The door opened with a click and revealed a large s.p.a.ce room inside. Abium noticed inside the room was simply a large bed at the center, a wooden table along with a chair on its right side, and a magic lamp to illuminate the room on the wooden table.
'There is no attached bathroom in this room.' Abium frowned a bit and soon s.h.i.+fted his gaze towards the lancet window located opposite to the entrance gate. He quickly opened that window while breathing in a fresh air coming from the outside and glanced at the two-meter tall stone wall up ahead. He saw the wall located only a few hundred meters away from this Inn and completely separating the other side from this Commoners' Borough.
n.o.bles' street!
'I will wait for the midnight red star to appear, then I will make a move.' Abium thought to himself and quickly removed his red mask and placed it on the wooden table. But he didn't relax. He once again cast seer's intuition spell and sighed in puzzlement when noticing there was not even slight danger.

'I shouldn't put my trust in this spell all the time. Hmm, If I feel dangerous during the a.s.sa.s.sination, I must find a way to escape.' Abium knew his own limit and made up his decision. Soon, he started to read the runic language book in the remaining free time and waited for the midnight Star to show up.
Around 2 o'clock, a red star started to rise in the sky from the north.
'It's time to pay a visit to Baron Harry.' He quickly closed Ubius's runic book then stored it inside his spatial ring. After that, he picked up his white lined red mask and put it on his face. Then, he moved closer towards the lancet window and instantly disappeared from his room.
His figure soon reappeared at the terrace of the next building, and slowly he spurred towards the direction where the two-meter tall gate was located. Abium's every step on the terrace made no noise, and he ran like walking on water.
Soon, he leaped down from the building like a floating feather and silently landed while simply grabbing the iron pipe that attached to the house. He then started walking in the dark alley while looking at the two-meter tall wall up ahead vigilantly. Within a minute, Abium arrived near to that stone wall and quickly jumped up nimbly. In a split second, he landed on the other side like a cat, and he started moving towards the large mansion located at the center of that n.o.ble's street.
'Why are there no securities patrolling this n.o.ble's street?' He frowned for a second while walking towards the mansion sneakily. He could see many two-storied buildings on the way and felt a different atmosphere. Unlike the Commoners' district, n.o.bles' streets were looking very neat, and magic street lamps were placed on all those three streets in the n.o.ble district gave a beautiful view.
'Hmm, only some tyc.o.o.ns, retainers, and relatives of Baron Harry have the right to live here. Also, the majority of crimes are only happening in this district. These guys are like parasites sucking up all the commoners' wealth and even plundering their life.' He felt disgusted when he thought of these rich peoples.
While he was deeply thinking about these peoples, he soon found himself arrived near to the four-storied mansion house.
'Why are there only a few people in this mansion?' He felt something was odd about this place and quickly walked inside. Few guards were dozing off near to the entrance gate, but Abium didn't mind them and directly walked in the yard. Soon he arrived under the covered porch and walked inside the mansion house without any hesitation.
He soon started searching for Baron Harry in the room one by one without hiding his presence and promptly arrived on the second floor. After a few minutes of search, he finally able to find out Harry's room on the third floor. Once Abium found out Harry's room, he quickly teleported to the other side and appeared near to Harry, who was snorting loudly on the luxurious bed.
Without even wasting his time, Abium kicked that figure harder with his right foot while lighting the magic lamp.
Thud!
Baron's slightly obese figure flew from the luxurious bed and fell on the ground with a thud
"W-What? WHO-mm?" Baron Harry woke up in abrupt shock and soon started to shout in a fury, a hand covered his mouth. He glared at that masked figure but suddenly felt chill. He soon regained his senses and looked at the masked figure with confusion.
'Why is there a masked guy in my room?… Who is he? Thief?… No! a.s.sa.s.sin? Did Baron Abium send him to kill me for killing his people?' Many questions came to his mind made his thoughts to become clouded.
"Don't shout. If you do, then you will lose one of your finger for each sound, got it?" A familiar cold sound came out from that red masked figure made the hair stand on his back.
'I-It's Baron himself!' Baron Harry had never expected Abium would personally come for revenge and felt his blood run cold. He rapidly nodded his head and trembled all over. Although he was arrogant outside, he knew the real strength of a mage.
"Tell me the reason why did you kill my people?" Abium was pleased with Baron Harry's response and asked with a chilling tone.
"I didn't!" Shouted Harry. "I didn't kill your people. Its all old man's fault." Baron Harry almost prostrated himself on the floor and said with urgency.
"Who is the old man?" Abium was slightly surprised and asked with a frown.
"I don't know his name. But my grandfather seems to know him, and they always talked with much secrecy. I even tried to hear what they were talking at that time, but some kind of invisible magical wall blocked the sound completely. I was later found out and even got a beating by that old geezer." Baron Harry said with a displeased tone while he started to touch a wound on his left elbow.
