'Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, owww! What's with this headache?'

Aithen felt like he was waking up from one of the most painful naps of his life. As he attempted to open his eyes, his skull seemed to be trying to split apart.

While his mind was clearing up, he realized he was lying on a cold wooden floor, and it seemed to be bouncing around. He heard the sound of horses running outside and a.s.sumed he was riding on some sort of large horse-drawn carriage. As he came to his senses, Aithen noticed the pain that he thought came from a headache grow sharper and felt a wet sensation on the back of his head, which increased his worries about the current situation.

Opening his eyes, he began to survey his surroundings.

Wood planks lined the walls of the carriage and the air was cool. Sharing this s.p.a.ce with him were quite a few well-dressed boys and girls in what seemed to be their early teenage years, their eyes closed in relaxation as they sat against the walls. Not one of them seemed even a bit perturbed at his situation, no one bothering to look at him.

He also noticed that he seemed to be the only one laying down. The cold wood slowly gnawed at his body, so he decided to try and get up.

However, the moment he lifted his body, the pain he had been feeling in his head was brought to a crescendo.

The pain was sudden and brought with it a flood of strange memories. Aithen's eyes rolled back as he fainted.

"Aithen... Aithen! Please don't be dead…" Aithen heard in his confused state, and couldn't help but try to open his eyes.

'Is this… reincarnation?' He began to remember an exploding building, one that he was in. He and a team of scientists had been working on creating a system that would allow them to travel across multiple universes, but of course, someone got greedy and attempted to activate it early and take it for themself. On top of that, this type of carriage made of wooden planks was considered an ancient antique in his old world, and would definitely not be used.

'We had been so close!'

After organizing the new memories in his mind, Aithen gained some insight into his body and this world.

This realm was in an era that was similar to the European Middle Ages. But there was something more to this world than that, the presence of a mysterious force. The presence of... magic.

This body's original owner was called Aithen Valore, and he had been the son of a fairly successful duke. Aithen found it convenient that he shared the same first name in this and his past life. In this life, he had been tested for magic, and, like his father, had demonstrated some ability. Mages being some of the most powerful people in this world, his father had done all he could to get Aithen admitted into a magic academy.

Finally opening his eyes, he noticed he had been awoken by what seemed to be a giant of a boy.

He had large blue eyes, thick eyebrows, straw-blond hair, and a straight nose. Despite his muscular frame, his face was a little soft, demonstrating his youth. He looked extremely manly and quite intimidating.

Seeing that Aithen had awoken and was clearly alive, the boy laughed energetically "Haha… Aithen, you had me worried! Had you slept a few minutes longer you would've missed dinner. You're not trying to starve are you?"

Aithen lowered his eyes. After some searching his memory for a little bit, he figured out this person's ident.i.ty, "Thanks, Henry!"

All the youths on this carriage had been tested to be gifted with the ability to control magic. Henry was a Count's legitimate son and a favored one at that. When his gift was revealed, the count had easily spent many resources to have him admitted.

Having been a scientist in his former life, the very mention of such a mysterious force as magic filled him with a desire to conduct some research about it. When he was working on the dimensional travel system he had imagined the ability to live and grow in worlds just like this.

Although he had taken over this body and even its memories, as he read through this body's past, he understood he was very different from the original Aithen. His current family members, who had spent years with him, would easily be able to tell the difference between the two. If they mistook him as being possessed by a demon and perhaps begged one of those mysterious Magi to investigate, it was extremely likely that he would be found out.

'However, if I can enter the magic academy, I probably won't return for at least several years. By that time, any changes in behavior will be written off as any other normal change, especially for a teenager during these years. Plus, magi are known to be strange and eccentric. At that point, it would be strange if I hadn't changed at all, not if I had!'

Just as he was in deep thought, a pair of strong large hands suddenly a.s.sisted him to his feet.

"What's on your mind?" Henry asked.

"No– Nothing!" Aithen quickly shook his head, but then immediately held onto it once more, still in pain.

He suddenly spun his head around and looked at Henry, causing the boy's heart to stop in its tracks. He felt as if he was being stared at by a venomous snake.

Aithen rolled his eyes and asked, "Dearest Henry, why didn't you wake me up earlier, instead choosing to let me just lie on the floor like that for so long?"

"Heh heh! I saw you having such a nice little nap, and thought you liked lying down there!" Henry scratched his head abashedly. However, his eyes sparkled with a cunning gleam.

Under Aithen's murderous glare, he finally raised his hands in surrender, "Alright! Alright! You know how much the guys on this train idolize that "G.o.ddess". Offending her was bound to result in you acquiring some bruises; because I'm your bro, I didn't join them though. Alas, the entire carriage is now treating you like an enemy, and I don't want to be isolated too, so you see coming over to help you before this wasn't an option!"

'Offend? G.o.ddess?' Aithen scratched his head, but then he suddenly remembered why he was beaten up.

It was a girl named Katherine. Although she was only 15 years of age, her body was already well-developed and voluptuous. Adding on to this with her big watery eyes, it was a huge draw to this body's previous owner.

