That was all Grendolyn could think of.
Rain.
Coming from a place of research and wonder, she'd seen more than several people's fair share of amazing weapons. One's whose powers were so unmatched, dominating everything that found themselves in their paths.
They were tyrannical to the nth degree, so much so some were even considered too dangerous to be let out into the world. But never were any of them so unforgiving.
Most weapons, despite their strengths still required a powerful wielder, one who would pull out it's potentials. And regardless of how powerful one would be, there would still be a chance to fight back.
But these... Give it to enough people and it no longer became a fight. Didn't matter who wielded it, give it to a man, women... children, they could become killers just like that. A part of her was amazed at this novelty, the rest was horrified.
At this point she'd watched the war go back and forth. One side or another was losing men at every point. And she watched as the people from her world took on immense pain and hards.h.i.+p with a pa.s.sion, turn into a blood l.u.s.t one should never have to see in their lives, and devolve and drain into a lifeless state in the face of extreme odds.
The other side wasn't any better, at no point in this did they ever show anything besides fear, desperately clinging to their weapons, praying they never stopped and dreading the moment they did. It was a war as wars should be.
But this next faze was different, when these new men stormed into the battle, their expressions described but one word, glee. They wore the same clothes as the army they'd been fighting, but they were their own men. Shooting into the midst of battle, at every man whose head popped out long enough to be inviting to those bullets, regardless of which side they stood.
Shooting their own men would be understandable if they were shooting haphazardly into the fray, just hoping to take as many bodies down. But they were systematic, taking their aim before each shot, knowing exactly who was in their line of fire, they just didn't care.
Blood fell like rain on the battle field, just as those little pieces of shrapnel that induced them did. It did not splatter one man and was done with it, it was fluid, like a torrent. Was.h.i.+ng on the first man it touched, but flowing beyond him. It was as if the laws of gravity had been tilted and the falling bodies the stream of a waterfall that had just begun it's rush downstream.
And who could defend themselves against rain? Who could stop water from flowing where it would? Was there one who could stand themselves in the center of a river and be so full of themselves that they would believe they were even slowing it down in the slightest.
Yes there were.

She at least, was much bigger than this river.
"Jeff, you might want to get away..." She gritted as she felt her powers begin to surge back into her, attempting to break the limiters that were currently in place, it came from her chest, a gilded light that flowed from a core somewhere in there, mixing with her blood and releasing an energy that was previously hidden within them...
She was closing her eyes, in need of some concentration, but a stump had begun tapping on her head... "Jeff, I told you to get away."
"And I'm telling you to stop and open your eyes for a little bit." Jeff replied. "Stop acting like you're needed when you aren't."
Opening her eyes, she watched, dumbfounded as the scene from a few seconds ago when she closed her eyes, was replaced by an utterly ridiculous view.
Half the battlefield was replaced by some wriggling tentacles that infested the whole place like gra.s.s with some limbs, weapons and faces popping out from between the folds every once in a while.
On the other side a gigantic ape... Emphasis on "Gigantic" was swinging it's giant arms, and with every swing, tens of people would be flying G.o.d knows where.
Apparently... She really wasn't needed.
Far on one end, Zhao Wei looked at Moto-tsune while sweating like crazy, "See! it wasn't that hard!"
On the other end, on top of the giant Ape, Thirteen was standing up straight while viewing seeing over looking the battle that was going on. Not far from her, Myra's head was poking itself out of the shadows.
Thirteen stretched out her neck to look down at the big guy, whose eyes turned up to look back at her. "See! told you it'd be fun!"