"Do you know why he killed my people?" Abium nodded his head and asked continuously.
"I don't know. No one knew the answer except that old man and my grandfather." Baron Harry's reply made Abium frown deeply.
"Where are they now?" Abium asked while removing the red mask.
"They went to the Royal capital. That old geezer also took those cards you gave earlier to get the money from the merchant's guild. My grandfather and most of my household members also accompanied him to the capital." Baron Harry said with a hint of regret.
'Heh, he took those invalid cards? He is going to be p.i.s.sed when finding out about the truth. Maybe he already did check it.' Abium secretly snorted.
Following that, Abium silently sat on the bed and fell into deep thought while Baron Harry stood three feet away from him with slight nervousness. After a few seconds, Abium quickly gazed back into Baron Harry's almond blue eyes and said.
"You have two choices. The first choice is to die here. I will not kill most of the family members except those who are involved in the ploy. I will replace someone from your family to become a puppet Baron and demote your family's n.o.ble t.i.tle in the future using political ties."
"The second choice is I will let you live. But you will be the one responsible for punis.h.i.+ng the ones who killed my people. You have to kill your grandfather and the ones involved in the ploy. If you accept the second choice, then you and your family will gain support from me in the future." Once Abium finished his words, Baron Harry stood there like a frozen statue for a few seconds and felt complicated emotions surging up from his heart.
'The one who involved in the ploy means, my father will also come under this list. I don't want to kill my father with my own hands.' He gritted his teeth and asked in a begging tone.
"Can you spare my father? He killed your men under the order of the old man."
"But he did cut my peoples with his own sword, right? If he really felt guilty to kill my people, then he should have at least stayed away from them, right?" Abium glared at him with a hateful gaze and soon thought of something and spoke, "Be it then. I will make an exception for you. Tomorrow, you have to cut your right hand for your father's mistake under the watchful of your people. Tell your people about what did he do to those soldiers. Don't worry; you will get huge respect in the n.o.ble circle and even have a chance to become a high n.o.ble."
Abium's words left Baron Harry to be stunned. But he soon thought this was a better choice than the previous one.
'It's not hard to lose a hand than losing my life or my father's life. At least this Baron is not an unreasonable one.' He quickly made up his mind and spoke without even a hint of hesitation.
"I will cut my hand for my father's crime against your people. I will capture whoever involved in that ploy, including my grandfather, and execute them under the watchful gazes of my people." Baron Harry's words surprised Abium a little.
'I thought he is a dull arrogant fool, but it seems I was wrong. He is a brave man with little cowardice. Although losing his right hand would be hard for his life, but he could manage his life. Well, I didn't expect this a.s.sa.s.sination plan would end like this.' He sighed inwardly and quickly asked.
"So, how are you going to fight against your grandfather? Without any strength, you will be squashed like a bug."
"Y-Yeah, I didn't think of that. Can you lend me some of your strength?" Baron Harry asked with an embarra.s.sed expression.
"Hmm, I will injure your grandfather heavily while I'm killing that old guy you told me before. As for others, use some money from the family treasury and buy some powerful paralysis potion. Mix them in their food to paralyze them and simply arrest the persons who are involved in the ploy then execute them publicly." Abium's words made Baron Harry become stunned for a while.
Soon Baron Harry nodded with an understanding expression.
"Now, tell me more about this mysterious old man. Explain to me in detail about his facial features and anything unique about him." Abium quickly changed his topic and asked specifically about that old man.
'I only met a few old men after the transmigration. It's not Count Tibal, because this Baron Harry seems to already know about that guy from last Royal Banquet. Then who is he? Is it Margrave Eliot? Nah.' Abium got confused while Baron Harry started to talk.
"He had gray hair, emerald green eyes, fair skin, and has many wrinkles on his faces." Baron Harry stopped for a second to recall anything unique about him, and soon his eyes brightened and continued with the explanation "Half of his right ear is nowhere to be seen. I even asked my father about the person who cut that old geezer's ear. Also, he wore a unique gray robe that has three red stars symbol on the chest area and wore a unique emerald-colored pendant."
'Gray robe with three stars and emerald-colored pendant? Who is he?… I don't have any clue about him at all. There may be some secret organization behind that person. What is his motive?… Ha! Forget it. It's pointless to think about him now. I have to quickly go to the capital and search for these lurking monsters.' He muttered to himself.
"Hmm, that should be enough for me to find out about his background. Okay, you don't have to fear me, but you have to fulfill your promise.". Abium said and soon thought of something then continued.
"Also, destroy the check post and tell your soldiers never to come near to that area. Tell the public from now on you are a friend of Baron Abium, and there will be no tax money to cross the tunnel for the next twenty years." Finished Abium, while giving one last look at Baron Harry, then he picked up the red mask from the bed and disappeared from the room, leaving no trace behind.