The original Aithen was no gentleman. He had lost his virginity at the age of twelve, and after that, he had either seduced or forced his way with many others, and had by now slept with nearly one hundred women! He had been known as the scourge of his father's holdings. But he preferred to think of himself as a great s.e.x machine, spreading his love for others to enjoy.

As Aithen finished exploring the memories, he rolled his eyes once again in disdain. No wonder this body was so weak and frail, it wasn't just because of the injuries. This boy had never taken life seriously, never attempted to grow stronger.

Thinking back, it was clear that Aithen had been too used to causing trouble in his own territory. Having been used to abusing his father's power, he hadn't been able to control himself when he saw Katherine.

The first few times he had acted rather normal, merely flirting and making small pa.s.ses at her. However, near the end, he had resorted to violent means, leading to the current situation. When Aithen saw these memories, he couldn't help but label the original owner of this body as an idiot. It's not surprising he ended up dead, and with such a lack of prudence, he would've died at a later date anyway from something else, had this beating not killed him.

That Katherine was the princess of a small country! And Aithen still wanted to **** her. He began to wonder if there was even a brain in that skull, at least he hoped there was one now that he had taken over!'

So what happened went without saying– Aithen was taught a savage lesson by a bunch of 'Flower Guardians', eventually succ.u.mbing to the injuries. Luckily, the current Aithen had shown up in order to benefit from the whole ordeal.

'Hmm, maybe this Katherine isn't as simple as she appears. She could've easily manipulated some of those guys into killing me!' Aithen laughed coldly at this thought.

'Well, no matter what, I have taken over this body now. If the opportunity presents itself, I'll avenge you as best I can. After all, despite that idiot brain of yours, I'm still alive and now Aithen Valore!' He promised in his heart.

Aithen looked around to find that there was really n.o.body else inside the s.p.a.cious carriage, wondering how long he'd been pa.s.sed out. It was no wonder that he had come to call him over.

"Well, looking at the situation I really can't blame you for not defending me. Henry, do you happen to have any medicine?" Aithen stood up and stretched his body. Although it still hurt in a few places, it did not impede his movements, and the wound at the back of his head had already become a scab.

Henry laughed as he tossed a small bottle over, "Heh heh... I knew you'd need this. This is my family's secret product. I heard that it's usually used during Knight training, and is extremely effective when it comes to treating any bodily injuries!"

As Henry spoke, he looked furtively scanned the area around them, "Alright! You should hurry with applying that because dinner is about to start. I'm going to head there first, just to be safe. Remember, do not tell anyone else about our friends.h.i.+p!"

Before he had even finished speaking, he had disappeared from the carriage in a rus.h.!.+

Looking out the door and watching Henry's figure disappear into the distance, Aithen couldn't help but ma.s.sage his forehead. It looked like the other Aithen had truly stirred up quite a bit of trouble. However, it shouldn't have been this bad. His memories told him that the people of this world were rather open about s.e.xual acts…

At the moment, Aithen couldn't do much to solve the problems at hand so, after closing the door, he focused on applying the medicine to his battered body. Taking off his clothes carefully, he began to treat all the cuts and bruises along his body.

"ouchhhhhh… This d.a.m.ned Henry. Couldn't he have helped me apply the medicine before leaving?" Aithen had to draw several sharp cold breaths as he applied the medicine.

The medicine was extremely effective. As soon as he applied it, there was a cooling sensation and the pain vanished. He watched in amazement as many of the small cuts seemed to disappear at a speed visible to the naked eye.

After he had dealt with the wounds on his body, Aithen slowly put his clothes back on and opened the door of the carriage.

*Whoos.h.!.+* A gentle breeze blew across his face. The sun was just beginning to set on the horizon, painting the surroundings in a gorgeous golden red.

Aithen thanked his lucky stars as he thought, "No matter what, it feels good to be alive!"

Gazing towards an area with a lot of noise coming from it, he noticed a large fire and many people eating. The current makes.h.i.+ft campsite was formed by having several carriages arrange themselves in a circle.

Many of the youths sat around the fire, resting on cloth mats laid on the ground. They were laughing and playing with each other, in a fairly carefree manner, while eating the bread they had in their hands.

Aithen strolled as nonchalant as possible towards a table that had quite a few slices of bread and cups of juice placed on it. According to his memories, this was where food was distributed for every meal.

As he came closer to the area, he noticed that there were a few people queuing up at the same time as him. As they spotted Aithen, their gazes turned to ones of derision. Although Aithen thought of himself as thick-skinned, he still found it somewhat difficult to endure. 'Was the previous owner that lame of a person?'

Still, it was not nearly enough to make him leave. He was incredibly hungry after that whole affair and was determined to get his fill.

"Hurry up!" A hoa.r.s.e voice rang out, startling many of the teens in line.

"I-I'm sorry!" A short stocky boy instantly apologized. He hurriedly grabbed his share of food and ran away.

[Beep! Beep! Watch out idiot you're h.e.l.la close to danger! I'd start running if I were you!]
