It's been a week and Yukio and I have been planning our marriage. We'll be getting married in Hokkyokusei since I'm the Empress and Yukio will be crowned as the Emperor. At first, he was reluctant to leave his parents.
"I'm my father's heir, if I leave, wouldn't it be difficult for them?" He asked. I had a.s.sumed that the Empress hasn't told them the news yet. We were called to the Imperial Hall along with Sumire.
"Is there something wrong, Father?" Yukio asked. Emperor Sora looked at Empress Yukina and smiled.

"I heard that you've been having second thoughts about moving to Hokkyokusei with Sayori." Emperor Sora asked Yukio. He looked down and slowly nodded.
"You've been preparing me to become the heir and I feel like I'm disappointing you if I move away." He confessed. Emperor Sora looked at me and a tender smile made its way into his lips.
"I have important news to tell you." Emperor Sora said. He offered his hand to Empress Yukina and she took it in hers as she walked closer to her children.
"Your mother is with child. Whether this is a boy or a girl, Sumire is still here. So you don't have to think about all of this and just be with Sayori." Emperor Sora said. Yukio looked up and met his father's gaze. He couldn't help but give his parents' a hug. It was a touching moment and I felt like I would cry but I held it in.
The next day, Yukio and I set out to Hokkyokusei. We'll be starting our own life in a new Empire but I didn't care about that. What I cared about was being with Yukio. After a day of traveling, we finally arrived. My father and grandfather greeted me by the gates of the Palace and I proudly introduced Yukio to them.
"Good afternoon. My name is Kagami Yukio." He said as he bowed his head. My father and grandfather accepted him wholeheartedly. I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with this man.
The wedding ceremony for the Empress of Hokkyokusei was a big one. It wasn't something I was expecting but I accepted it since it will be a part of my tradition. It was customary for the bride to wear a dress in the same color as her hair. Since mine was pink, I had the opportunity to wear a pink wedding dress.
"Are you ready?" My father asked. I nodded nervously. I felt like my heart was in my throat but I was also excited. I couldn't wait to finally be wed to the man I love. The ceremony was similar to that in the future. The groom awaits the bride at the altar and as they finally stand together. They profess their love for each other.
"Sayori, no matter how many challenges we'll face, I know we can make it through as long as we're together. I love you so much that I'm willing to give you the moon and stars to show you just how much I love you." He said. His words touched my heart and I couldn't help but shed a tear.
"Yukio, I can't promise you that I'll always make you happy because I know there will be times that we'll disagree and we don't see eye to eye but that's okay because being in love doesn't mean you have to see the same thing. Being in love means seeing different things but understanding each other despite that difference. I love you so much that I'm willing to trade anything just to stay with you. I bargained with death to let me live because living in a world without you would mean nothing to me." I said. He smiled at me as I finished my piece. At the light of the torch, we sealed our love with a kiss.
After our wedding was the awaited night. The same thing from the future where newly wed couples go on honeymoon, except this time, the purpose is to conceive. I certainly don't want to have a baby anytime soon but this was tradition. Maybe I'll get lucky this time and not get pregnant.
Yukio and I danced around inside our room. We were laughing and having a good time. I looked him in the eye and I knew in my heart he was the only one. I wouldn't want anyone else.
"I don't want to surprise you about this but do you want us to have children?" He asked. I looked at him and smiled.
"Of course I do but if I could choose, I don't want them right now." I said. He looked at me and I was afraid that he would be disappointed. Instead, he placed a tender kiss on my forehead.
"Then we'll have kids when you're ready." He said. My insides became calm and my love for him grew even more. He carried me bridal style towards the bed and he placed me like I was something fragile. Once I laid flat on my back, he came in and planted a soft kiss on my lips. Slowly, I opened up to him until the night became hot and steamy.
A few months have pa.s.sed and we got a letter stating that the Empress gave birth to healthy twins. A boy and a girl to be precise. Yukio and I read the letter feeling happy knowing that there was no need for him to be afraid in the first place. We both knew that everything will be alright. Sumire often wrote us letters telling us what was happening in Taiyou and Yukio often sent her letters as well.
Yukio and I were taking things slowly and I'm happy that he's very understanding. When a year had pa.s.sed, on Yukio's 19th birthday, I found out that I was pregnant. It was something both of us weren't expecting but we accepted it since it was a blessing.
I learned that there was a reason I was reborn as Sayori. Just like what Empress Yukina said, maybe our lives in the future weren't meant for us to live. Maybe it was a trial for what we should really be living in. Everything we experienced in the future was to prepare us for this moment. We aren't sure if we were the only ones who were reborn but if there was something certain, it was that we were meant to stay here. Every moment we are happy here is a moment worth cheris.h.i.+ng.
