Yan Qing Shan looked up at the man who approached her. His suns.h.i.+ne and daisies smile which was bound to take anyone's breathe away was met with her icy blank look.

Xu Lei was the genius of Public Relations. He was actually able to study at Z University through a scholars.h.i.+p. Despite coming from an average family, he was not intimidated by the other aces. And his bright personality made him an indispensable companion to them.

Yan Qing Shan wasn't surprised that he was the first one to converse with her. Xu Lei was generally an amiable person in her opinion.

"En. Pleasure to meet you. I'm Yan Qing Shan."

She replied in a neutral tone. Yan Qing Shan would have replied in her usual monosyllabic ways. But she exempted the guy for the sake of him approaching her first.

"Oh? So you're the infamous Yan Qing Shan."

She stiffened. Yan Qing Shan knew about the rumors about her going on around the campus. The corner of her lips twitched. Though her dark reputation has reached frightening levels, she did not expect the Ace cla.s.s to even care about it. Seems like even the lofty likes gossips.

"My reputation precedes me, it seems."

She said coldly and looked straightly at the man. Xu Lei coughed awkwardly with her statement.

"Well, uhm...anyway, welcome to Ace cla.s.s. I'll introduce you."

Yan Qing Shan c.o.c.ked her brow at this. Xu Lei isn't so bad after all. The truth was, Yan Qing Shan was a bit... just a tiny bit nervous. She hasn't interacted much with other people in both her lives. And the prospect seems to be harder than she thought. Aiyah, who asked her to be an introvert?

Her tone never diverted from either being neutral or cold. Yan Qing Shan's warmth is given to those she treats as her people. Though she wanted these people to be her friends, there was still a long way to go for them to be counted as her people.

Xu Lei looked a bit surprised at her words but nevertheless nodded with a light smile. He beckoned her to follow him to the people on the people lounging at the couch.

"Yo! Our new cla.s.smate is here."

A man tapping in a mini laptop, looked up at her and beamed. Yan Qing Shan internally squirmed. This guy was a bit too friendly.

"Yan Qing Shan, this buffoon is Qin Jiran. Ace of Computer."

Xu Lei shook his head. It looked like this was how Qin Jiran usually is. Couple that with his boy-next-door looks, he was on par with the young masters in the Ace cla.s.s. Yan Qing Shan knew him. He was like Xu Lei. Born from an average household but quite exceptional with a computer. His other persona is the rank one amongst the top hackers in the field. If Yan Qing Shan wasn't mistaken, his codename was Zeus.

She half-smiled as she recalled this. This Qin Jiran will get along really well with her Yui-chan. Yan Qing Shan met his eyes when he looked up at her from his laptop. Mischief brimmed in her eyes creating a stark contrast with the indifference of her face.

"h.e.l.lo..." Yan Qing Shan drawled on and then she mouthed silently to him.

"Zeus."

Qin Jiran's eyes widened in surprise. The fingers that were tapping non-stop on the keyboard came to an abrupt halt. Yan Qing Shan ignored his dumbfounded look and gestured Xu Lei who just shrugged his shoulders.

"These the twins, Jia Yi Lan and Jia Wei Ren. They're Aces of Health and Sciences. That guy there in the corner table fiddling with G.o.d knows what is Ning Xie Zhi, Ace of Architecture and Engineering. The guy buried in books is Chen Luo, Ace of Law. The other two are Qi Xia, the Ace of Business and Hong Zhen Yue, the Ace of Militia."

"Everyone, this is Yan Qing Shan. She's the new Ace of Media."

Yan Qing Shan nodded at them. The men returned with a nod as well. Chen Luo glanced at her then returned immediately to his book. Being the only girl among the group and having a naturally gentle and friendly disposition, Jia Yi Lan was the one who went to her and held her hand.

"Welcome to Ace cla.s.s, Yan Qing Shan. Thank G.o.d, now I don't have to suffer being the only girl around these men."

She said with a bright smile. Yan Qing Shan reciprocated with her usual half-smile.

"I'll be in your care."

Jia Yi Lan hooked her hand to her arm and motioned her to sit. Yan Qing Shan did not pay attention to the others' reactions. Not that she cared much.

"Brother, move over. I'm sitting with Yan Qing Shan."

Jia Wei Ren casted his sister an aggrieved look but moved over anyway. Qi Xia with a sly smirk in his face gazed at her intently.

"You know, just because you were accepted into Ace cla.s.s doesn't mean you're really accepted."

He said in a devious tone. Yan Qing Shan turned to him, her stoic face not changing even a bit. She already knew they'd be testing her the moment she arrived.

"What do you want me to do?"

Qi Xia raised her eyebrows at her, surprised at her a.s.sertiveness.

"I'll be the one giving you the test."

The silent Hong Zhen Yue spoke. Yan Qing Shan frowned when she saw the strange smiles and pitiful looks the other threw at her.

"Qi Xia, why is it Brother Zhen Yue? Yan Qing Shan is a girl."

Jia Yi Lan scowled in protest.

"If she wants to be acknowledge by us then she has to deal with this on her own, little Yi Lan."

Jia Wei Ren tried to pacify his sister. He somehow could understand why she was protecting the newbie. She was a girl, too. Not too mention, Jia Yi Lan knew Hong Zhen Yue's ways. It's the reason why he's their unproclaimed leader.

"Alright. It doesn't matter who give it anyway."

To their surprise, Yan Qing Shan agreed.

"Yan Qing Shan, are you sure? You don't know how difficult Brother Zhen Yue's test is."

She looked at Jia Yi Lan and gave a thankful grin and patted her hand. Jia Yi Lan gaped at her stunned. At first glance, Yan Qing Shan looked so simple. Beautiful, yes, but a bit bland. However, with that smile Jia Yi Lan felt as if she was looking at a G.o.ddess.

"Thank you for your concern, Jia Yi Lan. I can handle it. Don't worry."

Yan Qing Shan turned to Hong Zhen Yue silently asking him to tell her the necessary information about the test.

"You'll be moving to the Ace Villa right? Let's have the test at the grounds there a couple of days from now. We are pretty much left on our own devices. So we don't stay at school much."

It was Qi Xia who answered. Yan Qing Shan nodded in a.s.sent. She decided that she will make this honorary leader of the Ace cla.s.s submit to her. After all, another subordinate won't hurt.
