By the time Li Na reached the doorstep, Mr. Wu just came out of the room.

"Did he woke up?" Li Na asked the old man, she didn't realize how choked up she sounded before Butler Wu gave her a questioning look. Clearing her throat she asked him about Little Tiger again, to which he replied.

"No fully just got disrupted, he asleep now. He must be having a nightmare. Don't worry, he won't even remember it after waking." The old man replied and slowly shut the door behind him. Li Na stepped back as her nerves tensed up hearing the old man.

Having a nightmare?

Looking at her worried expression, Butler Wu smiled at her and said, " Don't worry he'll be absolutely fine. Little Tiger had been crying a lot recently. So he's just stressed and emotionally exhausted."

"Does this happened because of me? Am I pus.h.i.+ng him too hard to get close." Li Na's voice choked at the end of the sentence. Her chest puffed with undesired emotions.

" Don't blame yourself. It has usually happened a lot in the past. It's just after months we thought he recovered completely. Though these days, it's happening frequently. Little Tiger couldn't fall asleep, and he sits up and cries. Anyhow, if he slept, he even cries and whines in his sleep. Poor Lad! " Butler Wu said dishearted. " I hope he'll get over this soon." the old man sighed.

Li Na couldn't found the words to speak.

After a while, she asked lowly, "Both, you and Lu Jianjun didn't sleep for the whole night?"

Butler Wu gave her a weak smile. " No, I can't stay awake the whole night. I'm an old man, girl. But Master...", he shook his head. " Little Tiger is more than just his responsibility. I just came at my regular time at 4 a.m when Master Lu called me here. I..."

Just when they were talking lowly, Butler Wu noticed Lu Jianjun stepping into the living area.

Following the old man's eyes, Li Na turns around.

" Little Tiger? " asked Lu Jianjun to which Butler first address him that the boy went to sleep, and Lu Jianjun nodded in response.

" I'll bring you a ginger tea. You seem to catch a heavy cold so you'll feel better." Butler Wu excused himself as Li Na smiled at the old man and said Okay.

"Lu Jianjun?" She turned to Lu Jianjun just as he opens his bedroom door and about to take a step in but stopped when he heard her call him with a soft and smooth voice.

"Hm?" he hummed but didn't turn to look at her.

Staring at his broad shoulders, Li Na stood a few steps away and said politely. "You knew I was just behind this door. You could have asked me to accompany you. I wouldn't have minded at all." her low voice dissolved in the end.

Silence fell inside the room.

A good amount of time pa.s.sed unnoticed, as they remained silent for a while, standing there. Li Na thought a little before she said faintly. "Lu Jianjun, although I don't know how to pacify a child. I still, don't want you to take all the burden for him. Don't you think Little Tiger is too unstable? And he relies only on you too much." Just as words flew from her mouths, Li Na immediately realizing that she said something peculiar that he might misunderstand her so she backed.

"Don't take it otherwise, I'm not complaining or questioning you in any way. I was just..."

Lu Jianjun lowered his lashes, his gaze landed on the black wrist.w.a.tch he wore on his wristbone holding the doork.n.o.b. Then he silently, shut the door the barely opened door before he turns to face Li Na.

Walking over to the long couch in the living area between their rooms. He sat there and raised his brows, motioning her to take the sit.

Unprepared for his response, Li Na just looked at him for a few moments before she walked slowly while studying his face. She had expected him to shut the door on her face and ignore her. Or he would have just reminded her, of her own illness and weakness. To be open, she was feeling anxious and useless in Little Tiger's matter.

Deep inside, she began to reflect upon as if criticizing herself. That on what basis she had asked him.

In the past, Li Na was never part of their life because she had never done anything voluntarily or rightly, so now, she shouldn't have any right to question Lu Jianjun regarding their child's upbringing. Lu Jianjun did what he could do best. Single parenting is not an easy task to do or a joke to crack and the child will be happy especially when one of the parents is messing with the child's sentiments without care.

In their case, she happened to be the troublemaker.

When she was sure that Lu Jianjun wasn't angry or indifferent towards her, then she sat down on his front couch.

Lu Jianjun remained silent as if patiently waiting for her to speak.

When she couldn't make her mind to speak or found the right words not to involve any misunderstanding between them, she sat there silently for some instants, seemingly debating something to herself, after which she looked at him with an unusual complex in her eyes which he could easily grasp.

"Do you really want to do this?" Suddenly, Lu Jianjun asked her.

Li Na blinked a few times. "To help you with Little Tiger? Then, yes. I want to..."

"Why?" Lu Jianjun restored instantly without bating his eyes like she usually does before speaking carefully while giving it a brief thought.

He probed further. "Speak freely. Just to let you know, that I know you didn't lose any of your memory. So, tell me, why are you faking your amnesia? What are your real intentions?"
