Allen lazily wakes up from his slumber as if it was just another day for him, "Man what the h.e.l.l did I eat?...I feel like s.h.i.+t.", with some concerted effort he stands up, wobbling a lot. This was an unnatural feeling for him. Only times he felt like that was when he overworked himself, and even then this feels pretty bad.
He staggers to the closest wall, placing one hand on it to stabilize himself, "What the h.e.l.l is that smell?" It smelled dank, like a place that hasn't seen any air or sun for quite sometime. It was dark but some light did show through some of the cracks in the building he was contained in. After a while nausea hits him and he starts vomiting, but barely anything comes out.
He starts to look around to see where he is, "Well this ain't Kansas city, Dorothy." He sees a door at the other side of the room, and slowly starts stumbling his way towards the door.
His heart sinks as he sees that the door has no handle, and seems to be magnetically sealed, "Why the f.u.c.k would people be so cruel?...screw you miss irony."
Sighing he start looking for something to pry open the door with. The upside was the door was heavily.
Finding a piece of rusted iron that suspiciously looked like a crowbar, "Well at least all isn't lost."
He slowly makes his way towards the metal piece. Picking it up he notices the ma.s.sively unusual weight, "Oi, the h.e.l.l did you have for breakfast?".
Not wanting to waste any more of his precious energy he decides to drag the the metal bar towards the door, "Just like in games, a conveniently placed item, but fact and fiction are two different things aren't they?...stupid fat...apologies, hefty b.a.s.t.a.r.d."
With the little bit of strength he had left, he quickly lifts and jams it into an area in the door that can give leverage, "Heave ho...uuh...I don't even have the energy left to push." With a ma.s.sive final burst he gives it his all, "Break G.o.ddammit, give birth!". The door gives way surprisingly easy, knocking him flat on his a.s.s. Light and fresh air bursts forth from the door.
The fresh air already gave him some of his energy back. Taking a deep breath, and exclaims, "Nope!" and starts vomiting again, "Body why do you hate me?..." There where some heavily rusted rails which he rested against, sliding down it and promptly sits down. He was exhausted, breathing heavily. he turns around to looks where he was.
What he saw nearly shattered his mind. He was nearly nearly twenty stories up in the sky. Looking down he see a lot of overgrown vegetation creeping upside the walls of nearby buildings, but the bottom was like a forest like the which he has never seen. Trees with black b.a.l.l.s on top of it and flowers that looked like they were glowing al sorts of colors, "Yeah I am still sleeping."
A good looking lady wearing large spectacles was evaluating some data on flora in a given area with a bunch of holographic displays. She was about 1,67m(5.5 feet) and weighed about 60kg(about 132 pounds). She had green eyes with dark brown hair, "The dark matter mutation is pretty aggressive in Burden District. Did something happen, mutations in this area isn't usually this bad." She notices an odd red flash on her drone cams.
"The h.e.l.l was that?" She tells the drone to close in on the anomaly on to find a something akin to a human being, "How in G.o.d's name did this person get this far into the Burden lands? Suicidal idiot." She takes manual control of the drone.
Allen hears a faint droning sound, and was getting slightly louder. He spots the weird device approaching him. Instinctively he grabs for the metal rod close by. Wary of the device he exclaims, "Friend or foe, partner?". The drone talks back in a really weird and unfamiliar language, "Wit ar yig dunig in ve burfan lan?". A look of derision appears on Allen's face, "English motherf*cker, do you speak it?"
The girl on the other side tilts her head slightly, "Why does that language sound so familiar. AR49 could you please a.n.a.lyze that language."
"Acknowledged.", was the robotic reply back, "Language dates back to the Before Fall period known as Dead English. Only some of the current 69 can still speak it fluently."
The before fall period was the period of the modern day as Allen knew it. This astonished her, "A dead language? AR49 please initiate translation module for this dead english."
"Acknowledged."
The drone suddenly replies in english, "Do you understand me now?". Allen sighs in relieve, "Oh thank goodness, it seems you do speak english. So what can I do you for...uuhm weird robot drone thingy?"
The woman raises an eyebrow at the statement, "You do know this is just a drone, right?, but it doesn't matter. What matters is: What are you doing in the Burden Lands, also how are you able to speak in a dead language ?"
Allen shakes his head at the last statement, "A dead what now?...look if there is form sentience in this drone, please, a rescue would be greatly appreciated. I am kinda in a bad way."
The drone quickly scans the intrepid fellow, "Severe malnourishment, muscle atrophy. You are in an almost death like state. It would help if you brought along enough food and water if you wanted to go on a suicidal expedition."
That twerked Allen's att.i.tude quite a bit, "I just woke up here you dumb bimbo."
The lady scowls at that statement, "Is that really how you ask for help...punk."
A sense of urgency forms in Allen's heart, "Okay, yeah sorry. Look, the last thing I remember was I just finished buying my bread. The saving of my life would be greatly appreciated."
The la.s.s nods on the other side of the drone, "The drone is just a surveillance device but it can monitor your condition, as well as, to be used to pinpoint you location."
Allen nods and sighs in relieve, "How long should I wait for the expected save?"
"A few hours at most. You are in the heart area of the badlands after all. Which basically means that aerial extractions is a really bad idea. So expect them to come from land."
Allen nods in agreement, "Thank you, sorry for calling you a bimbo."
She immediately contacts the mayor of the city. After a while the mayor responds in the form of a hologram. He was a short balding man at 1.55m(about 5.1 feet) with grey hair and a small pudge. He also had a friendly face and a mustache, with brown slightly sagging eyes, "What can I do for you Miss MeLing?"
"I request an extraction of a very unusual man out in the burden lands."
"The burden lands? Dangerous area, what is so special about him?"
"That is what I intend to find out, but I do have a possible theory, but its rather out there."
"Lay it on me Miss MeLing."
"Well I thinks he is the...."
