Liz woke up, without an alarm. She is used to waking up at this time so that she can get ready for work. However, due to her promotion to a senior neurosurgeon, today she does not need to go to the hospital, so she can take her time and be lazy in the bed next to her handsome boyfriend who is still in the dreamland.
Liz observed Max's sleeping face like she is trying to memorize every curve of his exquisite profile. She smiled. This pile of hunkiness right here is her boyfriend. Ah, she could look at him all day and not get bored of it.
While on the topic of looking, Liz gently pulled the cover lower and admired Max's firm pecs which got exposed. And the cover inched lower and lower... revealing the landscape of his abdomen. Perfection.
The cover was just below his waist level when Liz froze at the sound of Max's voice.
"What are you doing?", Max mumbled without opening his eyes.
Liz cleared her throat awkwardly. "Admiring my boyfriend."
"You know... when you are sleeping… I let you sleep." Max complained but the smile on his face told Liz that he is not upset that she woke him up. He even s.h.i.+fted his legs so that he is completely flat on his back for Liz to get a better view.
"Well, I am not so kindhearted…" Liz's voice trailed off when she realized that he is aroused. When Max s.h.i.+fted his legs, his hips rotated, displaying the tent above his crotch area. And it's a lovely tent.
Liz looked up at his face and saw that he still didn't open his eyes. "Max?"
"Hmm?"
"How sleepy are you?"
He frowned slightly while wondering, is he running late for work? But his alarm didn't ring yet, so he should be fine. "Why?"
His eyebrows shoot up when he felt Liz's palm caressing his s.c.r.o.t.u.m. A second later his eyes sprang open. "I'm awake."
Liz giggled and moved lower while pulling the cover above her head. "I'm happy that I've found a way to wake you up."
"For you, my love, I am always awake.", Max murmured, and he inhaled sharply when he felt that she took him into her mouth. Indeed, there is no better way to wake up. And she can wake him up like this every morning. He has no complaints.
…
8:46 AM
"You didn't eat anything, and it's my fault that you are going hungry to work." Liz said with a pout when she saw that Max is grabbing his suit jacket hurriedly and keeping it over his briefcase.
If she knew that their lovemaking would make him late for work, she would not be so naughty. Or maybe she would wake up earlier.
Ah, his hair is still damp from the shower and his necktie is crooked.
"Don't worry about it. I will grab something on the way." Max ran his hand through his hair a few times, smoothening it out before das.h.i.+ng toward Liz to give her a quick kiss.
"I will see you at lunchtime?"
Liz smiled and reached to fix his necktie. "Yes. Lunchtime." In the next moment, she panicked. "What should I wear?"
Max pushed a lock of her hair behind her ear and said dotingly. "Whatever you pick, you will be beautiful."
He gave her another quick kiss and dashed out.
"Text me when you are nearby so that they expect you at the reception.", Max said before closing the door behind him.
Liz looked at the closed door and suddenly found that the apartment is empty. She sighed. Yesterday she was excited about three weekdays during which she does not need to go to the hospital, but now… she feels like going to work. How else is she going to fill up her time until Max is back? Will she go to visit him for lunch every day? That does not sound practical. He is bound to have some lunch meetings, and no matter how much she wants to see him, that period from nine to five, five days a week, should be reserved for work.
Liz turned to look toward the living room. What will she do? There are more than three hours to fill up and she does not feel like working or watching television or reading. The only thing on her mind is Max and that lunch and… Liz decided to go and pick her clothes which she will wear for lunch.
"Oh, no…", Liz was dispirited while looking at the options in her closet.
She was never picky about her clothes, but now she finds them too long, too short, too tight, too loose, too bright, too much and too less at the same time and she has nothing to wear!
Liz took a deep breath and decided to go shopping. She has three hours, and she is already downtown Seattle, streets are full of various stores, so it's totally doable.
But she can't go by herself because she will not find anything good in the sea of choices, and she could really use a second opinion. Ah, only if Brianna is here!
Liz remembered: Mia! She is home and available and… Mia is too sporty. Knowing Mia, she will advise her between a variety of shorts and t-s.h.i.+rts, and those are not appropriate for Liz's first appearance at the Alpha group.
But if not Mia, who else is there?
Liz's face lit up. There IS a lady who is free and available and willing, and she is cla.s.sy and knows the Alpha group! Liz got her phone and made a call…
"Hi Sabrina, how are you? I need to do some shopping and I wondered if you can… You can? Great!..."
~ Seattle, the coffee shop on the 9th street ~
9:37 AM
"Thank you for dropping everything, Rina…", Liz said when the two of them took a seat at the small table for two by the large display window which provides a great view of the busy street downtown Seattle.
"Thank you for calling me. Part of me thought that you will never call me to hang out. But let's drop the pleasantries and tell me what is the reason behind this shopping."
"I'm going to meet Max today for lunch at the Alpha group and I have nothing to wear.", Liz ended with a sour expression.
Sabrina's face lit up. "You will pick him up from work for lunch?"
"I don't know if it's a pick-up or we will eat there.", Liz admitted. "Max told me to show up and he will take care of everything else. But I am nervous. It's my first time going there, and I want to leave a good impression."
Sabrina smiled. "Don't worry about it. I know just the place. Let's enjoy the coffee and the pastries and then we will take care of you. I know the place for your hair as well."
Liz was happy to hear this.
They started chatting about random things and Liz apologized for the misunderstanding on Sunday. "If I knew that Mia's first thought will be that I am kidnapped or dead, I would leave her a text. Because of this, everyone's Sunday was disrupted."
Sabrina laughed. "Don't worry about it, it was fun. I don't remember the last time I spent driving around Seattle. And I am sorry that we invaded your apartment. Everyone was worried and I totally forgot how it's inappropriate to get in without your permission."
Liz thought about how this is a chance to bring up a topic… "I hope that didn't disturb some intimate time between you and Jackson."
Sabrina waved her hand dismissively. "No. He is out for work."
"On Sunday?" Liz didn't hide her curiosity.
"He has an odd work schedule."
Liz pursed her lips before asking cautiously: "Rina, I hope that I am not intruding but, is everything fine between the two of you?"
"Sure.", Sabrina responded on a reflex and then paused. "Is there a reason you are asking me that?"
Liz exhaled while silently scolding herself. What did she expect? That Sabrina will just spill it out? Spill out what? Does she even know that Jack is a cheater? Or should Liz talk about Jack making a move on her during their Hawaii weekend?
"Liz?"
Sabrina's voice pulled Liz out of her thoughts.
"What?"
"Is there a reason why you are asking me if things between me and Jack are fine?", Sabrina repeated her question while carefully observing Liz's expression, like she is searching for something.
Liz realized that she already crossed some border. She squinted and asked timidly: "If I say 'no', will you believe me?"
