"What's wrong, Ryan?" Faiy said.
"*Woof!* *Woof!* *Woof!*" Ryan continued angrily barking at the distant capital's walls, ignoring Faiy and the words she said.
"That's enough," Liya said and Ryan quieted down. She turned around towards the distant capital's walls.
The middle-aged man from the fourth group of the escortees turned around, looking at Liya. "Why was Ryan barking so vigorously now at the capital's walls, and not once in the last six days?" as he said, the other fifteen escortees and the mayor, turned towards him, looking at him and once he finished, they all but the mayor turned towards Liya, looking at her and waiting for her answer.
The mayor turned around, looking over the sixteen escortees as he said, "What else could it be, my citizens? Animals sense danger, and Ryan senses danger from those walls." He pointed his finger at Liya and continued, "The so-called hero has escorted us to the already fallen capital!"
The sixteen escortees snapped their heads to Liya, looking at her, and Faiy snapped her head to the mayor, looking at him. But they looked at them differently.
The sixteen escortees looked at Liya with shock as they couldn't believe that the hero who saved their town and protected them from over a thousand goblins, would lead them to the already fallen capital. While Faiy looked at the mayor with anger as he implied that Liya led them to the capital while knowing that it had already fallen.
But before Faiy or the sixteen escortees could say anything, Liya with her back to them, the mayor and Ryan said and they all turned their bodies, looking at her. "I am going to see whether the capital has fallen like your mayor said or not. While I am away, Ryan will protect you." She glanced at Ryan. "Understood?"
"*Woof!*"
"You are leaving us behind?!" Joshua couldn't help but shout out.
Turning her head back, Liya said, "Yes, but don't worry, I will return shortly. And whether the capital has fallen or not, it will still become your new home. Its tall stone walls and gate will protect you better than the wood walls and gate of the town that you have left behind."
The sixteen escortees bowed their heads. "Thank you, hero!" they said in unison.
The mayor frowned. "The capital city had fallen! The men protecting it had perished! What can you do against those kinds of goblins that were capable of such a feat?! I will tell you what, you dumb brat, you can only die! And when you die, they will come for us and we will also die! Take us back to our town before it's too late!" as he said, Faiy and the sixteen escortees turned their bodies, looking at him, but looking at him differently.
The sixteen escortees looked at mayor with an agreement as hearing his words, they too began to think that Liya couldn't do anything to the goblins that managed to take down the capital which was known as the haven. And that she would only die and then they would die after her. While Faiy looked at the mayor with anger as he doubted Liya and called her – a dumb brat.
"Don't forget that you were the one that decided that you wanted to be protected by me, so if you die, you can only blame yourself." as Liya said, the mayor, Faiy and the sixteen escortees turned their bodies, looking at her. She turned her head back looking at the distant walls and continued, "I am leaving."
"Okay, let's go, Liya," Faiy said.
Turning her head back to Faiy, Liya said, "You are not coming with me."
"But you said that I am now yours and that I will go where you go."
"I also said that you will do what I tell you to do."

Faiy lowered her head, looking at the ground. "I understand."
…
Getting closer to the capital's walls, Liya saw that near the ground, they were coloured red with blood. She saw that the gate was raised and below it stood a goblin that from the distance looked like one of the goblins that were bas.h.i.+ng on the town's hall's door. Between her and the goblin, she saw more than a hundred corpses of humans, werebeasts, elves, oni, dwarves and goblins. And all those corpses, whichever race they were, had bloated stomachs.
'They even burrow inside corpses of their own race? Disgusting!'
Taking a few more steps, a notification message flashed.
'Dungeon with a level range? Well that's new.' Unsheathing her two two-handed swords, Liya charged at the corpses. Out of each of the eight-hundred-fifty-eight corpses, goblins started leaping out and landing on the ground. Landing on the ground, each one would laugh, shout out a few words that were either – "Human!", "kill!", "Mine!" or "Prey!" and laugh again. Reaching one goblin out of a thousand that had already landed on the ground, Liya saw its name, level, status and health above its head. <7,425 ,425="">> Liya slashed it with her two-handed sword in her left hand, <+1,650 xp="">> Thousands of goblin shouts sounded at the same time, shaking the earth on which Liya stood on, and she saw a sea of blood-soaked goblins charging at her. Narrowing her eyes, Liya thought, 'Let's begin!' She charged at the goblins, but then s.p.a.ce around her suddenly warped and her surroundings changed. She appeared in the place with countless flickering stars, seven white moons, seven black suns, one floating island and a black void below it. She was in the spirit realm, and she wasn't alone, to her right stood Ryan and to her left stood Faiy. Looking around, Liya thought, 'Spirit realm? Why I am suddenly here?' Faiy turned her head in all direction, looking around. "Where am I?" she mumbled, but then she noticed Liya standing to her right. "Liya!" she couldn't help but shout out and continued, "I saw all those spots suddenly appear, I was so worried!" Turning her head to Faiy, Liya slowly nodded her head and faintly smiled. "I am fine," she said. "I have accidentally sent you into the future. For my screwup, I will repair your soul and give you a few gifts. I am sending you back to the time you came from." a voice sounded inside Liya's head and notifications started flas.h.i.+ng. As they were flas.h.i.+ng, the s.p.a.ce around Liya, Faiy and Ryan warped and their surroundings changed. Faiy turned her head, looking around. "Ah?! Where are we now?" she said and countless blue orbs suddenly appeared out of nowhere and started glowing, illuminating the room that they were in. She saw a room full of bookshelves and one table in the middle-top of the room. The first thing Liya did appearing inside this room, was opening the menu and her character. Breathing out a sigh of relief, Liya thought, 'Good, I didn't lose my levels. But even if I lost them, it would have been fine as I now don't have the 25% attribute reduction and can also have the third cla.s.s. The only shame is that the attribute points I gain from that cla.s.s will be allocated to Intellect and Wisdom.' Closing her character and opening her inventory, Liya looked over the cla.s.ses that were available to her and she learnt the necromancer cla.s.s. A few notifications flashed.
