It started with a sudden shove from behind.

Followed by an unwanted dip into an ice cold lake.

A frightened scream, out of rosy pink lips.

The sight of a little girl struggling to flee.

A rough pair of arms and meaty hands, quickly held her down.

Allowing no escape.

She clawed and she pulled.

His hold only tightened.

Bubbles continued to float up to the surface of the lake.

A desperate plea spoken underwater.

Minutes pa.s.sed.

The little girl grew weaker.

Her heart beat, fainter.

Gradually, her struggling lessened.

The bubbles faded.

Her time was up.

Her pale blue eyes, teared up one last time.

Then they closed.

She had taken her last breath.

A mocking laugh followed by the thought of accomplishment.

Blood stained hands released their hold.

A tired cough followed by retreating footsteps.

Her long silky pink hair, wrapped elegantly around her pale and lifeless body.

Hidden perfectly within the sea of fallen flower petals.
