sounded polite, but her actions made him feel disturbed.
"Miss. Karen, I'm doing well. It's quite a surprise to see you back. I'll leave you two alone. Young master Tian Yuo, when you're finished with the food, leave the empty container on the table and I will come to retrieve it later." He didn't want to stay even a second longer.
"Oh... about that, since Karen is here, you can pack everything back home. I'll have lunch with her at her favorite restaurant." Hearing Tian Yuo's words made the housekeeper sigh inwardly, "Alright. I will clean the table for you."
Tian Yuo told the employees to leave her luggage inside his office before he headed out to eat lunch with her. Housekeeper Xu immediately sent Shen Wen a message telling her about Karen's sudden arrival.
In all honesty, he never felt good vibes coming from Karen. Instead, he thought that Susu was the good mannered and respectful lady from the Yin family, whom he truly admired for the patience that she had for Tian Yuo.
After packing the food back into its containers, he went back to Tian residence. The moment he entered the kitchen, he saw Susu scrubbing the edges of the stove, trying to remove cooking stains. "Ma'am, you don't have to do this. We can easily remove the stains if you are bothered by it."
Susu turned around and greeted him with a bright smile, "Ah! Uncle Xu, you're back! I recently came up with a healthier home remedy for removing these stains without the use of harsh chemical products. I wanted to try it out. You guys do enough around the house already, so let me do something little for once."
He sighed, "Ma'am, you are the mistress of the house. You shouldn't be doing these heavy ch.o.r.es."
"Heavy ch.o.r.es?! These? Just scrubbing, cleaning, and rinsing? You call this a heavy ch.o.r.e? Uncle Xu, you must have missed my story telling times lately. I worked since I was fourteen years old to earn my own money and supported my own expenses. Compared to those times, this is considered smaller than pea size the amount of an easy ch.o.r.e."
She removed the kitchen gloves and looked at the spotless stove top satisfyingly, "You're back quite early today. Didn't you go to deliver lunch to Tian Yuo? Was he not in the office?" She saw the untouched lunch container in the housekeeper's hands.
"About that... uhm.. ma'am, I'm not sure if I should tell you this..." He hesitated in telling her that her step sister came back and was hugging her husband intimately.
"What is it?" She poured herself a cup of warm water and listened closely.
"Young Master Tian Yuo was going to eat his lunch, but it was suddenly interrupted...by..." he paused, not wanting to hurt Susu's feelings. He had seen her caring efforts for the Tian family, so he didn't have the heart to break it to her.
"Uncle Xu, what's wrong? You're usually straightforward when talking. Who interrupted his lunch that he even asked you to pack the food back home?" She looked at him slightly worried.
"It..It's your stepsister, Karen. She came to his office without prior notice with her luggage.." Hearing his words, she stopped drinking the warm water and placed the cup onto the table.
"Oh...alright. Thanks for letting me know." Susu's heart skipped a few beats when she heard Karen's name. She knew that there would be a day where Karen would come back, but never expected it to be this soon.
Since she came back, then that means their marriage is most likely ending soon. That also means that her days of being a filial daughter-in-law and granddaughter-in-law is reaching an end as well.
With a smile on her face, she rolled up her sleeves, "It's time to prepare dinner. Uncle Xu, can you help me get some vegetables from the garden? I'm making a fresh salad with my secret recipe tonight!"
Housekeeper Xu wanted to say more words, but stopped when she saw the forced smile on her face, "Alright."
After he had left the kitchen area, Susu mumbled, "Karen, I hope you changed for the better this time around. Since you wanted to be his wife so badly, I would love to hand my current status to you. But if you scheme against me again, I wont hesitate to fight back."
