Looking to the bed beside his, he saw that Xixi was still sleeping. There was a small wet patch on her pillow, which Long Yu a.s.sumed was probably her drool.
He got off the bed and did a few stretches before was.h.i.+ng himself up in the bathroom.
After his shower, Long Yu went to sit on the sofa in the lounge room. One by one, he took out the guns that he previously exchanged for, from the system storage.
Pistols, sub-machine guns, a.s.sault rifles, there were a variety which he had exchanged for during his stay in Macau. Of course, he had not done it randomly. Long Yu chose the ones that were practical and could be used in any situation.
Laying them out neatly, he started retrieving the bullets and magazines as well, and loaded them into the guns. He also decided to mount suppressors onto whichever guns that could be fitted on.
Considering the hearing sensitivity of the zombies, it would be wise to reduce any noise made as much as possible.
Although the gunfire would not be completely silent, it would at least be effective from mid range and long range.
Once his weapons were set, Long Yu moved on to the skill cards he needed. Last time, he was caught unprepared and was unable to exchange for any skills during the havoc.
So, based on the experience from it and also some contemplation, he decided to exchange for the following skill cards;
==================
[Martial arts skill card] (Expert)
[Grants the user fighting skills of a martial arts expert in close quarter combat.]
[Exchange Price: 500,000 yuan]

"That's 2.5 million yuan gone. I guess it doesn't take much to be an expert these days," he joked.
Although Long Yu now obtained the skills, he needed to practice in order to get used to them. He neither had the feel or muscle memory of using those tools at the moment.
Too bad he couldn't practice using his firearms, since law still applied to the current earth. There were no firing ranges in Nanjing, and he did not want to drive miles out into the woods to test them. Who knows what he would encounter in them.
There was one item that would barely fit his need in the system exchange platform, but he could not afford it.
==================
[Portable sound kill generator]
[A device that kills all sound within a 30 meter range when activated. Has a cool down time and needs to be recharged with an energy source]
Activation time: 60 minutes
Cool down time: 30 minutes
[Exchange price: 1x stage 1 mutant core]
'It seems reusable devices are much more expensive. Makes sense, I guess,' mused Long Yu.
Although there is a cheaper version of the device, it is categorised as a consumable and could only extend up to 5 meters.
Long Yu decided not to buy any of those since he needed to conserve his currency, especially mutant cores. He would need at least one every 10 days to keep his infection in check, unless he was lucky enough to collect all 10 in one go.
Long Yu had already consulted the system, and it had informed him that there was a low possibility of finding that many stage 1 mutants in the first couple of days of doomsday.
In other words, the system's calculation was right. The moment humans start turning into zombies, he would have only around three days to secure a stage 1 mutant core. Otherwise, the infection inside him would break out again, turning him into a zombie.
Long Yu accessed the exchange platform again and searched for items that could strengthen his body.
Those mystical body strengthening and cultivation techniques were out of the question, at least for the moment.
They require time and resources to train, which he could not afford. There was no 'qi' on earth as mentioned by the system. In other words, he had to use a subst.i.tute, mutant cores from either zombies or mutant beasts.
Thus, as of now, putting a bullet into the brain and hearts of those zombies is much more efficient.
After a long search, Long Yu finally found an item that would suit his need.
==================
[Nano-machine Exoskeleton Armor] (Left lower limb)
[An exoskeleton armor made of nano-machines. Provides the area covered with unprecedented strength and defence.
Armor can be materialised at will. Nano-machines are hidden inside the hollows of the user's bones when unactivated]
[Exchange Price: 100,000,000 yuan]

"That's not cheap for sure," Long Yu was not shocked at seeing the price.
Instead, he considered it to be a bargain. Items of this level would usually cost currency other than money. From what he had seen so far, only some fairly high level consumable items could be purchase with money alone.
This item would not only make up for the weakness of his left leg, but also provide him with another trump card in close quarter combats.
Having all that said, Long Yu now did not have enough money to exchange it. He was also not sure if he could collect all that money within those 6 days. Otherwise, he would have to resort to another method, robbing, and he knew just the place to hit.
