The people overseeing the gate were shocked as one of them regained his composure as he shouted. "SIR! There is a 2-meter tall wolf running toward the gate! Archers Ready!" But a person using the binoculars saw that there was a man sitting on the back of the wolf as if he was riding a horse instead of a wolf and shouted to his comrades.

"Wait! There is a man sitting on the wolf! T-T-The man seating on the wolf is Sir David!" The man with the binoculars stuttered when he saw this unbelievable scene.

When David and his Wolf arrived at the gate he jokingly shouted. "May I enter the village?" and those who were near the entrance opened the gates as both a man and a wolf entered the Village but those civilians who woke up early and saw the wolf suddenly had their legs turned into jelly, some had even peed their pants as they screamed as if the wolf was there to take their lives.

This forced David to let the wolf stay outside the Gate. "Can you stay outside for a while, the people inside are traumatized from the sudden arrival of the apocalypse." He used his appraisal skill on each of the deceased people to know the specific time of their reanimation as zombies. after a while, he noticed that most of them would be reanimated later at night while 3 of the deceased would be reanimated tomorrow.

David called a pa.s.sing doctor that had the rank of Second Lieutenant as he asked "Where is the head doctor?" and the doctor replied. "Major Wilhelm is currently not here, he said that he will report something to the general."

David nodded as he looked at each of the infected to find that certain someone that was infected by the Necrophage Symbiote but he couldn't find her in this room and instead went to the secretary of the Chief Doctor.

When the secretary saw David coming Inside the office, she saluted him as she greeted. "Good morning, Sir David."

"Was there a female infected that goes by the name of Shannah Cruz?" David inquired.

"Shannah Cruz... Shannah... Oh yes. She was transferred to the containment block because of her sudden urges to attack people. She is usually very friendly and obedient but when her urges for blood suddenly appear, her physical ability suddenly spikes up to levels that are nearly equal to people with professions." The Secretary sighed in sadness as she pitied the life of the young girl.

"s.h.i.+t. The Necrophage Symbiote is now partially awakened, There are only two options that I can choose from, either to kill her to kill the symbiote or help her control the symbiote. If the second option doesn't work then." He cursed as he turned serious and told the secretary.

"Quickly lead me to the containment block!"

They soon arrived at a truck with a containment unit at the back that had 3 cm thick metal walls with gla.s.s windows that won't break even if you smashed it using a sledgehammer.

The truck was rocking back and forth as sounds of banging was heard on the inside. The woman inside the Car kept banging the doors hoping to destroy it so that she can go out.

David ran toward the truck as he looked at the female inside that suddenly turned docile when he arrived.

He asked them to opened the containment unit and first refused as they reluctantly opened the unit because of David's pressure being directed to them.

The woman went out of the gate as she shockingly asked. "Y-You a mere mortal, have the blessing of the one above!"

David shrugged and said. "I never wanted it. He just noticed me and voila, a free blessing."

He turned serious as he continued. "As dangerous as the current situation, with you being half-awakened. I would need to put some restraining order on you so stay down."

His overwhelming pressure was now directed at the woman causing her to fall. He moved toward her as he put his hand in her forehead as he said "Contract!"

He forcefully placed the woman under a servant contract to restrain it from going berserk and killing other people but when the servant contract was completed, the woman suddenly collapsed.

David ordered the soldiers to bring her to an available housing as he asked someone to call Xiao Yao to his residence before he went to his house.

When he arrived, he opened his cabinet and took out the currently usable sniper rifle as well as some attribute jewels that they got while escorting the bus. 7 of the jewels were physical strength types but there was 2 Speed type green colored jewel.

David then said after showing both a single red and green jewel. "Eating both of these jewels will increase your physical attributes by 1 and both speeds by 0.5"

David gave them to Xiao Yao before eating a green jewel while the latter also followed. Xiao Yao felt a soothing feeling that encompa.s.sed his entire body and after the feeling disappeared he felt much stronger.

"Since its already 7, let's go meet up with the others." David looked at the sun and said as he took the remaining 6 red jewels before he went outside together with the latter.

Both of them arrived at the central square where multiple people are gathered facing them together with 3 others.

David called the others as he explained the use of the jewel before giving them 2 jewels each but Michael suddenly said. "I will only take a single jewel and I will give the other to Tullius since he has lower stats than us."

David approved and Tullius happily accepted the jewel that Michael gave to him as simultaneously ate the 3 jewels and the others followed him as they too had eaten their jewels.

After they have eaten the jewel, David then said. "Go now to your troops and we will start the survey."

The others went to their troops as he stepped forward and looked at the people with both confidence and conviction.

"I know that most of you are scared of the outcome when engaging combat with monsters but do not fear as you have comrades with you. They will never abandon you nor will they betray you, In this apocalypse, we are one large family. We need to do something to help another and in turn, would help another."

David turned solemn as started shouting.

"THERE WAS FAMOUS SAYING OF A STRONG HERO. "IF THE HEROES RUN AND HIDE, WHO WILL STAY BEHIND AND FIGHT?"

"WE ARE HEROES OF OUR GENERATION. WE RETURN ALIVE AND FIGHT TO THE BITTER END!"

The crowd went wild as all of them shouted.

"FOR THE FUTURE. FOR OUR FREEDOM."

David showed a sincere smile to the people as he held back his urge to shed a tear. "Then let us fight till the bitter end. My dear friends."
