"We're here." Someone's voice interrupted my thoughts.
I turned my head to look at them, only to find Mr. Alaric out of the car, holding the door open for me. When did the car ever stop? I must have been too lost in my own world to realize. I quickly got out and fixed my dress before looking at the amazing sight in front of me.
This house was huge.
I had never seen anything like this before. He must be really rich and that leads to two things: he must be truly talented or just lucky.
The mansion wasn't company new, he must have inherited it from his parents or something, but even though it wasn't modern it still managed to look amazingly beautiful. It was black and mysterious, just like its owner, with a beautiful garden and big oak trees. A cobblestone walkway was leading to the front door and a few cage lanterns in the form of spheres hang next to it, making it look more welcoming.
"Follow me." Mr. Alaric said and started walking as the large gate behind us closed automatically, leave the car and Zed behind. I started walking fast, trying to keep up with him and at the same time observed the place.
He owned all this.
Once we were near the door it opened wide and we were greeted by an old looking woman, who smiled Mr. Alaric politely and stepped on the side for us to walk in. She was short, but slim elegant, her honey brown with gray strands hair was styled in an elegant bun and her warm brown eyes were looking at me with sympathy. She must be the maid, that's what I understood from her outfit.
The house inside was just like I expected it to look... expensive. White marble flooring and white walls with black and white paintings decorating them. I'm not sure if they were Mr. Alaric or not but either way they looked nice. In the front was a big staircase with wooden handrail and black iron bal.u.s.ters leading to the second floor and next to it stood two decorative plants.
"h.e.l.lo, Mr. Alaric." The old woman said.
"How are you, Agnes?" He asked her with a warm tone, which surprised me. He wasn't being rude or distant with her, it looked like the old woman, Agnes, was much closer to him than anyone else. Maybe they knew each other for a long time.
"I'm fine, thank you. Do you want me to bring you anything?" She asked him, eyeing me.
Mr. Alaric turned his head to look at me for a bit and then laced his hand on my back, causing me to jump a bit in surprise.
"I would like you to bring some food and clean sheets up in the guest room for our guest." He told her and she nodded before going towards the opposite direction and disappearing, so I have now left again alone with the mysterious man.
He quickly guided me upstairs and we started walking through the long corridor. I could see many doors and I was really curious to know what was hiding behind each one of them, but I didn't dare ask him. I knew that he wouldn't answer me and I also didn't want to make him angry.
"This is going to be your room from now on." He informed me and pushed a door open with his hand to reveal the room which made my eyes widen.
It was beautiful. The walls were beige with a big window on one side, which was covered with a dark blue curtain. In the left corner stood a big wooden wardrobe and next to it was a counter with a large mirror hanging on the wall. The bed was in the middle of the only thing I wanted to do was jump on it and never get up. The floor was covered by a white puffy carpet and the walls were decorated with paintings like the ones downstairs, only with a bit lighter colors. This room was amazing, just like the rest of the house, and it was mine. I wanted to thank him, I didn't expect him to give me a room like this especially since I was nothing but a Doll for him.
I turned around a bit too fast to find him standing just a few inches away from me and that made me panic, so I tried to take a step back, but that only ended up in m losing my balance due to the high heels I was wearing. I was about to fall on my b.u.t.t, but Mr. Alaric was wrapped around my waist as my hands rested on his shoulders and he steadied me. I was in loss of words, I couldn't think straight, not when we were this close. His lips were so close, so close that I could kiss him if I wanted, but I didn't. This was the second time he saved me from falling... in a day.
"Thank you," I whispered and I expected him to say nothing like earlier.
"You really are a clumsy person, can't even stand on your own." He said with annoyance. Excuse me?
"I-I sorry." I stuttered, still holding on to him, even though, I was perfectly standing right now.
He smirked and brought his face closer, looking down at me.
"Goodnight darling, I expect you to behave just like a good girl." He whispered in my ear and with that let go of me, before disappearing into the dark corridor. After standing for a while like that I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and sat on the edge of the bed.
What was that? Why did he do that?
"Excuse me." A soft voice said and I looked at the door to find Agnes holding a small tray of food in one hand and on the other, some new sheets. I quickly stood up and took the tray from her hands, placing it on the table near the bed. She just smiled at me.
"It wasn't necessary, my dear." She told me, laughing a bit as she started changing the sheets on the bed.
"I wanted to help you."
"Thank you." She replied, turning to look at me.
She didn't ask who I was or why I was staying here. Maybe she already knew or maybe Mr. Alaric had told her not to ask. Either way, I was glad she didn't because I feel ashamed of what I am- I had become.
"Jace wanted me to tell you something." She said after a while, breaking the silence and I looked at her confused, causing her to smile. Was Jace Mr. Alaric? Loren had told me his name, but I didn't pay much attention to it. I had other things to worry about them.
"Sorry, I meant Mr. Alaric." She corrected herself. "He told me to tell you that tomorrow morning he wants you in his office." She informed me and I nodded my head.
"Why didn't he come to tell me," I asked her, raising my eyebrows. She shook her head.
"I don't know." She finished the bed and put the pillows on top of it, before walking to the wardrobe behind me.
"You know, you can change that dress it looks quite uncomfortable my dear." She told me and it was my time to smile.
"You have no idea. Oh, and you can call me Teresa. My name is Teresa."
"Okay then, Teresa. Here you can find all the clothes you need. Mr. Alaric made sure you have everything.' She said smiling.

Did he really do that? I opened it and was amazed by all the nice and expensive clothes I found in it, he really had bought everything I needed. They were all fas.h.i.+onable and looked beautiful, nothing like the ones they gave me to wear in the Dollhouse.
"Do you need any help or can I go?" Agnes asked.
"No, I'm fine, thank you. you can go." I told her, keeping my voice low. It was weird having someone to a.s.sist you.
"Goodnight, Teresa." She nodded and closed the door.
I took out a nightgown from the wardrobe and placed it on the bed before taking off my shoes and the short dress. I just wanted to burn this thing. I put on the short red nightgown and ran my hands over the soft, silk material.
I looked at the table and then remembered that Agnes had brought me food, but I wasn't that hungry and seeing that it was soup really didn't make me want to eat so I just rested on the bed. Bringing the sheets over my body to cover my exposed legs, I started at the ceiling. I felt extremely tired and the soft mattress of the bed was so comforting, I just wanted to close my eyes and sleep, to forget about everything and everyone, but I also knew that tomorrow was going to be a long day. Mr. Alaric made it clear.
Jace Alaric.
